When Daring Do's adventures come to a close in Equestria, and A.K Yearling stops the story she is confronted by Twilight and Rainbow Dash. They ask her to continue the story even if Yearling cannot continue them herself.

The first thing that you need to know about what is going to be said in this document, the events unfold as told here, while days or weeks may have past in between these ponies daily lives, it will seem as a turn of a page in this casefile. I've recruited you, the reader, to try and solve this mystery, the hope of the Apple family relies on you. The first document will be put up and the second won’t be put up for few days, this pattern will continue until I've given you everything that we have.

Star Swirl is standing in front of a line of stallions, he is going to have to choose who he is to teach. The Princess has even come to oversee the choosing. Sombra had many things in store for the Crystal Ponies, but since the day the Crystal Empire returned, no one has been willing to retell the tales of that time. Now, Twilight is given the chance to do so, she meets with a Crystal Pony willing to retell those tales. They go back in time and Twilight see's for herself what Sombra's Crystal Empire really was.

When a librarian shows up on Twilight's door to gather all of the books in her library, it isn't handled well. She has to leave and get her mind off of it, but that doesn't exactly work out either. Twilight is confused and desperate to see her books again; she can't think straight. Will she make it through the 3 day period needed before she can get her books back? Will they be different? Will there be any damage done to the books? It's just too much for Twilight.
