Okay, hello, FimFiction!

Now, I understand that some of you ponies will be mad at me for not appearing in a very long time. :twilightsheepish: Eh-he...erm, however, I must explain that school got very time-consuming and I tried to find time to read other stories, work on my own, and manage my groups, but it grew impossible. I wish I could've informed you sooner that I was taking a break. I sincerely apologize for that.

Hey... guess what.
I'm following you back.

WHY U FOLLOW MEEE?

Fantasia Archsage...no problem! You rock! :pinkiesad2:

Thank you so much for the follow, very much appreciated! :) I also joined the group, thanks for letting me know.

I was looking through the New Groups, and I thought a group that was centered around contests would be interesting.

However, I don't know how you expect to get into the 'Trending' groups list without anyone being able to join the group.

Just about ever group/forum holds monthly contests. You're going to need to set yourself apart from those before anyone has any reason to pay any mind to your group. Perhaps hold different categories for fic contests at once?

You might go by word count, genre, or both. It's probably fairer to not mix up one-shots with novel-length fics, or tragedies/sadfics with comedies.

This probably goes without saying, but community polls are a shoddy way of going about contests. They can be exploited, and it usually comes down to who's campaigned the most. Judges are best--it doesn't have to be any more than a panel of three judges. If you decide to hold multiple contests, you wouldn't have to participate in all of them yourself . . . you can bring in different judges for different contests. The people you bring in, however, will determine how respected these contests are, and the forum in general. If you bring in horrible writers, or just random people as judges, you'll lose clout pretty fast.

Lastly, it might do well for the forum to keep tabs on other contests. This may come in the form of a stickied 'news feed' that reports on other forums contests, and links to their contest threads. This would help establish the group as a contest 'hub'.

Thank you so much for the follow! I don't know how it happened, but thanks! :pinkiehappy:

1092142 why thank you. I will be reading your stories soon.
