Even dragons grow old.

Spike has served more than long enough, and while he ages much slower than ponies (or indeed most races), he knows he doesn't have all the time in the world. Retirement would not be uncalled for, and the warm beaches and cool mountains of Silver Shoals would do his scales some good. Only... leaving Canterlot, and Twilight's side, will not be so easy for him.

Hearth's Warming is not a holiday that Starlight Glimmer gets very sentimental about, but whereas her past holiday experiences were usually adequate or merely forgettable, spending this precious time with Trixie leaves her feeling far more conflicted than normal. Depression spikes for some ponies at this time of year, but being in a partly long-distance relationship doesn't help either.

Octavia makes a decent living as a trained musician, performing all across the country and keeping up the image of a proper mare. She shares a house with Vinyl Scratch, who she's known for years now. Yet despite all this, how normal—even banal—her life seems from the outside, she hides something that she feels she can't tell anypony about. How does she cope with this secret?

And can she get Vinyl to forgive her?

Long since her days as a schoolyard bully, Silver Spoon has turned into somepony more dedicated to the finer things in life. She's changed a great deal since her foalhood, and so has Ponyville at large. To keep track of this change, and to calm her own romantic aspirations, she writes about the many couples in town, including a most peculiar relationship between a pony and a yak.

A story I wrote for paperhearts, as part of Jinglemas 2019. They asked for Yona and... Silver Spoon? Sure, I can make something with that.

Twilight and Rarity have been best friends for decades. They love each other, that much is certain, but Twilight has to wonder if they love each other in the same way, if those feelings are platonic or something else. At this point, she's convinced she'll never find out.

And that's okay.

At least on paper, Scootaloo becoming a teacher sounds like the most natural fit in the world. Becoming a teacher at the prestigious School of Friendship seems even more natural, considering her past with helping others. Yet on the morning of her first day on the job, she suffers a crisis of confidence. Will her history of altruism help her in the present?

Fleur de Lis is perhaps the most famous model in Canterlot, and by extension in all of Equestria. But how much did it cost her? Where did she come from? Who was she, in the days before anypony knew her name? Does she suffer from the occasional bad dream? What is the price of this rich mare's soul? And, most importantly, does anypony know who Fleur is, aside from her being a model?

Klugetown is not a place that rewards simple kindness; you have to be at least a little tough to make a living around here. Being quick with your wits also helps. Chrysalis likes to think she's tough, and she also likes to think she's smart, but in this downtrodden town she might've chosen to mess with the wrong feline.

Despite all her boasting and impulsive behavior, Rainbow Dash knows next to nothing about sex, outside of what she (kind of) learned in school. Not only is Fluttershy her first romantic partner, but their first time together would also be Rainbow's first time with anypony.

Fluttershy doesn't know this.
