Long ago, before the history of Equestria was documented, the world was filled with monsters. And none other more frightening then the Umbrum.

This is a continuation of the origin of the shadow creatures that feed on fear and how it ties into another story, the tale of Sunny Knight.

You don't have to read 'Sunny Knight: a Pony's tale' to enjoy this short continuation of the origin of the umbrum. But it would make more sence if you did.

This part of the story is strictly taking part in his own universe, where the first part can be applied to any MLP universe.

With characters from one of my other stories, 'Sunny Knight: a pony's tale', Her first apprentice takes place in the mane story arch of 'My Little Pony: Friendship is magic', many years down the road when the newest princess comes of age and is ready to take an apprentice under her wing. Meanwhile, elsewhere in the Crystal Empire, a small yellow foal, named Sunny, looks to be adopted and taken away from a less then enjoyable life at an orphanage where he feels absolutely alone. Both of their dreams are about to come true, in ways they both couldn't possibly imagine.

As Twilight and her friends gathered atop a hill just outside of Ponyville to watch a metior shower, as well at catch a glimpse of the familiar 'Gazer commit' another adventure falls into their lives, one that will push the girls to look not only deeper inside themselves, but deeper into the dark that they thought long since past. The 'Gazer Commit' had circled Equeatria for over 968 years, lighting up the night sky with its bright green, burning flames that encased the space rock. Only, on this year, after so much had already happened, the females died, and the rock plummeted into the forest nearest to Ponyville.

A yellow stallion with an orange mane shows up in town, without a memory or a hint as to who he is. He seeks the help of Twilight and her friends to reclaim what he lost. Little will he learn that your past doesn't make you who you are, what you do with your life from from the present onward does.
