This is the story of Eva, a young former Top Ranger, and her partner Pokémon, Zero, and how they first met Gene and Belle on Earth, and how they reunited in Equus years later, with their forms radically changed.

For close to 1,000 years, I've come to call Earth my home. I've traveled with my companions -humans and animal alike- all over Europe and North America. I've been the guardian of gypsy children, an enslaved family's ray of hope, and a disabled girl's therapist. I've seen horrific acts of nature that don't harm me, but have taken my loved ones away from me one by one. To say my life has been that of pain and heartbreak is an understatement, but I would never change it.

One day, a being of pure light comes to me in a dream, telling me that the questions that have haunted me since the day I came into the world can be answered. With a heavy heart, I leave my home and am transported to a strange country called Equestria, where I quickly discover that its main inhabitants are colorful equine! The voice in my dreams tells me to find them if I want answers, but I have no idea where to look for them or what they even look like! What have I gotten myself into?

It is the year of 1975. Melody, a young human girl, always wanted to better understand the night sky and the secrets it held. Studying in order to become an astrologist, she travels the globe to observe the different constellations and views of the people who live under them. On the night of a meteor shower in Cairo, Egypt, she wishes upon a shooting star, asking to be led to a place of great night skies no human has ever seen. However, as the saying goes; "Be careful what you wish for."
Melody awakens the next morning to find herself as an alicorn filly with no memory of who she is or once was in Canterlot nearly 40 years before the time of Twilight and her friends. She is discovered by Princess Celestia and taken under her wings. Will Melody ever regain her memories, or is she doomed to be forever in the dark?
