Been Busy! · 6:41pm Nov 4th, 2015

Been busy painting!
Yes, for NaNoWriMo I should be writing, but I wanted to take a break and I needed to find a motif for my work, something to get me in the mood for My Little Panzer.

Yeah, I would have posted an actual picture, but the button keeps saying it's an invalid image. Meh, hyperlink will have to do.

The waiting game. · 11:55am Oct 31st, 2015

I know it's toying with me.
It's trying to out wait me.
Trying to play its little game.
Silent and patient.
But I'm going to beat it this time. I will win.
You'll see.
That Dishwasher is just waiting for me to pick up the mop.
Once again it will wait until I'm half done mopping the floor.
Then!
Then it will click finished!
And i'll have to stop mopping so I can empty it, carrying a stacks of plates and cups over a half wet, slippy floor.
It wants me to slip.

NaNoWriMo! · 9:37am Oct 29th, 2015

I've just been reminded of something awesome!

National Novel Writing Month!

For those of you who aren't in the know, it comes about every November, and you write yourself a novel! Your aim is at least two thousand words a day, and by the end of the month, you have a story! Might not be great, but it's great exercise, and the best thing is even if you're not happy with what you've produced, you leave it alone for a couple of weeks and you have plenty of material to come back to later!

Re-opening Something Magical This Way Comes · 6:58pm Oct 24th, 2015

Well, after a break to re-evaluate the next step of the story, I have restarted work on my first FimFic, Something Magical This Way Comes.
I had always intended it to serve as a spring board for a story involving the ponysonas of myself and somebody I cared about very deeply. Sadly, that went pear shaped... Best laid plans, eh?
But, I've come around and starting working on it anew. Brainstorming new ideas and directions, so watch this space!

1: The curious past times of bald apes from another dimension. · 10:26pm Oct 21st, 2015

It's finally up!
I have completed the task that I somehow managed to drag out into a torturous marathon of late nights, writers blocks and empty tea cups.
And now I get to do it all again with chapter 2!
HUZZAH! :yay:

Rewrites and chapters · 8:59pm Oct 8th, 2015

Righty, almost done with my rewrite of My Little Panzers prologue. I wasn't really happy with it, it felt rushed and not particularly well finished. I was eager to get it started and the result wasn't that great. So, I finally sat down a rewrote it. Well, the second half mostly, but it reads a whole lot better I think, not trying to cram so much information in there this time around, leaves me with more to work with later on.

Of flying and Unicorns. · 6:31pm Sep 22nd, 2015

I love flying dreams. I can't get enough of them. That sense of lift and weightlessness, being able to feely soar and go where ever my imagination and whims would take me. Looking down at the world, seeing the fields, hills and everything else stretched out below is exhilarating. Not only that, but seeing the clouds tower over, above and around me. Bright blue skies of the day, or the onyx and silver of a moonlit night.
There's nothing quite like a flying dream.

Writing, drawing and Mead... · 9:12am Sep 7th, 2015

Wow, so much research for My Little Panzer...
I'm a bit of a WWII buff, I can tell you what most tanks are, what they are armed with and the difference between various marks. But all of a sudden I now need to worry about compartment and interior lay out, crew positions, roles and ergonomics, how the tank handled and felt...
Or am I over thinking it?

Almost there. · 2:54pm Aug 28th, 2015

Finally, after a crazy busy summer that feels like it has become my whole life, the end is in sight! I get my first lay in since June on Tuesday!
The off season is about to hit and I will finally be able to relax and devote my energies to writing, arting (yes, I am using that as a verb) and working on my steampunk props.
It feels strange.

Working in hospitality... · 9:08am Aug 17th, 2015

I love my job.
I work in the family business, we own and run a guest house, Bed and Breakfast by the seaside. The view from our patio and dining room is a glorious vista of the sea and the headland with Scarborough Castle sat on top.
We cook one of the finest breakfasts in town (seriously, we have awards!), we keep our rooms clean and fresh, and we have most of the afternoons and evenings to do with as we please.
Except this summer...
