I just checked and the Upheaval series as a whole is now at at combined total of 418,330 words (198,911+219,419). With edits, hopefully I can slash around 50,000 or so words from the entirety of the fic, more as it continues to grow. That is if I don't end up adding as much as I am taking away. Fallout: Equestria (which people keep bringing up in discussions about the fic) has around 600k+ words. I really don't want to reach that length, but I might at this rate.

On chapter progress - A new distraction has arrived: Guild Wars 2. Diablo 3 quickly lost its charm and I had thought that I'd never touch an MMORPG after quitting WoW, but my brother bought the game and let me try it out. I also played the first Guild Wars so I wanted to see what they had done with it. I enjoyed it, especially how they removed the typical tank/healer/dps roles in most MMOs. Now, the urge to get 100% completion on yet another map is starting to compete with my writing.

First, on the recent updates - originally, I had planned on having a chapter called "A Short Calm" which would have a section for each of the mane six. When Applejack's (which is more of Apple Slice's) section reached 2.2k words, I decided to break it down into pairs. On updates - deadline for my first research paper is on March 20. The second one is on March 23. Very little fan fiction writing going on while I run headlong into these deadlines. Some editing has been going on, however. BP chapters 1-3 have gotten plenty of polish thanks to q97randomguy. The next chapter has a Fluttershy section and Fluttershy poses the most problems for me (was that a shock?) so that may also affect its completion time.

On the next chapter - 500 words in. That's right, 500 words after all this time. The semester's almost over so the final papers are in the works. It's not just Rl stuff, however. I've been going through the older chapters, trying to fix errors as I see them. So the chapter has been purposefully delayed while I tweak all 90 chapters. Even then, I know there's plenty of errors abound.
