Merry Christmas!

Last month my family moved into a new house. Unboxing the basic necessities took a few hours. Getting an internet connection took four weeks.
You don't really appreciate a paltry 20 Mbps DSL connection until you've spent a month living in fear of your cell phone plan's data cap. Last night I finally finished reading the backlog of posts on EqD, and my fimfic feed. Now I just need to see about the 1600+ stories on my Read It Later list…

That's not going to stop my final two stories of the year from being published, though

Today, Spike is starting a nine chapter adventure which will update Monday through Friday. Once that concludes, he'll finish off the year with a little holiday romance packed with cute.

I'm still moving. I mean that both in the sense that I'm still alive, and that my living room is packed to the ceiling with boxes. Apparently it's also Thanksgiving or something.

I've got some exciting stuff on be way, though. I have two multi-chapter stories slated for release in December, which you'll hear more about just as soon as I have access to the internet via something other than my phone.

I’m not one to write reviews. I’m much better at communicating through the telling of stories. Still, for Crusaders of the Lost Mark I’m going to give it a shot, simply because I feel like I might have something useful to say. Real life has also worn me down to the bone lately, and that means I'm not above blasting out opinions riddled with adverbs and copyedit errors.

My wife and I were out hiking the other day. As the trail we were on passed behind a residential area, we heard someone starting up something gas-powered, most likely a lawn mower. This is the conversation that followed (or as much of it as I can remember) as we walked down an otherwise quiet hiking trail with no one else in sight:
“Don’t worry, it’s probably just a chainsaw salesman.”
“Probably wearing a hockey mask.”
“And going door to door.”
“And giving hands-on demonstrations.”

I don’t like writing status updates. Still, since two months have slipped by I figure I’m due. For the past couple months, real life hasn’t been very conducive to writing, or de-stressing at all, really. Just as the pressure started to ease up, the real sucker punch came: my principal beta reader and idea sounding board extraordinaire is leaving the fandom. The already solitary activity of writing just got a whole lot lonelier.
