Sometimes, being the foal of a world-renowned adventurer and author isn't all it's cracked up to be.

It isn't always exploration and quests, after all. In fact, it's quite the opposite.

As many of my stories are, this one is also based on a chapter from "What If..."

Canterlot Mountain is a volcano. It always has been, and always will be. Earthquakes have shaken the land for months now, and haven't shown any sign of stopping. The city of Canterlot was supposedly built to protect against this... Even then, the city is nothing but ruins now. Hardly anything else remains.

It all came down on the day the world exploded.

Simple cover art drawn by myself. I've got a very complex scene in mind, but I don't know anyone who could pull it off, nor do I have the money to pay someone to draw it.

What happens when you realize that your life is a simulation? Well, you put the headset back on... or you could just chuck the thing out the window and freak out.

Though this story honestly isn't quite as serious as the original, feedback and criticism is still greatly appreciated.

You'd think that with a name such as "Butter Knife", a mare would be much better at being, say, an amazing chef for some highly-rated restaurant.

Nope. Butter Knife is just bad at stabbing people. She's also quite dull, considering her self-described "edge".

In her off-time, when she isn't busy doing anything in particular, Vinyl Scratch is often found either sleeping, or roaming across Equestria, searching for... nothing in particular. It's an endless search-- not for the want of an object, but for the wanting of an experience.
