Chapter 1
The sun was shinning bright as the carriage stopped in front of a newly built house.
"So do you like it Flameworth? your mother and i have been looking for a place with a little bit more room."
"I just dont see why we had to move away from all my friends." said the darkish blue pegasus.
"I know this is tough honey, but you will make new friends here I promise, now off to bed, you start school tomorrow."
Flameworth made a pouting noise and said. "Alright, good night mommy, good night daddy."
"good night Flameworth, peaceful dreams." The small pegasus started her way up the stairs to her new room.
"Are you sure she should be starting school tomorrow, I mean we did just get here after all."
"That is not excuse to get an early start on her education, besides she needs something to do to get her mind off of the move." Said the green pegasus trotting down the hall to their bedroom.
"Alright, tomorrow I'll get to work on the babies room, hopefully this one is a colt." Said the blue pegasus following his wife to the bedroom, the two ponies climbed into bed, said their good nights and fell asleep.
The next morning came quicker then usual as the little pony fell out of her bed.
"Ow." She said in a mumble.
The bedroom door swung open and her mother looked in.
"Flameworth it's time to get up, you don't want to be late for your first day of school do you?"
"I don't want to go."
"Why? you get to meet a lot of new ponies and make new friends."
"What if nopony likes me?"
"The only way a pony wont like you, is if you don't let them get to know you. Let them get to know the real you and they will be begging to be your friend."
"You think so?"
"I know so."
"Thanks mom." Flameworth gave her mother a hug and trotted downstairs.
"There's my little girl"
"Hi dad, cant talk, gotta get to school,bye!" She opened the front door and dashed off to her new school.
"Honey...did you give her coffee? she seemed hyper."
"No I didn't give her coffee, just some encouragement."
The Pegasuses let out a small laugh and continued on with their day.
The school bell range as Flameworth entered the school for the first time.
"Students quiet down please, we have a new pony joining us today so lets give her a proper welcome to our class shall we? I'll start, my names Mr. Frost and i'll be your new teacher." Said the red earth pony smiling before looking back at the class.
The other ponies in the classroom told her their names.
"H-hi my names Flameworth."
Every pony in the room said hi at the same time.
"Ok,well why don't you go pick out a seat and we can begin today's lesson."
The filly looked around for a seat but only seen one in the back, taking a seat she looked over at the pony beside her.
He was a white unicorn with a fiery mane.
"Hey i'm Soulfire, but my friends just call me Soul." He said putting up a hoof as a sign of good gesture.
"Hi Soulfire, I'm Flameworth." She said bumping her hoof with his.
"So where did you move from?"
"The city, my parents wanted to get away from all the noise."
"Cool, hey wanna hang out after school, I can show you around town."
"You want to hang out with me?"
"Ya, you seem pretty cool."
Hearing the unicorn say that made Flameworth happy.
"Sure!"
A few hours passed and the school bell finally rang.
"Don't forget, your reports are due tomorrow"
As everypony got up to leave Mr. Frost stopped Flameworth.
"Oh Flameworth, there is this program called the young fliers association, I thought you might be interested in it."
"Yes Mr. Frost I'd be interested."
"Great! all I need to do is talk to your parents,could you give them this note from me?"
"Yes sir."
"Flameworth, you coming?" Yelled Soulfire standing beside an alicorn.
Trotting over she said hi to the pony.
"Flameworth this is Shadow Bound, Shadow this is Flameworth."
The tall white pony with a dark mane looked over the pegasus as she did the same to him.
"Hi." They both said in union, which made Flameworth blush.
"Come on, the day isn't gonna stand still so you two can stare at each other."
"The three ponies moved into the center of the busy town, trying not to get run over by the others the unicorn started to point stuff out.
"Over there is the market, a bunch of cool kids hang there, we don't though, we like to think of ourselves as different from the rest.
Over there is the spa, if you go in don't expect us to follow... And over here with the statue of a knight is the museum. It is dedicated to all those who fought and died for Rainbowvania."
"Can we go in?" She asked looking at the giant statue.
