It's been a year since the events of "Welcome Home, Twilight Sparkle!", what have our little humans been up to? How have their lives changed, and is it for the better?

After Pinkie Pie had her little fiasco with the mirror pond, the scientific urge to run tests on the area grew within Twilight. If only she had the time to do some experiments, but with everything that happens around Ponyville on a daily basis, and her new status of Princess, she doesn't seem to ever have any time. That is, until she earns her first vacation.

Big Mac always fit the stereotype that country folk were hard workers and dedicated to their jobs, everybody knew this as fact and would refuse otherwise when it came to the young man. What they didn't know, though, was that he fit a few other stereotypes as well. After a rather violent confrontation with his sister about her newly revealed sexual preferences, he decides he has to leave the Apple home and get away from all the disease he felt was wrought upon the farm.

After eight years of schooling in Canterlot, Twilight Sparkle and Spike, her best friend and High School drop-out, move to Ponyville. But things have changed since Twilight was last there. Her friends wont tell her what it is, but something is off about Applejack. She seems different and distant. There's a sadness in her eyes that Twilight has never seen, and she wants to get to the bottom of it.
