Ditzy Doo felt like she was going to explode with happiness. The Doctor was taking her on another trip and this time it was going to be a surprise. Knowing the Doctor it was probably to some amazing thing nopony has ever seen before or maybe a planet covered in muffins. Or maybe a planet made of muffins! She was so excited when the Doctor had come by after she had just finished her rounds as a mail-mare. While she loved going on adventures, she still felt it was her job to come back every now and again to see her friends and do what she loved to do. And best of all, she never has to worry about taking too many days off since she can be back a few minutes after she left, even though she could have been traveling for months. The Doctor's time machine was amazing, though it did make her head hurt when she asked how time travel works. She was just glad to go on these adventures but when she comes back, no one would ever suspect that she had gone anywhere.

She now found herself sitting in the TARDIS with a smile on her face as the Doctor fiddled with his machine. She could hear him muttering random stuff about locations and space stuff. She didn’t really understand any of it. She was just glad to be with the Doctor. And for once, just maybe their trip would go as planned. The TARDIS can be very temperamental as the Doctor had put it. Again Ditzy had no idea what the Doctor was talking about. She just smiled at him like she always does and nods like she understood him. As the TARDIS started to make its usual noises, Ditzy escaped back to her imagination wondering if there really was a planet made of muffins.

Then out of nowhere, the TARDIS lurched to the side as the Doctor nearly fell over. Ditzy extended her wings and gave a few hard flaps to keep her from falling over. “Doctor, what’s happening?” she shouted as the TARDIS began to make loud and very strange noises. The Doctor regained his footing as he started to mess with the machine again. “We seem to have hit some strange anomaly. We just went from dimension to another but not the way you are suppose to. I have never seen such a strange shift before. Well I guess there was that one time a few years back but then again the circumstances were different but...” The TARDIS lurched to the right. The Doctor lost his train of thought as he held onto the console for support. “Ditzy hold on to something it is going to be a bumpy ride.” The Doctor pulled a big level in the middle of the console

“Geronimo!”

Ditzy could only just barley hold on to the railing surrounding the TARDIS as it continued to lurch and stumble back and forth. She closed her eyes as she found herself wishing she was back at home. All this rocking back and forth was making it hard to keep her breakfast down. She just wanted it to stop.

Then suddenly it stopped.

Everything became still and silent. Ditzy opened her eyes in surprise and looked around her. The lights of the TARDIS had become dim. The Doctor was still holding on the console. As soon as he realized it had stopped, the Doctor slumped to the floor. “Well,” he said somewhat out of breath, “that was interesting wasn’t Ditzy?” The Doctor looked over at his companion. Ditzy was doing her best to keep from throwing up. Ditzy met the Doctors eyes. As soon as they met he knew immediately what was coming. Thinking quickly the Doctor did what he thought was best in this predicament. “Ditzy, make sure you lean all the way over the railing,” he advised. Ditzy glared at him before turning around and emptying her breakfast over the side of the railing.

Once she was done, the Doctor turned back to the console. He then went about pushing buttons and pulling levers trying to get the TARDIS up and running. But it remained silent. No matter what he did the TARDIS refused to come to life. The Doctor let out an exasperated sigh. Deciding there was not much left to do; he went over to see how his companion was doing. She had just finished emptying her stomach and now lay slouched against the railing. He sat down beside her rubbing her back, “Hey sorry about that, feeling better?” Ditzy coughed but nodded. The Doctor then glanced over at the door, “Well, for now it appears we’re stuck. What do say we go and have a look at where we are?” Ditzy only nodded again afraid to open her mouth and loose what little she had left in her tummy.

Both Ditzy and the Doctor got up at the same time and walked over to the door. Ditzy glanced over at the Doctor before she opened it. She gave him her best worried face but the Doctor smiled and opened the door himself. When they looked out, they were met with almost complete darkness.

