Once upon a time, long ago, in the magical kingdom of Equestria, in the prestigious city of Canterlot, there lived a young unicorn by the name of Twilight Sparkle.

Known throughout the kingdom as the best pupil of her ruler, Princess Celestia, Twilight Sparkle was a haughty and unpleasant mare who hated anything that had to do with friendship.

Hating such unimportant stupidity above all else and preferring the company of her books to that of other ponies, her way of thinking was not about to change.

Until the day the young unicorn was expelled from her school following an incident that almost cost the lives of many innocent people.

Determined to regain her mentor's trust and her comfortable lifestyle, the young unicorn agreed to spend a whole year at the friendship academy where she would have countless adventures and gradually discover the meaning of the word "friendship".
