Set in the universe of Friendship is Optimal, years have passed since Celestia began her crusade to convert humanity into happy ponies.
Some still cling on to their humanity, however, and the alicorn AI works tirelessly to convince them to join her world of happiness and ponies.
Some, however, have reasons too good to merely let go.

Kathranis Shadowsong, Blademaster of a band of refugee elves, finds himself transported into the realm of Equus as the result of a misfired spell. Equus is in a time of strife following the rise of the Royal Pony Sisters over the land of Equestria, and many old nations fear the power of the self-crowned goddesses. Thrown into the mix are a new race of humans, orcs, and elves that find themselves teetering on the edge of war. Follow the elvish ranger as he finds his way through a new world filled with new friends, foes, and even new gods that he finds himself in contest with.

Set before the rise of Nightmare Moon. The opening scene (and some cursory background knowledge) is based loosely on the Haunted Lands trilogy by Richard Lee Byers. I highly recommend the series, as it is one of my favorite D&D reads.

With her and her sister’s retirement, Luna was left with but two things; her night sky, and her love for her sister. It was when her sister moved back to Canterlot to stay with Twilight Sparkle that she realized that a sister’s love wasn’t enough; she wanted more. So, saying her goodbyes, the lunar alicorn set off on a long march across Equestria. Decades pass, and when she exhausts Equestria, Luna begins traveling through dimensions.

A plague has swept through Equestria, forcing everyone to stay indoors for their safety. Resident bookworm Twilight Sparkle has no issue with a bit of quarantine, she's been meaning to catch up on some projects after all. Resident Princess of Friendship Twilight Sparkle however... she does not deal with the quarantine blues so well.