"What do you think shadow. Up for a history lesson? im sure you could use it"
"Shut up, I bet I know more then you."
"What ever you say." They made their way up the stairs and through the doors.
"Hi, welcome to the museum of fallen soldiers, would you like a tour?" Asked the pony standing by a wall.
"No thanks, just looking" Said Soulfire leading them across the room and stopping infront of some spears.
Flameworth examined them.
"It says here that they were used to defend this land a really long time ago."Soul said reading the plaque on the wall.
"I wonder how heavy they are"
"I wouldn't touch those Soul, we could get into some serious trouble."
"Whats the worst that's gonna happen?" He said picking one up and accidentally dropping it.
"Uh oh, I think we better leave guys." Said Flameworth backing away from the broken spear.
"Hey, you three don't move!" Yelled the manager of the place.
"What do you think your doi." He quickly stopped and bowed before Shadow Bound.
"Oh please forgive me for shouting at you prince but you guys cant be breaking stuff in here, this history."
"Sorry, it wont happen again" Said the prince pointing his hoof towards the door to leave.
"Prince? your a prince?" Asked the pegasus confused.
"My mother and father are the rulers of this land, I don't like the title that I posses, I just want to be treated like every pony else."
"Ya, I can see where all the attention can be a pain."
"You were right Soul, she is cool."
"Thanks! So, what now?"
"We could all race to the park, show us how fast you are on your hooves."
"Your on! what about you Shadow if you don't mind me calling you that."
"I don't mind and you are both on!"
The three ponies all lined up and got into running position
"On your mark, get set, go!"
The three ponies took off as fast as their hooves could carry them, but Flameworth was behind them and only falling further behind.
"I have to win, I have to show them I can keep up with them and be the best." She muttered to herself, spreading her wings she took off into the sky. Gaining speed with each flap of her wings she quickly caught up to the others.
"Hey no flying!" Yelled Soulfire as he watched her speed down the dirt path landing on a park bench.
"Ha I won! I knew I could do it!" She boasted.
"Ya only cause you used your wing you big cheater!" Said Shadow bound reaching the bench with Soulfire.
"Well you never said I couldn't use my wings"
"I thought it was common sense you know because I don't got wings!" Yelled the unicorn catching his breath.
"I'm sorry" Said the pegasus looking at the ground.
"Don't listen to him, he's just being a sore looser, Your were pretty quick" Said the prince putting his hoof on her shoulder, looking at Soulfire waiting for him to say something.
"Uh ya, you were pretty fast, you must train a lot."
Picking her head up, smiling at the two ponies she said.
"Sorry for cheating, I just wanted you guys to think I'm awesome and continue to hang out with me"
The two ponies laughed for a good minute, giving the pegasus a hug they said.
"You are our friend, we will hang out with you as long as you don't change who you are"
"I can do that" She said happily that she made two friends.
"So since were friends, do you mind if I ask you what your parents do? I Know what Shadows does, but you haven't spoken much of your family."
"I'll tell you what my family does only if you tell us what yours do, deal?"
"Deal." She hoof bumped Souls hoof.
"My parents are fire fighters."
"That is so cool!"
"What do yours do?"
"They're part of the equestrian guard."
"If your parents are in the equestrian guard, why did they move here?" Asked Shadow Bound turning his head in confusion.
"They told me it was to get away from the noise of the city, but I think it was for me, when I was in school I would get picked on and beat up by the other ponies for being different."
"Different how?" Asked Soulfire.
"I liked stuff that the others though was weird and not ordinary for a pegasus like me to like."
"You know what I say, the weirder the better." Said Shadow Bound sitting beside Flameworth.
Looking into each others eyes they quickly turned away and blushed.
"Ya who needs to be normal when you can be different." Said Soulfire sitting beside them.
They sat there for several hours and watched the sun set.
"It's getting late I better be getting home." Said the pegasus getting up.
"Ya so should we, we'll see you in school tomorrow Flameworth."
After saying their good byes the three ponies made their separate ways home.
