'Piracy'
Wait, did all of that actually happen then or was it all Pinkies hyperactive imagination? So the whole narrative was the nightmare, with the bad bit being how realistic it all seemed with the believable backstory? I want to believe this but I need closure! (On a more serious note fuck Luna and her justification. Torture is very different to zapped into another dimension).

Sorry, but it wasn't a dream. Using the elements of harmony creates an equal and opposite reaction - it drove Luna mad, and this is what it did to Pinkie. It created an opposite personality, Pinkamena, who is just the same pony that Pinkie is; smart, fun, creative, but with her motivation (smiles) flipped (screams).

That's how we get the story title. Given the facts laid out in the story, is what they're doing ethical? You clicked the link when Luna explained what would have happened had they not used the elements, so you know exactly how bad it would have been. And given that they're not harming society, that the copies aren't missed, its kind of a 'tree falls in the forest' situation... or like breeding animals so you can kill and eat them. We gave them life, and they wouldn't exist without us, so that makes it okay to eat them or do whatever else we want... right?

Pinkamena really is the pony we know and love, she even dated the last Twilight before the end, and she's sad that she doesn't have any friends of her own. She knows that if she keeps doing this she'll die, leaving only Pinkie, and she even says she hopes to go to heaven (for her) where she can fulfill her needs and still be friends with everyone. Twilight makes the classic pass - come to the good side - not realizing what she is asking of Pinkamena, so Pinkamena gives her a chance to prove it. She can escape this hell and live! If she can convince the Pinkie she knows and loves to commit suicide. Pinkie awakes in the horrible cave thinking that she's dreaming. Her friends have already told her that her dreams can't hurt her. She's scared, but she believes them, so she puts the knife to her neck... 'I just need to wake up...'

The end revels that Twilight couldn't do it; she couldn't change who she is any more than Pinkamena could, so as the mane six celebrate the success of their play, one of Twilight is still trapped in that cave in the mountain, cold and alone, waiting for Pinamena to return...
