Well... I spent the holidays in the hospital with my mother. She is... barely responsive, and just lays there sleeping for the most part. She seemed to recognize I was there (I think), but because she had three different infections I couldn't be in the room with her without at least a mask and gloves. She would hold my hand... if I put my hand in hers... and sometimes she would squeeze it. She didn't vocalize at all, the best I got being her mouthing the words "I love you too" in response
