No knowledge of either universe is required to enjoy this story, although the authors highly recommend reading the Divergent book series written by Veronica Roth.

Note: The magical artifact Trixie finds is based on the Dungeons and Dragons item called a “Rod of Wonder.” This rod is a magical device that whenever used, casts a magical spell that is completely random. The authors used a “Rod of Wonder Generator” from this website.
