Dr. Tarnished Relic, a little known archaeologist, makes a rather astonishing discovery while exploring the Equestrian badlands: an ancient shrine, possibly predating all recorded history. Upon the shrine he discovers and awakens a creature unknown to ponykind. The creature, dubbing herself 'Chrysalis', reveals her purpose: to change one and all into the 'True Shape'.

In the process, she will turn everything the ponies of Equestria know about their origins on its head.

Applejack, Big Mac, and Applebloom wake up to find that their grandmother, Granny Smith, has passed away. Everypony is sure that her death is merely the result of natural causes, of her age finally catching up with her. But Applejack gets the feeling that something isn't right about her grandmother's death, and she enlists the help of Pinkie Pie and Rarity to investigate.

Will her friends be able to solve this mystery? Is there even a mystery there at all?

Arta Factia, architect. Designing edifices is what she loves to do most. But architectural work isn't always steady.

Finding a job posting in the classifieds that is right up her alley, she applies for the position...only to be abducted by her new employer.

It isn't only archiving that she's wanted for. They want her love, too.
