A unicorn opens her eyes. why am I laying down?

Looking up she sees a deep forest on each side, light filtering gently. Standing up she finds herself on a dirt path, stretching forward and behind her.

"Hello"

The unicorn looks behind her finding another pony standing there.

"Um, hello. Can you tell me where I am?

"Walk with me, my little pony."

Not wanting to be left alone she agreed and they both started down the path.

"What do you think of this place my little pony?"

Looking around the unicorn could only come to one conclusion.

"It’s beautiful. The air is so fresh, I can smell the trees. The sun feels worm, the breeze is pleasantly cool. Even the dirt road is soft. The greens and browns, every color is so... gentle."

The other pony giggled a little. "Yes I can see that."

"What’s you name?"

"Can you remember yours?"

The unicorn sank deeply into thought. She couldn’t remember anything, not even her name.

"No, so I guess it would be rude of me to ask you yours if I can’t give you mine."

"Not to worry my little pony, I think you will remember."

The unicorn and the other pony walk for a while simply enjoying the walk.

As the unicorn looked up at the branches filtering the light over the road she walked into a patch of sunlight.

"I think I remember something."

"Yes my little pony? What may that be?"

"I remember a white face, and wings that kept me worm."

"What do you think this pony meant to you?"

"She was my comfort. She gave me a purpose in life, a direction to go.”

She looked at the pony next to her.

“I’m happy you remember somepony so important to you.”

The two ponies continued to walk side by side. The unicorn remembered another who would do the same, no matter what.
“I think I remember another.”

“Oh?”

“Yes, this friend of mine would stay by my side, bringing me back from so many edges. No not a friend, family. A sibling almost.”

“That’s good.”

The unicorn giggled at such a simple answer, bringing another face.

“You remember another friend I see” the pony next to her said with a happy tone in her voice.

“Yes she… she would bring me happiness, lifting my spirits in the darkest times.”

“You are lucky to have had such a friend.”

“Yes, yes I am aren’t I?” The unicorn said with a smile.

As the two mares walked along the long road they were silent for a long while.

“My little pony, do you remember your name yet?”

The question saddened the unicorn.

“No… not yet. I hope I can soon though.”

The pony beside her smiled, “I do too.”

The unicorn felt a tug in her soul.

“Yeah.”

She looked at the trees again such a pretty green.

The other pony saw the unicorn smile.

“I had another friend. She would tell me what everything was, and bluntly. She didn’t hold back the truth, and guided me to my own.”

“And what is your truth?”

“I don’t remember…”

“Don’t worry, I’m sure you will.”

For a while more they continued, but in such a beautiful place the unicorn could not keep up the bad mood.

The mare noticed the breeze; it seemed to remind her of somepony.

“I had another friend; she would never let me down. Dependable and loyal, she taught me… she taught me heart.”

“What do you mean?”

The unicorn shook her head. “I’m not quite sure right now.”

The shadows of the trees danced playfully on the ground. The unicorn saw them and noticed the patterns.
An image tried to raise itself to the surface but failed, sighing she kept walking.

Not a moment later however, a single leaf fell onto her nose. The leaf was a vibrant green, almost clear. It was like a perfect live emerald.

The unicorn giggled. “Another friend I had taught me to be giving, and to live in inspiration. She showed me not to cling to one way of life, to remember where I come from.”

“Well my little pony, do you remember where you came from?”

The unicorn just shook her head.

“I know you will” whispered her companion.

As they continued, the road stretching far in the distance the unicorn noticed a small sound.

As the breeze moved through the trees it made a soft, quite voice. One the unicorn knew she heard before. The image of another pony rose in her head and she grinned.

“My little pony, do you have another friend you remember?”

“Yes, this friend was quite, but nice. She would be there for me to talk to, or if I just needed some time with a friend. She taught me to see the small things and was a shoulder for me to cry on.”

“I’m so happy you had somepony like that. That is something everypony needs.”

“I’m happy too.”

The unicorn started to notice the size of the trees; they were bigger than the unicorn would have thought.
The feeling of a strong presence was what made her remember with a laugh.

“I also had a sibling, he was my shield. He supported me when I was young, and gave me the courage to do what I wanted.”

The pony next to her looked satisfied with this newest memory.

The unicorn mare looked at the shadows on the ground the memory struggling once again to make itself known.
That’s when she saw her shadow, a small happy thing.

“I had a daughter too.”

The mares stopped walking for the first time.

“Why don’t you tell me about her?”

Chuckling the unicorn started. “She was happy, even though she had a rough beginning. She would do anything to protect the ones she cared about, and I’d give my life for her.”

“Do you remember your truth?”

“I am special, but I can’t forget my friends and bonds.”

“What about your heart?”

“I can’t give up, no matter how difficult or scary.”

“Do you remember where you came from?”

“Yes.”

“Do you remember your name?”

“Yes.”

The two mares smiled at one another.

They started walking again but up ahead was a bright light.

“Thank you Harmony.”

The Alicorn looked at the unicorn with a smile.

“You’ve lead a good life Twilight Sparkle.”

Harmony looked forward.

“Are you ready my little pony?”

“Yes.”

With that the two walked into the light.
