2025181 very welcome :) I know Spike can get some hate in the fandom, but he's still one of my favorites when he's written right. I noticed it especially in "Variables" and "Every Little Bit", it seems like you've perfectly captured the transition between child and teen, at least insofar as dragons go.

Somebody just on the cusp of growing up, who may sometimes hold his arms out on the balcony and pretend to be flying, but is starting to form really complex ideas about the world and his place in it. Having babysat for that age group before, it just struck me as something very true to life.
