And now, having crawled though the long, dark night of November, I emerge blinking into the ... um ... slightly longer but less obsessive night of December.
That's 50,000 sweet, sweet words of fiction. Of pony fiction. That means some holiday-season goodies for you!

Despite working in the tech industry for my day job, I've never been very high-tech with my fanfic tools. All you need for a story is the ability to type in text, right? A few basic formatting commands are nice (bold and italics), as well as the ability to synchronize your story between different computers so you can work on it no matter where you are (Dropbox is simple and robust for that). I've never needed or wanted anything more fancy.
... is anyone out there with experience in Old English willing to lend me a hoof? I'm 7,000 words into my historical adventure-slash-crack crossover, and the three tribes of ponies speak different languages, which I've chosen to represent via different historical dialects of English. I have to say I'm blown away by the reception No Regrets has been getting. About 36 hours after being featured on Equestria Daily, it's up to 76 upvotes -- and 71 favorites. At one point it had more favs than ups. Apparently, the folks who like it really like it.
Last weekend, I submitted the final edit of a short story called "No Regrets" to Everfree Northwest. Without giving too much away, it's about Luna and Celestia, and a big choice they made that affected both their lives.
