Celestia controls the Sun, but she controled the Moon in Luna's absence.

Cadance and Twilight I would say they are Demigods. Cadance is Luna and Celestia's niece, she is an alicorn so far only mares are alicorns in the series. Twilight fulfilled her destiny and became one
