While studying the Cutie Map, Twilight is accidentally whisked away to another alternate universe!

After spending much time investigating this new world, she cannot figure out just where the timelines diverged or what exactly is different compared to her own universe, but she does seem to be bumping into things more than usual.

But maybe not all alternate universes are so drastically different.

Maybe some are only slightly to the left.

It has been over five months since Starswirl the Bearded had vanished from his laboratory in the Castle of the Two Sisters, and Princess Celestia has all but given up hope of ever finding him again.

That is why, when the wizard's famed pupil, Clover the Clever, comes in with new information regarding his disappearance, Celestia is overjoyed at the chance that she may get to see her oldest friend once more.

Only, instead of giving a location, Clover recounts the story of how she first met the legendary wizard, and how it was also the very last time that Starswirl ever saw her.

Individual raindrops fell like music notes in a grand symphony, each plain and dreary when alone, but when combined, they created something beautiful. With each passing second, music filled my head and my soul as the pouring rain fell all around me. Allegros flowed into andantinos and then shifted into solo pieces as rain pounded down on roofs or rushed down drainage pipes. A thousand melodies, all entwined with each other, rushed through the air, combining into one beautiful concerto of sound and atmosphere and emotion.

I let the rain pour over my body as I gazed up at the clouded skies. Memories of the sun and blue skies seemed like distant dreams, like fantasies brought on by the never-ending deluge.

~Inspired by Electric Light Orchestra's suite of the same name from their album 'Out of the Blue.'

This is a story about a stallion.

Though most stories involve some sort of conflict, not all have to do so.

Sometimes, the most mundane aspects of life are worth noting.

Sometimes, stories can be about nothing at all.

[A collection of drabbles about ponies doing mundane things.]

[Note: Feel free to leave any suggestions for future stories you may have. Even though I'm no longer actively writing this anymore, I may get around to it someday.]

Average Statistic leads an exceedingly normal life. Every day, he wakes up, goes to work, works, goes back home, and falls asleep, with the expectation that everything will be the same when he wakes up the next morning.

At this point in most stories, something horrible would happen, something only the main character, in this case Average Statistic, could solve, prompting an adventurous quest to save the world.

But not this story. In this story, nothing exciting happens, no problems need solving, and there is no world-ending conflict.

Just the average day of an average pony in the nation of Equestria.

A novelization of Edgar Allan Poe’s "The Raven" with ponies.

Once upon a midnight dreary, a middle-aged earth pony scholar sits in his study pouring over ancient books, struggling to distract himself from memories of his recently deceased lover. To him, it would seem a night like countless others before, but then his otherwise peaceful evening is disturbed by a mysterious tapping sound from his front door. Unbeknownst to him, this noise is only the start of more trouble.

Quoth the Raven...

Sometimes, we put on a mask to hide our true feelings. Sometimes, we end up wearing them for far too long and we forget who we are underneath, and we lose ourselves to the madness.

My name is Pink, and I am alone.

I found my mask at an early age, and I’ve been wearing it ever since. I’ve hidden myself away, behind this wall I’ve made myself.

My entire life has been nothing but heartache and misfortune. I found solace in the bottom of a bottle, in sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll, anything to fill in the empty spaces and block out the pain.

I used to think none of it was my fault, but now I’m not so sure. I’ve caught a glimpse through the cracks in the bricks that make up this wall, and I’m afraid.

I’m afraid that I was wrong.

I’m afraid to take off this mask and face the reproaching eyes of the world.

All in all, it’s just another brick in the wall.

All in all, you’re all just another brick in my wall.

~All chapters but the very last chapter of this story are finished. I made the decision to abandon this story with a heavy heart, but I have to move on from it. I have, however, posted everything I did write for the final chapter, as well as detailed notes to fill in the blanks. I consider this story completed now. Read this blog post for more info.

~Inspired and adapted from Pink Floyd's 1979 album, 'The Wall.'
