reflective vagrant

A closet brony trying his amateur hand at some artistic expression on the net. If you think one of my stories should be in a group you're already in, I'd be flattered. (or confused if it didn't fit)

(contains items from the prequel, but also connected to the MGIE (1,2,3) series and should be enjoyable for people that have read either, but reading both is not required to enjoy this short story.)
Lightning Dust had been avoiding home since her darkest hour. But she finally has built up the courage to face her family after all this time. She knows they've accepted her choices. She knows they aren't ashamed of her in the slightest and never were. She knows her parents have been worried sick about their baby, but have let Lightning Dust have her freedom. The invite to visit has been left open all this time, waiting patiently. She's finally ready and there is no reason not to be going back to her childhood home for a brief visit. After all, it was her father's birthday and they had so much to catch up on.

...So why was it so hard to step off that train?

This story is a sequel to Meta Gamer in Equestria: The Blight of Bane.

(Red tags are for minor presence. They are not the focus but, yes, present.)
Having been freed, Moss now seeks what to do with his life, both as the only legal ape like being from another world, and as a now competent spell caster.
Yet dangers still lurk in the shadows and he can't fully shake off the fears of something bringing harm to this new world he hesitates to call home. The one thing he is still not fully certain of is if the threat he feels is somewhere out there, or inside himself.

Third and final installment of the Meta Gamer in Equestria series. I've tried to make either of the other books decent starting points, both MGiE: Odyssey and MGiE: The Blight of Bane. But reading MGIE: The Blight of Bane will be needed to properly understand this book.

This story is a sequel to Meta Gamer in Equestria: Odyssey

A human has been transformed by a god of the D&D universe and sent to Equestria, where said human found it to be in the middle of a war with humanoids like himself. After earning the natives' trust and aiding them as best he could, he is finally asked to do something that doesn't bode well for his moral compass: Join in on the fight.
Disclaimer: This story is in the same continuity as MGiE: Odyssey, and I will be trying to write these stories to where you can read either of them first without getting lost, but both will reference the other and reading both will get you a fuller picture.
Profanity tag placed for technicalities, but not a focus.

Granny Smith ran out of sugar in the school kitchen and absentmindedly told Pinkie Pie to go fetch her another sack from the store house across the school. With everybody in the school having come to recognize her explosive tendencies with just sprinkles and cupcakes, chaos ensues.

This is a side story to my tale, Meta Gamer in Equestria Link to most closely linked book.

Quintessence: The element beyond elements, sometimes called divine or infernal energy depending on the disposition of the wielder. Its first known presence was when it was used in ancient times by the followers gods that were foreign to Equis. These foreign gods came with promises of peace and prosperity, but only brought war, turmoil and strife. It was only by the united efforts of the servants of the Animus Mundi(nature), the wizards of that age and a select few former followers of the old gods—scorned by their masters for questioning them—that the influence of these gods was banished from Equis.

Knowledge of Quintessence itself today is highly classified, known by those that sit on the thrones of sufficiently powerful nations, have acquired the knowledge in servitude of the Animus Mundi or by decades of study as royal wizards. Besides that, the only other people that know of it are the members of a secret order dedicated to preserving the methods of the turncoat priests that aided Equis to make sure knowlege of Quintessence was still available for the defense of Equis, should the old gods ever return.

So what happens when the keepers of this energy, the Servants of the Animus Mundi and modern Wizards all feel a disturbance at the same time, wreaking with the taint of one of these old gods? Can the children of Equis meet this potential threat before it escalates? Or will this disturbance mark the return of the old gods?

A D&D gamer is sucked into the land of Equestria in the form of his favorite custom D&D character, with absolutely no understanding of why or how.
What will happen to our pseudo protagonist? Will he go feral from being hunted? Will he find allies? Even if he does, would they still accept him if they discover the cruelty of his homeworld? Will he manage to reach civilization before he starves or goes insane? Or did he already go insane thinking he was in the body of an RPG character? And most importantly, "Why can't I cast any flipping spells!?"

Let the torture story* begin...

And if it wasn't clear: this is a D&D crossover. (5e rules for all those rules lawyers out there. Corrective comments welcome!)

To be swept off one's feet and be carried off into the sunset for a happily ever after. That's what many romances try to be. This one gets a swift drop kick out the window and lands face first onto a conveniently placed pile of manure instead. Join a young mare in love for an experience that isn't... quite the "into the sunset" moment that she's hoping for.

Author notes and disclaimers: No clop here. I wanted to try my hand at these often poorly handled tags and see if I can't break a cliché or two. Probably the only time I'll be using sex or anthro tags in my stories. (Yes, I know the image isn't anthro. I was going for expression vs lining up with the story's technicalities. If anyone wants to translate that expression to anthro, knock yourself out.) And a touch of comedy that isn't quite worth the comedy tag, as most my works tend to have.

She had tried to dismiss it as coincidence, that she's just learning healthy assertiveness and to not be a doormat. But she couldn't deny it anymore. Her friends told her that she was cured but she knew better. Her recent confidence boost wasn't from practice. It was the instincts of the monster still inside her, inching their way out. She knew this was something that she needed to address before it got out of control. The part that scared her the most was that she was starting to like it.

A short spin off tale of 'a compass for a lost dreamer' following Lightning Dust as she, due to a pink 4th wall breaker, lives an evening of Ditzy Doo's life through her wall eyes. Through the experience she learns a lot about Ditzy Doo, yet nothing.

Though reading the original story would help the reader understand a few little things, it is not necessary to enjoy the primary focus.

insert unofficial CHEESY tag.

Velvet has invited her old friend Condor over to her estate for an afternoon visit. But not is quite as it seems when a very strange companion he brings with him divulges what is just the 'tip of the iceberg' of a secret about Velvet's old friend.

An idea I had that I just don't have the inspiration to make into a full sized story. So I made it a short one.
However, I have given lexomancer permission to re-work this concept in his own story Love Untouchable for any that might be interested. I think he actually did a better job of writing it, if I'm to be honest.
