Scorcher's best friend Cricket Bat gets another mare pregnant.
Scorcher and Cricket Bat are best friends and they are both in high school. But what happens when Cricket Bat gets another mare pregnant? Will their friendship last? Will Cricket Bat cope? And what happens when a certain group of ponies go to that school, and Scorcher becomes interested in Fluttershy? Based on a prank a friend pulled on me on april fools day. Rated teen for obvious reasons. Cricket Bat and Dark Shadow are based on my 2 best friends in real life. First story, Hope you all like it.

I was finishing my day of sport, on my way home when I bumped into another mare on the way up a walkway. She dropped alot of files. "I'm really sorry about that" she apologised. "No, I should've watched where I was going." I had a good look at her. She was beautiful. Her cutie mark was rain and her mane was light blue. "My name's rainy days. Yours?" She asked. "Cricket Bat." I responded. We decided to walk on the walkbridge to the train station, as I live away from the school, and she was catching a train anyway. I told her I was going to another part of town, and that's where she was headed too. She ended up being only a few houses away from me. I told her I had to go and I'd see her tomorrow. I had to tell Scorcher and Soccer Ball about her. But that could wait until tommorow.
Scorcher's POV
I arrived at class to find Cricket Bat late. "Where the hell were you last night man? Me and Dark Shadow had a kickass party without you!" I shouted at him. "Sorry man I forgot about it. But I do have to tell you something." He apologised. "Sure, what is it?" I asked. Now came the shocker. "I met a young mare on the way back home and she only lives a few houses away. Her name's Rainy Days." He responded. Being the douchebag Year 9 student I was, I asked him, "Was she hot?". "Somewhat, why?" He responded. "I'm just kidding!" I responded. The teacher was blabbing on and told us to be quiet. Just then 6 mares walked into the class. I hadn't seen them before so I guessed they were new here. After class I decided to introduce myself to them. This was only the beginning.
I approached them and said "Hey, I'm scorcher." I said. They all responded with their names. One of them I think was a bit off the scale... After Pinkie Pie had introduced herself (I'm gonna save time and not do all the crazy talking.), I moved on to the next earth pony. Eventually I had introduced myself to everyone except for one. She was a yellow mare with a pink mane. "And your name is...?" I asked politely. She simply just squeaked and ran off. "What just happened?" I asked a bit confused. "Fluttershy's quite shy, I forgot to mention that." Twilight said. My mouth just formed an O shape and I nodded. "Well I've gotta go see Cricket Bat and Dark Shadow, Cya." I said, and went looking for my 2 best friends in Equestria.
Cricket Bat's POV
After seeing Scorcher and the final bell went I went looking for Rainy Days. I eventually found her, and asked "Hey, do you want to meet up some time?". She responded "Yeah, sure! I'm free saturday.". "Same. I'll see you at my house saturday then!" I said as I walked away. I decided to go see Scorcher about me getting a "Date" so to speak.
Scorcher's POV
Me and Dark Shadow were about to pull an all-nighter when Cricket Bat came and visited us. "Hey guys guess what?" He asked. "What, are you dying of a disease?" I responded sarcastically. "No, I got a date with that rainy days girl I told you about. Saturday." He responded. I was quite pleased. But this leaves me being the only bachelor of the group. So I was happy and sad at the same time. Dark Shadow already had a girlfriend, Cricket's getting one, but no kissy for scorcher for some reason. "That's great cricket, do you want to pull an all-nighter with us?" Dark asked Cricket. "Sure." He responded. Then we pulled an all-nighter, and its a school night. I'm grouchy when I'm tired. It's a PE day. This can only end poorly.
A few months had passed since Rainy and Cricket went on their first date. I finally got to know Fluttershy and developed a crush. I thought to make a move for a while but I'm not sure if I should or not. Rainy and Cricket are pretty close now, and the half-yearlies are done. Cricket seemed distraught about something. "What's wrong bro?" I asked him. "Um... Rainy is...kindofpregnant..." He muttered the last words. I couldn't hear him so I asked "What?" "Rainy is pregnant." I fell over, on my back, and felt my eyes roll back into my head as I passed out from the shock of that statement. I woke up not too long after saying "Whoo I'm glad that's over, I had the strangest dream I thought Rainy was pregnant with your baby... Ha, what a stupid dream." It didn't take me too long to find out it was real. I passed out again.
Cricket Bat's POV
This was not the reaction I was expecting. My best friend, Instead of being angry, or happy, just seemed shocked. When he woke up he decided to be angry. I was relieved and a little scared at the same time at his anger. "Why in Celestia's name would you have sex with a mare, when you're 15?!?!?!?" He yelled out in confusion and anger. This would be a looooooong day.
