It happened quickly, almost as if someone had flipped off a light switch. The sun died, shrouded in insidious black smoke, leaving us in darkness, and a regular mare is left alone to fend for herself in an unfamiliar world. Or perhaps she's not so regular after all, because she seems to have attracted the attention of a few unwanted visitors, and somebody is watching from the shadows, tracing every step she takes through the damned wasteland.

Queen Chrysalis. She's the malicious, sadistic changeling queen who would like nothing more than to see the whole of Equestria overrun by changelings and ruled by none other than her, for the two sisters of the sun and the moon, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, and the former's protégé, Princess Twilight Sparkle, to cower when she walks past, to shiver when they hear her name. She thrives on love, and will do anything to get her hooves on it- or, at least, utterly destroy the love that others feel with no remorse. But nopony is born evil, and Chrysalis is no exception.
