This story is a sequel to My Empire of Dirt

Principal Celestia has had her hands full since taking a magically mute Sunset Shimmer. It hasn't been that long since the Fall Formal, and she's still trying to figure out basic communication with her student, let alone how to get her anything remotely like a Hearth's Warming present.
A hastily dashed off letter to her pony counterpart suddenly launches her on a night of adventure that will force her to question everything she thought she knew about Sunset Shimmer and how she can help the pony-turned-girl.

You're kinda going to have to read at least the first few chapters of My Empire of Dirt for this to make much sense. This story is considered canon to Empire.

I was originally going to write this as a one-shot, but once I hit 10,000 words, I figured I'd better break it up into chapters.

• Rarity, having finally reconciled with her estranged "sister" Chrysalis

They will be tasked with a mission familiar to them all, but in an alien world, with strangers that are almost their friends, in a hostile nation, and the fate of an entire world in their hooves.

Our protaganist's life (mine) turns from dramatic to tragic in a single moment...but then an out-of-left-field event happens, and I find myself in an alternate universe version of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic where the only difference seems to be Queen Chrysalis hatches a new queen years before the 1,000th Summer Sun Celebration...and I'm that new queen.

Jumping in on this particular bandwagon. Tagged "Gore" for the opening chapter (and possibly later chapters) and "Sex" because you can't mention any part of the reproductive process without the sex tag on this site.

It started out innocently enough; Canterlot High's boldest and brightest working on a special Senior Project as one last feather in their cap and improving relations between the human and pony worlds.

"Relations" wasn't supposed to be quite this literal, though, and that everyone ended up where they were in her office with the best of intentions only brought to mind the old phrase, "The road to Hell..."

When Principal Celestia suggests to Princess Twilight that she assign a representative in the inevitable event that the government takes an interest in a portal to another world on her school's campus, Twilight sends a mare with lots of experience traveling and dealing with beings of all stripes, plus the ego to keep from being cowed by agents of a foreign government. Besides, Trixie could use a...third chance, after all.
Meanwhile, the student Trixie is being disciplined. Her punishment? Escorting a new student around the school for at least 30 days. That student? Twilight Sparkle, new transfer from Crystal Prep.

AUTHOR'S NOTE - I've been made aware that readers are unaware that this is blatant self-insert Mary-Sue at it's worst. Oh, yes, plus LOTS of OCs. No really, it's really obvious and blatant. I'd rather you be aware of that now and simply leave than waste your time and give it a downvote because you don't like self-inserts, Mary-Sues, or OCs.

Humans go to sleep, then wake up as small, sentient equines in all the colors of the rainbow and beyond. Some are capable of flight, some capable of using what can only be called magic. All are recognized as being some variant of pony from the popular TV show, "My Little Pony - Friendship is Magic."

Introduced into this chaos is one who is chosen to be a leader by whatever force has been converting humans into ponies. This former human must now grow into the role, for the very fate of millions of ponies now lies in her hooves.

[Author's Note: This is very blatant self-insert with shades of Mary Sue, and by admitting I have the problem I'm taking the first step to solving it. ;) Also, this has nothing to do with The Conversion Bureau, which I haven't read and understand to be quite enjoyable.]
