Golden Oaks Book Club mini-review #3: Princess Celestia Gets Mugged (spoiler warning) · 2:33am Nov 7th, 2014

Story three of the Golden Oaks Book Club had us pick up an older story by an author with site longevity, so I was interested to see what he could come out with before he became the powerhouse he is today. A bit of comedy? Sure, why not? Here is my review of Princess Celestia Get Mugged!

Main Reviews #8: Foundations (spoiler warning) · 4:09pm Oct 29th, 2014

Wait a minute... This isn't Sunshine and Fire! :twilightoops:

Yeah, about that... you know what? This is my blog and I'll do what I want to. And right now I want to review Foundations, by PaulAsaran. This dude has a pretty good track record with me so far—hell, I've edited a long-runner and three of his mini-stories—so I'm expecting big things. Let-sa go!

Day three of Stiggerzz's and my time in Sydney saw us headed to Hyde Park to once again meet up with Slorgy, Ausbrony, Autocharth, and many others for the second of two miniature events: PikaCon!

SalvageCon, woo! · 12:37pm Sep 27th, 2014

For the past 40 hours I have been on the opposite side of the country to where I live, in a gigantic, alien city known as Sydney.
I've spent a good 25 of them walking many laps around the CBD; I must have covered at least 30 kilometres on foot by now, perhaps more.
I've eaten a strange variety of food, going out of my comfort zone quite a few times.
I've have seen Guardians of the Galaxy on the world's largest Imax cinema screen with more bronies at a time than I have ever seen before.

Hoo, boy.
It's been a while, hasn't it? When was my last review? eight, nine weeks ago?
I know I said I would do Sunshine and Fire next, but I had this on my favourited list for months and I finally made myself get to it two days ago.

Main Reviews #6: Que Sera, Sera (spoiler warning) · 2:31pm Jun 25th, 2014

Whoa man, this feels good. It's nice to tick a story off my read-later list that isn't 100k+ words. Seriously, the shortest story I've read off it since starting this endeavour has been Secrets Shine Brighter, with 32k words. Inversely, Asylum tops the lengthy read list with 168k words. Now, I'm all for adventure tales and long, emotional journeys, but it's not too often that a short story (<20k words) pulls me in its direction. Of course, there are exceptions.

Main Reviews #5: It's A Dangerous Business, Going Out Your Door (spoiler warning) · 5:56am Jun 22nd, 2014

Lookie! It's review time with your old mate, Adren. I know I've not exactly been keeping my promise about reading a story every week, but I haven't exactly made it easy on myself. The vast majority of stories on my list happen to be over 50k words in length; some reach close to or exceed 100k. Between finding time to write five stories of my own (:pinkiegasp:) and a few life issues, actually being in the frame of mind to settle down and read is quite difficult sometimes.

First of all, I would like to beg forgiveness from you guys in relation to this review's absurd tardiness. I have had a lot going on in the past three weeks, not only with trying to write five(!) stories simultaneously but also finishing off other commitments (like finally getting around to finishing off edits for Trixie vs Equestria at long last) and some stupid real life stuff. Eh, can't be helped I suppose.