Scorcher's POV
I stormed off from Cricket to go tell Dark Shadow. "Hey dark, Bad news." I told him. "What?" He responded. "Cricket got a mare pregnant." I told him angrily. His reaction was similar to mine, only he knew it wasn't a dream right away when he woke up. He had sympathy however. This made me sick, and I stormed away from him too. The end of the day just happened so I went home ASAP. I'd deal with it tommorow...
The next day I decided to go to the girls and tell them what happened. "Hey, guess what Cricket did. Go on, guess." I said as annoyed as possible. "He killed someone?" Rainbow Dash asked, most likely sarcastically. "No," I responded, "He got Rainy Days PREGNANT." I said as pissed off as I could be. I was angry at him. "How many months?" Rarity asked. "Not sure." I responded. I really had no idea as he didn't tell me. Yet. "I'm gonna go ask him now." I said and went off to find Cricket.
Cricket Bat's POV
Scorcher came up to me a bit more calmly than yesterday. "How long is rainy pregnant?" He asked. "1 month." I replied. "I still cant believe your nerve dude, but I'll support you to the end either way." He said with a positive attitude. "Cool," I said, "Do you want to go get some lunch?". "Sure, Who's buying?" He asked. "I'll buy." I said, because I knew he wouldn't want to buy for me. We went to go get some lunch and brought Soccer along with us. The day went about normally and I went home feeling satisfied with the way Scorcher and I worked it out between us. As the months rolled by, everything was fine. When the school year ended... that's when things took a turn for the worse.
The end of the year was tough but soon enough we breezed through the end of year without a hassle. For now at least. Winter break was when things went south. Rainy was 6 months pregnant, And everything seemed fine until Hearths Warming Eve. Everyone but me and Cricket Bat went to Canterlot. So that left just us. "I hope Cricket will be free for some all-nighters!" I thought to myself. I was gonna head over to his house soon so I figured why not now? He hadn't been talking since we graduated from Year 9. I figured I might as well talk to him. When I saw him he was on the phone. "Hey what's up?" I asked him, as he looked distraught. "I'll call you back." He said into the phone. He turned to me with a look of seriousness and said "It's rainy." "Oh no, What happened?" I asked in fear. What he responded with almost gave me a heart attack. "Rainy has been attacked in Canterlot and is in hospital." I should've fainted then and there. But what I did was I asked, "What's the chances of the unborn baby surviving?" "15%." And that was it. "Quick, let's go. Train station. NOW." I shouted at him, as we ran for the station. I just hope we're not too late.
Cricket Bat's POV
Me and Scorcher rushed for the station, and luckily there was a train just about to leave. We paid for our ticket and boarded. I was pacing on the train and Scorcher looked deep in thought. He looked up, as annoyed as possible, and shouted, "STOP PACING!!" This made me a bit shocked at his level of tone, then he went back to his deep thought position. I decided to sit down and wait for the train, and I could tell Scorcher was quite upset about what had happened. We arrived at Canterlot (Eventually..) And rushed to the nearby hospital. "Scorcher Storm and Cricket Bat for Rainy Days." We told the receptionist. "Who are you relating to Ms. Days?" She questioned. "I'm her boyfriend and she's carrying my baby. And Scorcher's mine and her's best friend." We told her. "Room 25, down the hall." She told us. We headed for the room and wanted to know if everything would be ok. I hope so, and so does Scorcher. We went into the room to find out.
3rd person POV
Rainy looked up, well, as far as she could. Her eyes softened as she watched Cricket, Scorcher and Rainbow Blitz enter. "Hey, guys. You can calm down now, I'm alright." The mare said softly, trying to lighten the mood. "Calm... down? CALM DOWN?YOU GOT ATTACKED FOR CELESTIAS SAKE!" Scorcher yelled, his eyes burning with hate. Cricket gently patted Scorcher on the arm and nodded towards Rainy Days. The mare looked fragile, her eyes, glassy and tear filled. "Cricket, the baby... it didn't..." She stopped and clutched at her stomach, tears freely flowing from her eyes. "No. No, no, no, no, no!" Cricket Bat's eyes widened, as he stared are the crying pony's stomach. Cricket truly hoped it would survive, but as he stared longer, the faster his world began to crumble down. Scorcher quietly left the room, his ears lowered and his face serious.
Cricket Bat's POV
"Rainy. It'll be okay, I promise..." I walked to her bed, sitting down and wrapping my arms around her.
