Memorial Day comes once more to Equestria. After the Disaster that was the Royal Wedding, fresh wounds come to many ponies. Ponyville a small town at the edge of the Everfree has its fair share of veterans, today they think of absent friends.

As the Summer Sun Celebration approaches, Princess Celestia sends the young Guard Lieutenant Twilight Sparkle to Ponyville to make final security and preparation checks. In Canterlot the Princess's Apprentice, Shining Armor, works to uncover the hints of an anarchist movement striking at the City's heart. When Night falls the young Princess Cadance is left trying to hold the heart of Equestria together in her aunt's absence

The Central Griffin Kingdoms have always harbored a resentment towards Equestria. When a new Chancellor unites them into a new Griffin Empire he sets his sites on taking revenge on the Ponies. Striking hard at the Northern Equestrian cities he brings something unseen in Equestria for hundreds of years. War has fallen over our peaceful land.

An idea I've been bouncing around for awhile. It will be loosely based off of World War II. Please address any complaints about this to me in a PM, I'd prefer the comments section stay clear of any arguing of ideology.

This is the third time Queen Chrysalis has struck and though she managed to take the castle she was unable to full keep the city. Now as the Elements of Harmony do their thing in the background we focus on the other heroes of the story.
