Legendary swords, items of power and magic, great artifacts that can topple countries and raise kingdoms when wielded by those worthy of their supernatural might. They are the greatest of arms, wielded by heroes and villains alike as they battle fate itself.

As such, as the wisest of sages can easily attest, there are very good reasons why any sane being would do well in keeping such dangerous artifacts well contained and safely hidden away from prying eyes and unworthy hands until such times when their mighty powers may be needed once again.

So the fact that both Link and Ganondorf lost their legendary blades as they traveled through the void towards ancient Equestria may be something of a problem…

This is just a fun little, non-canon, Omake to my story The Power of Freedom, depicting one of the many possibilities that could’ve come to pass due to Link and Ganondorf losing their swords mid-travel as they reached ancient Equestria.

Reading the main story isn’t necessary to appreciate this, but it would make it far more enjoyable.

Nearly a thousand years have passed since Princess Twilight Sparkle first ascended to the throne, and, for all intents and purposes, Equestria has been experiencing a golden age of peace and prosperity. And yet, as the eve of the thousandth year of her ascension slowly approaches, something stirs amidst the shadows.

Hidden within the darkest confines of the kingdom a group of ponies gathers in secret, far away from the prying eyes of the Alicorn Princesses, as they silently prepare for what is to come. A secret order formed millennia ago with a singular purpose, to fulfill the sacred commandments of their beloved Mistress.

And now, the moment they patiently waited for, the moment for their schemes to unfold and their plans to blossom is nearly at hoof, for the hour of reckoning is finally upon them.

Their singular objective: to fulfill the Holy One’s sacred vision.

Their target: Twilight Sparkle, the Princess of Friendship herself.

And nothing and no one shall stop them from fulfilling their Holy Task, no matter what.

…The end result is far less worrisome than most would expect.

Just a fun little one-shot inspired by all the Doom-talk in regards to the end of the show.

Ganondorf, King of Thieves, Lord of Darkness, Master of Evil and Wielder of the Triforce of Power, had long since grown thoroughly and completely bored with the path the gods had decreed for his destiny.

Time after time it was always the same, try and unite the Triforce, plunge the world into darkness for a time, search out and then kidnap Princess Zelda, watch his minions be defeated one after another and then finally battle Link for supremacy. Rinse and repeat.

All the while knowing that regardless of winning or losing, that no matter what he did or didn’t do, that in the end everything would end up repeating itself in another time and place afterwards, again, and again and again, in an utterly pointless never ending cycle.

Having decided that enough was finally enough, and refusing to continue to be a simple pawn at the hands of the gods, he vowed he would find a way to escape from his cumbersome destiny, a way to start anew far beyond the meddling grasp of the gods, a way to reach a realm upon which he could be the master of his own fate.

And after years of careful planning he had finally succeeded.

Sure, the fact he had to drag the know-it-all Princess and the green obsessed Hero along for the ride for his plan to work was a minor inconvenience, but he knew that sometimes sacrifices had to be made. And the fact that this new realm apparently decided to turn him and his two unwilling companions into miniature pastel colored ponies upon arrival also wasn’t exactly part of the plan, but he could cope.

After all, that was a negligible price to pay in achieving his deepest wish: freedom.

In this story Ganondorf, having grown sick of following through the motions his destiny placed before him as the eternal bad guy to be defeated time after time, seeks out to escape from his fate by breaking through the void between dimensions and running away from Hyrule to another realm entirely, Equestria, all the while dragging both Link and Zelda along for the ride.

Arriving long before the founding of the country, back before the events of Heart’s Warming Eve and at the highest point of the conflict between the Three Tribes, he and his two new companions will have to deal with a whole new world and it’s wonders and dangers. All the while this new magical world will have to learn to deal with its three new strange inhabitants in kind.

Just a warning: This is NOT a Displaced fic. All three main characters are the actual characters from the Zelda series that have been taken to Equestria due to Ganondorf’s master plan, and not humans turned into them.

Chapters (31)

The Great and Powerful Trixie was a mare with a mission. She would show that deceitful arrogant purple librarian, and all of her uncouth friends, who the real magician really was! She would show them all just why she was called The Great and Powerful, and make them regret ruining her life!

She would face that know it all upstart in a magical duel, defeat her completely and prove once and for all exactly who was the greatest Unicorn to ever live!

Of course, there was just the small hiccup in her plan of finding a way to overpower what The Great and Powerful Trixie was unpleasantly certain had to be one of the strongest magic users she had ever seen this side of an actual Princess.

But that was but a pesky little problem for one as resourceful and knowledgeable as Trixie, for as everypony knew, you could find absolutely anything in Canterlot, as long as you had the money to pay for it of course.

And if the rumors held true, that old saying was particularly fit for an odd little curio shop deep within lower Canterlot’s shadiest district.

This little idea started to really bug me after seeing a particular video in this Displaced thread. Egging me on with the question: Exactly how did Trixie find the Alicorn Amulet in a mere curio shop?

After a futile struggle trying to deny it, I conceded defeat and allowed my muse to have her way and developed the plot bunny that was born from watching said video, and here we are. This little one-shot depicts an alternate look at exactly where and how Trixie acquired the Alicorn Amulet.

Hope you all enjoy it.

Timeline wise this takes place after Boast Busters but before Magic Duel.

"The road to hell is paved with good intentions."

What would you do to protect those you love? What actions would you take in order to guarantee their safety? What lines would you cross in order to ensure their freedom? How far would you go to safeguard their well being?

How far is too far when seeking to help those dear to your heart? And would you even recognize the point of no return as it appears before you?

Would you realize that, even the best of intentions can lead one astray, before it’s too late?

Embark alongside Snowdrop into a story of pain and loss, hope and redemption, defiance and determination, as she journeys against all odds in search of a way to help her dearest friend in her moment of greatest need; no matter what.

This story starts right after Discord’s defeat in ‘The Return of Harmony’ of the canon timeline; and if the presence of Snowdrop hasn’t been a clear enough sign, and the Tag up above, let me make it clear and state that it will be an AU.

Knowledge of the awesome animation "Snowdrop" by the SillyFillyStudios is not necessary to read this, but it would make the read far more enjoyable in my opinion.
