As Fluttershy shows Discord her first gray hair, he realizes that his beloved friend is getting older and offers her the ultimate gift.

While following the recently reunited PostCrush on their new tour, a severe storm leaves Sunset and Pinkie Pie in a motel room with nothing to do. Pinkie Pie discovers a chess set and asks Sunset to teach her how to play while they wait for the power to come back on.

Horizon lays beaten and ultimately held in a cell beneath Canterlot Castle. Left with three days before trial, he finds self reflection when Pinkie Pie pays him an unexpected visit.

When a prison transport comes to a violent conclusion near Canterlot High, three dangerous convicts inadvertently escape through the school's portal and into Equestria. Taking on powerful new forms to compliment their already deadly nature, Twilight turns to Sunset for help in dealing with this foreign threat. Sunset quickly realizes the scope of what they are dealing with and calls upon Hunter to help her save her original world from these dangerous new enemies. Along the way, Sunset begins to realize just how human she has become and sees the fallout when the human world and Equestria collide.

Prince Gwyn, last surviving heir to the throne of Griffonstone, returns to the home he's never known with plans and promises to see the fallen city restored to its former glory. The royal griffon has much on his to-do list; including bridging the gap between Equestria and Griffonstone by seeking the Princesses aid, orchestrating a massive international treaty and... oh yeah, announcing his intent to marry Celestia.

Mr. Fetlock frequents the art auctions of Canterlot and his latest acquisition proves to be more than just paint and canvas.

It begins with the report of a break-in on the news and leads into a mystery that Sunset and her friends find themselves looking into. At the same time, a new student at Canterlot High begins making waves that ripple across the student body. Sunset begins to question just who this boy is as their sleuthing starts to point to him being involved.

When a mysterious zebra appears in Ponyville, the darkness of Zecora's past is brought to light. With Apple Bloom and her friends at her side, Zecora finds to strength to face this threat head on and bury the demons of her past once and for all.

Spike receives an invitation in the mail for the first annual dragon festival, an event that he has been corresponding with Ember about for some time. As he prepares to travel with her to the dragon lands, Ember asks Twilight to join in on the event as well. Furthermore, as Ember and Spike begin their trip they happen upon a new dragon who says that he, like Spike, was born and raised outside the dragon lands.

After an accident while flying in Twilight's balloon, Starlight finds herself on an uncharted island. Assuming the island to be uninhabited, she tries to sort her situation out only to discover that she isn't completely alone as a mysterious pony comes to her aid.
