Back from my weekend in Baltimare! And it was a good one. In general, I mostly resisted the siren's call of the Dealer's Hall and only acquired two T-shirts. Almost gave in to the temptation to buy myself a Twilight plushy, though. It was quite the near thing. And I think the Bag o' General Geekery (the khaki Derpy-eyed 'Express Yourself' bag covered in a ton of pins and buttons representing assorted fandoms) shed a couple buttons. I swear they're all trying to escape half the time. I arrived
EDIT: Not taking a break. Not quite sure how so many of you got that impression.
I'm not quitting the fandom, so those of you in the process of having a heart attack should promptly stop doing so. On the other hoof, the last time I quit the fandom, I followed it up by writing about 25,000 words of one of my best stories within two weeks. Don't expect that either.
So with a couple one-shots under my belt over the last few weeks and relatively few longer-term fics in the works, I'm thinking about what to work on next and I have an embarrassment of inspiration. Three new possible story ideas. I thought I'd toss them over to you to get feedback on what you'd like to see next. I cannot guarentee your feedback will be the only deciding factor, but I'll take it into consideration.
Your choices are:
There Are Six Lights
[Dark]
Do you like reading?
Of course you do. You're on a website devoted to the written word. But do you remember how you got into it? The parent or teacher who inspired you to make the initial effort to figure out how to decipher those odd collections of squiggles that have the power to build worlds and yank you away from your day to day life? Or maybe it wasn't someone you knew yourself, but a TV show. You know, something like Reading Rainbow.
So, turns out out that Hard Reset is the top story on Fimfic, if you go by their Browse-> Top-> All Time category. Sorry, Hoopy!
Honestly, it's a bit confusing. I mean, I'm proud of the story, but I never expected it to become THIS famous. I consider myself a pretty humble guy, but I'll probably be soaking in this particular achievement for quite a while. Makes me think I should try my hand at non-pony writing too, maybe make a career out of this.
