When a million other realities are just a magic mirror away, Twilight does have to wonder what makes her own so special.

Her Royal Highness, Princess Luna, is trying to catch up on lost sleep. She deserves it, after all the hard work she's put in to keep the city of Canterlot safe. Now she can turn the lights down, slip into bed, and finally get some rest.

If only Canterlot weren't under attack by the endless swarms of the Changeling army...

Twilight Sparkle just loves the new dress Rarity gave her for her birthday. So much so, in fact, that she's got to get her groove-thing on. She has to... dance.

Naturally, this leads to horrifying consequences. Including, but not limited to: winding up in the dance-future, rescuing a dance-topian society from its evil dancerlord, and dancing with the power of friendship.

These are the results of the Fimfiction Writes Ponies! project, in which almost a hundred users were allowed editing access to a single Google document, with the final goal of writing a coherent story about colorful ponies.

This... is their story. It is the tale of Mecha-Trixie. It is the tale of Lord Apep, who ate the sun. It is the tale of the shattered multiverse, the permeable boundaries of which may cause the end of all Equestria. Rarity may or may not be eaten by a ghost-shark at the end of things. It is enormous. It cannot be described in mere words. Read it.
