After tricking her girlfriend into thinking she forgot their anniversary, Lyra sneaks off to get the cake she ordered and get back home to surprise Bon Bon. However, it would seem that Equestria is bound and determined to stop her.

Twilight masters a new spell, one powerful and old, that allows her to peer into other realities. They give Twilight and the others a chance to see what could have been and what may still be in their own dimension.

In her latest bid to impress Princess Celestia, Twilight takes to mapping out the Everfree Forest. Along the way she discovers that some things are not to be disturbed. She also learns to get a second opinion whenever Spike offers her advice.
