In the middle of the night, during a raging storm over the peaceful town of ponyville. Spike answered the telephone. It was Rarity, asking him to come over to her home as quick as possible. Before Spike could answer, the phone hung up. The Drake decided that it was too important to waste time waking Twilight up. Putting his cloak on, Spike headed to the Boutique as quick as he could. It's only when he arrives does his night turn out to be a lot different than he had planned for.

As ponies age, the paths they take are sometimes not the ones they want for themselves. This is the case for two friends, both of whom wish they had the job of the other. One day, the friends decide to get together in order to catch up after the many years they have had to mature. This is that story.

These are words that Twilight heard when she woke up in a dark, cold Laboratory that she found herself imprisoned in. The words repeating over and over, the sense of insanity in the air as her whole body was useless. She couldn't use her magic, she couldn't use her wings, no one was coming to save her. But why? Why was she here? Who had captured her and why? Well, she's about to find out... and Equestria... Equestria may never be the same afterwards.

Many a tale have told of the royal Alicorn dynasty of Equestria. The creation myths of Sol the First. The wisdom of Cosmos the wise...even the corruption of the three Alicorn brothers of Zeus, Poseidon...and Hades. But no greater tribute and grandeur goes to the father of the royal sisters themselves, Helios. The stallion who ruled for longer than most other Alicorn had, the stallion who had united the pony races after the second racial collapse...or so it is said.

But...what if that wasn't the reality of it all? What if Helios was not the grand hero that he is told of in legends and stories? What if, instead of a mighty general and king that is seen by the common folk, he is but a husk...a madpony? during the time of her sister's banishment, Celestia decided to try and take comfort in her father's presence, but in order to do that...she must visit his prison.

Trouble has stirred up in Equestria once again as a villain from Celestia's past comes back from imprisonment to finally get his bony hooves on a mystical artifact from a war eons ago. Now Twilight Sparkle and her friends must embark on an adventure with the most unlikely of allies, pirates. Will this group of misfits be able to defeat the first Pirate in Equestrian history, or be swept into his plot to flood the land and return "The Age of Gold".
