Posted something new. Think the notification got screwed up. This is what I get for being a chicken.
All is not lost; the unconquerable will, and study of revenge, immortal hate, and the courage never to submit or yield: and what else is not to be overcome?

Aileron. I've talked about it for the past year or so in the occasional blogpost, aye? For better or for worst, it's going to hit Fimfic sometime this summer. I'm currently working with an artist regarding cover art, I've been working through editing stages and fixing scenes that had to change back when I removed a major plotpoint, but it's getting there.
Something that's bugged me for literally forever is the assessment by a lot of people that 'it's just haters'. I can count thousands of instances where I've seen authors or artists (or my sister) say that the only reason their story isn't getting a positive reception is because people hate them or their work, regardless of their quality. Well, time for me to tackle why that isn't the case as often as people claim. In fact, I'd wager that it isn't even a .1% occurrence
Ah! One more follower, then I hit triple digits. Hopefully I'll be able to get a story up by that time, or else I think all of my follows up till this point from seventy or something like that are because of forum stuff.
Whelp. I just got off the plane from Seattle to China. And then slept for twelve hours, which is significantly more than I usually get. Anyway, because it's really hard to focus on the Gathering Storm when a) you can't turn on your kindle light for fear of waking people, and b) the plane was rocking so hard I spent about an hour and a half trying to eat fried rice, I ended up watching some movies I should have seen earlier. And I wrote a bunch. There was that too.
So, as of recently, I've been reviewing over at First Glance Reviews. Basically, we read the first chapter/fifteen hundred words, depending upon the reviewer, and explain how we think that works on hooking the reader and delivering a good story. If that concept sounds like something you could get behind, consider checking the group out.
If you haven't yet, please check out Sweetstrokes. Dude's an awesome artist, plus he did my avatar.
So, one topic that I’ve seen come up a few times is the ‘rainbow tags,’ which basically means you’ve got five or six tags of various colours, basically making it a muddled rainbow. Generally, this isn’t a good thing. Why? Thead copy at Pitfalls.
Hi there, me again. I ended up starting that group dedicated to explaining common pitfalls, and why they're controversial, to new users. If you think that the idea's one worth following, consider checking out the group or just spreading the word. Thanks.
Do you think it'd be worth making a group dedicating to helping new users get acquainted to various etiquette and common pitfalls on this site? I.E. Explaining basic writing ideas that people come out with that are always shot down by the site, and why they're (usually) poor quality? Not so much dedicated to trying to teach certain writing techniques or whatnot, just helping new users understand basic site rules and writing mistakes and why they're that way?
