Piccolo Sky

I really should put something down here someday...

Series finale spoilers.

Many years following the War of the Bell, Equestria is at rest, the land is filled with creatures living in peace, and friendship and the elements of harmony rein supreme. Princess Twilight Sparkle has grown in both maturity and wisdom as well as power, and, as royal advisor, Spike could not be happier with his life.

If only there wasn't the once-a-year event which seems to hurt his princess and friend so badly...

Why does she keep putting herself through this?

An AU Equestria Girls fanfic.

In an alternate world of steam and gunpowder, the mysterious ruler known as Celestia is dead and the dark god Nightmare Moon has already sentenced half of Greater Everfree to the apocalypse. The future now depends on six strangers uniting before the world either falls into darkness or self-destructs.

Yet there are far greater forces at work than anyone realizes, and secrets far more terrible and destructive than any monster lie deep in the realms of eternal night. As the same power that brought the world to its knees becomes the means to fulfill the dreams of human ambition, what sort of future these six strangers will bring is called into question: a harmony of peace or a far greater cataclysm than the one currently facing the world.

Rainbow Dash's duties as a full Wonderbolt have found her in an unexpected role: officiating an annual race across the San Palomino desert. After learning that the race has a Wonderbolt legacy behind it, she discovers there is one racer there who has the stated aim of breaking that tradition: Lightning Dust, her old expelled fellow cadet from Wonderbolt Academy. Determined to protect the Wonderbolt record, Rainbow Dash enters herself in the race with the specific goal of keeping her old rival from winning. But when a disaster causes the two to end up stranded in the middle of the desert with no food, water, or shelter, will they be able to work together long enough to get out?

(Update: 11/5/2017 - Major shout-out to Rock-Mint-Swirl who was incredibly nice enough to do a fanart for this story, which you can see right here. It contains story spoilers so please read the fanfic first though.)

The Cutie Mark Crusaders have dealt with all kinds of ponies having trouble finding their true calling in life, but none can compare to the special request they receive from Princess Twilight Sparkle herself, or the shock they receive on discovering who it is: Fizzlepop Berrytwist, possibly the most hated and feared pony in generations. Can a pony who's spent most of her life rejecting her true calling possibly find it now? Can the Cutie Mark Crusaders help a pony who almost everypony else in Equestria has rejected?

Trust me, everyone! I've been doing this for years! No matter what's come up and caught me off guard to smack me upside of the head in the past...whether it be mortgages, foreclosures, or deaths in the family...I've always made sure to make Camp Everfree the most fun any camper could ever ask for!

And this year it's going to be more fun than ever! I guarantee it! Just relax and leave everything to me... After this season, you'll never leave...

Heh, I mean never want to leave, of course.

...Don't I?

The personal diary of Sunset Shimmer: from the days prior to being chosen by Princess Celestia as her new prize student, to her ascension through the School for Gifted Unicorns, to her corruption and lust for power, to her escape to and conquest of Canterlot High School, to her attempts at atonement, and finally her redemption.

After seeing "Rainbow Rocks", I wanted to do a Sunset Shimmer piece, but I couldn't think of a good stand-alone that wouldn't come off as another "Equestria Girls" clone. I think I could come up with a "good" story if I thought of it long enough, but I'm backlogged on fanfiction dot net and I wanted a quickie. This isn't my "best work" by far but hopefully it will interest people more in my more "dramatic" work...or, heck, even my "Two Background Ponies" series.

Just two background ponies...bah, you know the drill.

All 24 "Two Background Ponies Quickies" from my blog for all 26 episodes of Season Four (remember, two were two-parters, hence on 24 of them), now compiled in one collection with a bit of commentary in between each one. These were made once a week since November, each new one being written shortly after seeing the new episode for that week.

Enjoy!

Just a story about two background ponies going through a series of life-threatening misunderstandings and mishaps that makes them wish they had just stayed in the background quietly eating their cookies...or is it?

After ranting and raving about the fallacies of their colorful utopia, Incarlsistency and Sam-Listens-To-Carl's-Problems, the "heroes" of the epic trilogy that started with "Two Background Ponies Eating Cookies", finally find themselves thrust into an adventure of their own. After both being canned from their mundane, background pony jobs on the same day, Sam and Carl hatch a desperate scheme to make the money necessary to pay for Sam's upcoming wedding and avoid the wrath of Sam's homicidal/disapproving future father-in-law. Unfortunately, things will quickly escalate out of control for the duo when they discover the darker side of their idealistic world.

Big cities...gangs...magic...princesses...shakes...this story has it all!

Just a story about two background humans eating cookies...or is it?

After watching "Equestria Girls", I found a ton of material to use for a "third installment" in the "Two Background Ponies" saga. So much I almost couldn't fit it in. Naturally, if you haven't read "Two Background Ponies Eating Cookies" or "Two Background Ponies At A Donut Shop", the whole concept would probably be a mystery to you, so read those first. Again, I'd ideally like to see this on stage...but this one would require another big cast. Less props, though, considering its humans this time.

Just a story about two background ponies at a donut shop...or is it?

I wanted to do a sequel to "Two Background Ponies Eating Cookies" after seeing how popular it was, but I was short on material as I pretty much hit all my nuances with the show in the first installment. I basically had to change things up a bit. This might still work as an on-stage production, but it would have to be an ensemble (something more akin to what "Second City" might do) than just a dialogue.

I regret to say I don't think this is quite as good as the first. Since I am already aware of that, please don't overload the comments with things like: "Not as good as the first", "The first was better", "This was alright but the first was funnier", etc.
