How everyone should write their characters · 3:24pm Feb 27th, 2021

The following piece of writing advice comes directly from Aaron Ehasz, lead writer of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Just so you know that, this doesn't originate from me. But I thought I'd share it because I agree with it completely.

A:TLA has some pretty great characters, and I'm sure any writer who aspires to create equally great characters within their own works of fiction often wonder how to do it. Luckily, Mr. Ehasz gave us a simple guideline.

I might need to see a therapist · 6:29am Jan 7th, 2021

So... I'm not sure why or how, but I get the feeling that I'm becoming somewhat depressed, and that I might need to see a therapist about it. You know that feeling, when you used to be a kid and had lots of fun playing with toys, but if you tried to play with the same toys as an adult you'd get no enjoyment from it whatsoever? That's my feeling to most things right now. Just can't seem to get happy or animated about anything, even with things that I normally like, such as my favourite foods.

Apropos of the Sinners – Update 14 · 5:43am Jan 2nd, 2021

So I've finally published the first chapter of part 7, and I gotta say, this might just be my masterpiece... until I write something better 6 months later. However, don't expect the next chapter till summer this year (2021). I only wanted to get the first chapter out of the way. I fully intend to write all the chapters of this arc first so that they're all ready when I start publishing them.

Writing questions about me · 9:56am Dec 21st, 2020

Thought I’d jump on this supposedly recent bandwagon, cuz why not.

1. Tell us about your current project(s) – what’s it about, how’s progress, what do you love most about it?

Pretty much all of my attention is centered towards my current fic:

TApropos of the Sinners
(Featured on EqD) A dark and tragic event occurred some years ago in Ponyville, and it involved an equally dark and dysfunctional family. They are still discussed among us to this day.

Ideas for new fics · 3:44pm Nov 26th, 2020

Here's some ideas for potential fics I may or may not be writing in the foreseeable future, that is, ideas that I've actually thought about and developed somewhat in my head.

Luna fic

I can't decide between a serious character study of the night princess and her regrets of Nightmare Moon, or a satirical fic that mocks all of the Luna sadfics on this site. Or maybe a combination of the two.

Time loop fic

"Don't Look at the Fog" by SpitFlame - Review · 1:19pm Nov 24th, 2020

TDon't Look at the Fog
Twilight wakes up one day to find that things are different. Everypony is gone, and there's a persistent sheet of fog dominating all of Ponyville. But that's the least of her worries. It only escalates from there.

Today I'm gonna be reviewing a horror story, published a few years ago, called Don't Look at the Fog by SpitFlame.

Wait a minute, SpitFlame?! Do I know him?

So... yeah.

I did this thing. Turns out I write like Tolstoy. I have no idea how reliable this site is, but it's still pretty neat.

Here's what I put in to have analyzed:

Apropos of the Sinners – Update 13 · 5:49am Nov 21st, 2020

I started writing this all-OC fic with 8 "parts" in mind, all with a projected 200k words. But now I've realized that parts 1–6 was essentially a bunch of setup—very intricate setup, but setup all the same—to part 7, which will be a whole novel-length story on its own, easily going over 100k words. Heck, part 7 pretty much is the story. Everything before that was merely the appetizer.

Update: Why does God let bad things happen? · 6:59am Oct 6th, 2020

As some of you may (or may not) know, I have a very big interest in theology, particularly Christianity because I'm a westerner. And so sometimes I'll think through theological problems in order to come to some conclusion. Sometimes I do, other times I'm not so lucky. But in both cases it's always helpful to write down your thoughts if you deem them serious enough.
