When Twilight Sparkle read her favorite Hearthswarming story to Starlight Glimmer, she only meant for it to change her student's opinion of the holiday. And it did.

Then Starlight mentioned the story to some of Twilight's guests.

And as it turns out, they know more about it then Twilight even did!

Ember expected to get a few admirers when she became the new dragonlord. Well, more than a few.

She didn't expect that a large number of them would be ponies that she had never even met.

And she really didn't expect them to write physically impossible stories about her and Spike.

She's got a lot of misconceptions to correct. More than she ever expected.

Nopony has heard from Fluttershy for three months. Not Rainbow Dash, not Rarity, not even Pinkie Pie. Her friends have been tending to the cottage and her animals, keeping it clean and organized, but even with Twilight's constant magic scans and a semi-constant guard search Equestria-wide, no hint has been found of where she went, how she vanished, or why she didn't tell anyone. Some ponies even think, in their darkest nightmares, that she might be dead.

Then she shows up one day, very definitely not dead, but just as definitely not the same as she was.

And does she have a story to tell. Boy, does she ever...

Love comes in many forms. There's the love for friends, love for family, love for romantic partners, that unconditional love that leaders have for their nations, and of course loved personal artifacts. Changelings feed off love, and while they prefer the love of romantic partners, any love will do in a pinch. And hey, they might just find love themselves sometimes.

Okay, first off, you don't get to call me Flurry Heart. Not unless you have special privileges which are only afforded to those who are related to me and/or are national heroes. Or, I guess, if you're that guard that mom sends after me...

Point is, I'm Skyla. Got it memorized? SKY. LA.

Now these are the stories of how I earned myself that name. And a few other titles. And look, maybe mom and dad say I'm just going through a phase, but I say PHASES ARE FOR WIMPS. This, is who I am!

And the only reason I'm using Circus-Cinnamon's photo is because I can't find any other photos with how I really feel on it. I mean seriously, crystal ponies, I'm yelling half the time, is it that hard to take an angry picture?!

MAGIC IS REAL blared the headlines. Every paper, news station, and current events website in North America explained the continent-wide transformation of society into formerly fictional creatures from a show meant to sell toys to little girls. As far as the public was concerned, a rogue agency masquerading as an FBI offshoot had experimented with an ancient artifact and accidentally triggered the event, after which the artifact vanished.

Of course, the details were a touch more complicated than that. But life, as they say, went on.

A new agency, scavenged together from the rogues, some victims, and a President handpicked trusted few, has been constructed to handle the new magical world. Now the paperwork is set, an office has been secured, people are being hired to handle the details, and across the nation abandoned buildings are being refurbished to accommodate the new Magical Administration and General Incident Constabulary. But no great change is accomplished without a few hiccups. And it's those hiccups that officers Leonard Harlow and Ray Stormcrow have been sent to deal with...

An explorative fic into the verse established by Shadowfame's Needs More Ponies trilogy.

Starlight Glimmer is repentant, on the path to reformation after she saw what her plan could have caused. She was thankfully talked down, all the possible futures she made prevented, all the changes to the past no longer existing.

At least... that's what everyone thinks. But magic isn't something to be abused.

There are always consequences.

Moondancer was not having a good day.

First, she'd broken her glasses. Again.

Then, Twilight Sparkle hadn't shown up to her party.

And then a crazy hallucinatory identical twin had started harassing her.

NO, Moondancer was not having a good day. At all.

Hate.

It is a powerful force. It can burn through the laws of the heart. It can warp the best of minds. It can torture the purest of souls.

In the end... all it needs is just the right spark.

Trigger warnings: Swords used for warfare, with all associated slicey-dicey. Fish horses popping limbs off non-human monstrosities. Bone-breaking baddies. Lots of creatures going squish and/or exploding. Horrific transformations, the kind that Lovecraft had nightmares about. Oh, and saucy millennium-old teenage girls who occasionally skinnydip.
