It's taken a while, but I'm pleased to announce that the next chapter is almost finished. I have a couple minor thing to fill in and a pass by my prereaders, with whatever corrections I need to satisfy them, and then we'll be all set. I've had some various writer's block and motivational issues working on this chapter, not to mention taking the time to step back, look at the greater story plan, and decide to gut about 100k words worth of what I'd had planned, but I'm finally starting to get some traction going. I'd like to get the chapter up before December, but I can't promise anything.

When I started this project, I had some reasonable ambitions for it: I'd work up a few chapters ahead of time, publish one, work on another, publish the next chapter after two or three weeks... I'd have the whole thing done in a year. Two, tops.

Chapter 3 took me three months to finish.

For realsies this time, too!
It's taken way too long, but we finally got chapter 3 into proofing stage, prereaders are having their go at it and I'll be cleaning up whatever they shake loose. I want to get chapter 4 into proof as well before I publish 3, however. In part, because I want to have a buffer to work on chapter 5 so it can be published not too long after 4 and we can keep the whole thing moving along at a steady pace without a 3 month gap. Again.
