Sharp Spark

Nothing says I miss you quite like war poetry carved in your door with a stanley knife.

24 hours, 16 fics. Prepare yourself for light comedy, experimental prose, and lots of strangely-written Applejack!

These originate from the Writeoff Association's minific contest, in which I and hazeyhooves attempted to write as many stories as possible. Some of them are good! Some of them are very bad! One of them even won the contest!

Now with additional author commentary :raritywink:

The aristocratic and well-to-do unicorn Flash Fog has made a wager that she could circumnavigate the globe in only eighty days. Thankfully, she will not have to make the journey alone. With the assistance of her loyal valet, Porter Stout, Madame Fog is ready to face any adventures the journey may lead to.

This is the story of one of those adventures.

Based on the game 80 Days. As such, this story is presented in a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure format, utilizing hyperlinks in each chapter rather than standard linear navigation.

The name's Slate. Straight Slate, detective by trade. It's no easy job, tracking down changelings on the cold city streets, but I'm good at what I do. I've been doing this a long time, ever since the attempted invasion at the royal wedding. But these days... These days, things are different. Something's rotten in the city of Canterlot, and one way or another I intend to get to the bottom of it. Even if it kills me.

Note: Comments are likely to contain spoilers as the story progresses. If you're starting from the beginning, I recommend avoiding them until you've caught up to the chapters in question.
