Substitute - Epic · 12:51am Nov 17th, 2016

I just crossed it.

Work on Substitute continues slowly, but steadily. As far as drafting goes, I am in the home stretch, I think. Probably a little less than that but, still. Nonetheless, I've reached a milestone!

As of a few moments ago, the total draft for Substitute reached 100,000 words!

Feedback - I'm finally caught up with the show already · 9:26pm Oct 27th, 2016

I WATCHED THEM, DAMMIT. I SEEN'T IT.

I mean, yes. I didn't watch the UK early release and, as such, saw the episodes as they came out in the US. And I saw the season finale on Sunday. More on that in a second.

More importantly to me, though, I just got finished watching Legend of Everfree. Unmarked spoilers for both are ahead.

Substitute - AMA · 3:30pm Oct 22nd, 2016

Hello everyone, and welcome to the Ask Me Anything. Or the AMA. I think that’s how this works. I’ve compiled your questions and I think this is going to be a good time. I’m going to have quite a bit of fun with it, myself.

Read on to see where these questions lead and what answers may be waiting.

Feedback - Random trig proofs · 4:00am Oct 16th, 2016

This blog post was once used for a thing. It is now entirely repurposed to serve as a trig proof only. Enjoy.

Let ΔxyR be a right triangle in the x y plane where x and y each sit on the respective x and y axes.
Thus, by pythagorean theorem, x² + y² = R²
Converting to polar, (x = Rcos(θ), y = Rsin(θ))
(Rcos(θ))² + (Rsin(θ))² = R²cos(θ)² + R²sin(θ))² = R²
Dividing through by R² we get
cos(θ)² + sin(θ)² = 1

Substitute - Ask Me, Adamantine, or the Unponies anything · 4:00pm Oct 12th, 2016

I’ve never done anything like this before but doing an AMA seems like a somewhat interesting idea. I’ve seen other people do it and I figured that if I wanted to do something like that, this point in the story would be the most opportune time.

I am taking questions from now until Sunday, October 16th at 11:59 PM EST. That gives you 108 hours to come up with any questions. Anything submitted after that is not guaranteed to make it into the actual AMA post.

Substitute - Actually I'm kinda surprised · 7:38pm Sep 28th, 2016

I am surprised that no one said anything. Minor spoilers for chapter seven.

“Ghastly Gorge,” Rarity replied.

“Oh hey!” Rainbow Dash gasped. “My two stones were around there. Hah! How about that!”

I was sure that these lines would at least turn one or two heads, but that didn't happen. So good job everypony on getting this.

Substitute - A quick word on chapter seven · 5:20pm Sep 16th, 2016

I'll get right to this one: I'm slating chapter seven to come out next week.

You may have seen an earlier blog post concerning the completion of chapter seven. It is quite long, in my opinion, even in relation to thus-far published chapters. Thus I am going to split the chapter into two parts.

Feedback - Now in a somewhat e-book format · 2:46am Sep 12th, 2016

Hey all, I just wanted to let you know that I made an e-book version of this story available. And by e-book, I mean a pdf that you can download. That's just as good, right? I know that fimfiction has a built-in epub thingy but it doesn't look as nice and, more importantly, it loses a lot of the formatting (especially italics, which you readers of Feedback may know is of some significance).

Substitute - The critical point pt. 2 · 5:05am Sep 8th, 2016

A few days ago I spoke of the critical point of the story. I return now with not just one but two pieces of news.

Firstly, I have finished the critical point scene. And it turned out very well, I think. I nearly fried my brain a few times as I wrote it, but hot damn was it worth it. Besides, 3,000 words in two days is fairly impressive.

I'm officially in the endgame now, I think!
