There's all sorts of things about the show I love, but one of the hardest to explain in just a few words is the utter genuineness FIM sometimes exhibits.
Writer/Developer for the official MLP trading cards and collectible card game, EQD columnist, retired founding staff of BronyCon and the Humble Brony Bundle, and generally an okay sorta guy!
Most of you are probably asleep or away, so you never saw it live, but... oops!
*My newest story's original title was "Rainbow Dash Doesn't Stand a Chance."
*My newest story's original tagline was "Run, Rainbow Dash, run! Pinkie Pie's coming for you..."
*The cover art for my newest story could definitely be construed as Pinkie holding Dash down against her will in a NON-cute manner.
*My nickname is, unfortunately, Cupcakes. I really should have changed it when I had the chance... :|
That feel when you haven't written in months, and you tell yourself, "Okay, today I'm going to write!" And then you don't.
But the next day you do! And you're up until 3 in the morning writing!
And it takes you like three hours to write only 1200 words and when you wake up you realize that you aren't going to use any of those words.
That feel, man.
I realized I should probably mention here that I'm running Registration (and charity efforts, and the info booth, wheeee) at BronyCon so I'll be easily found there if you want to say hi! I'll be the only person with a Staff shirt on who is 6'6" tall, has brown hair, and wears glasses.
But seriously, say hi! Please? Pretty please?
Okay, so, if your story is ever rejected by Equestria Daily, and you are sure it should be on there, but the pre-readers are like, "You story is abysmal and your mother would be ashamed of you," there's a secret to get approved no matter what. Just reply to your rejection letter like this and everything will be okay!
If that doesn't work, send pictures of plot.
Zecora Does Ponyville was part of this event, where we got a prompt and had Monday through Friday to write and upload our story. There's some good stuff there, and lots of playful twists on the prompts given, so if you want to see what EQD pre-readers whip up when they only get a week to write and edit their story, go take a peek!