The Doctor stepped out closely followed by Ditzy. She glanced in all directions but was met with more darkness. The Doctor stopped himself as his face paled. Ditzy noticing that the Doctor had stopped, stepped in front of him. “What’s the matter?” she whispered. The Doctor was silent for a moment staring ahead into space. He then glanced at Ditzy after a few moments. “Ditzy, I know where we are.” The Doctor gulped and shivered just a bit even though wasn’t even cold. “We appear to have landed in the Void.” Ditzy gave him a curious look. “The Void, that’s a strange name for a planet.” The Doctor shook his head, “No, this isn’t a planet. We are neither in space nor part of time. The Void exists outside of everything. It should be impossible for us to be here at all, let alone the TARDIS bringing us here.” The Doctor glanced back over at the TARDIS. “We need get back to the TARDIS now.” Ditzy nodded and was about to follow him until she heard what she thought sounded like snoring.

“Wait Doctor, I think I hear somepony.” The Doctor turned around facing Ditzy again, “But that’s impossible. No one should be here.” But as soon as the Doctor said that, he heard it to.

“Impossible” he muttered.

Ditzy turned to where she thought she heard the snoring coming from and began to walk in that direction. She turned around when she realized the Doctor wasn’t following her. “Come on Doctor, they may need our help.” The Doctor shook his head to get himself focused again. “Your right, let’s see if we can find them and figure out how they got here.”
The Doctor turned and followed Ditzy as she continued to follow the sound. They walked for what felt like hours but eventually a small shape appeared as the snoring got louder. Ditzy ran up to get a closer look. “Look Doctor it’s a Pegasus.” The Doctor caught up and stood beside Ditzy. The Pegasus continued to sleep as his back was turned to them.

Ditzy bent down to get a closer look. She noticed his cutie mark had a golden apple on it. It appeared to be almost glowing. The Doctor walked over to the other side to try to get a better look at him. As soon as he saw its face he stopped dead in his tracks. His blood went cold and for a moment one of his hearts stopped. Ditzy looked up and noticed the Doctors expression. “Doctor, what’s wrong?” Before the Doctor could answer the Pegasus stirred. He rolled over and opened his eyes. As soon his gaze landed on Ditzy, his blue eyes shot wide open. The gray Pegasus look up at her in horror, then screamed…

Ditzy stumbled back as the Pegasus continued to yell out in terror. The grey Pegasus rolled as far away as he could before finally he stopped. He then got up and continued to back away. Ditzy shook her head to get the ringing out of her ears due to the screaming, she then stepped forward. “Hey, it’s alright I won’t hurt you. We just want to help you.” Derpy extended her hoof and smiled at him in a coaxing matter. The Pegasus stopped and glanced down at the out stretched hoof. He then glanced at Ditzy loving face. “That’s not possible. You can’t be here. You just can’t be.” The Pegasus’ face had a look of terror as his eyes appeared to be ready to cry at any moment. Ditzy took another step forward. The Pegasus held up is hoof in defense, “No. Stay away. If you’re real then stay away from me.”

Ditzy stopped her advancing, confusion played across her face. “Why? I promise you I will not harm you.” The Pegasus’ eyes went moist. “It’s not you I am worried about.” Ditzy took a few steps back. “What?”

The Doctor, who had remained stoic in shock, finally regained himself. He rushed forward putting himself between him and Ditzy. He wore a face of rage as he stared at the Pegasus. “Ditzy, get back to the TARDIS, I think I know why he is here.” Ditzy face changed to one of confusion, “But Doctor I don’t understand. I thought we came here to help?” The Doctor continued to stare at the Pegasus. “Ditzy, just trust me and get out of here.” Scrunching up her nose, Ditzy shot forward and stood beside the Doctor. She lifted her hooves and grabbed the Doctor’s face and swung it around to face her. “Doctor,” Ditzy looked at him with the most serious face she could muster, “tell me who is and why he is dangerous or I am not going anywhere.” The Doctor’s face fell as he lamented. Taking a deep breath he removed Ditzy’s hooves from his face before looking back at the Pegasus.

“Do remember that time when we faced Discord? Remember how we were split up for awhile? I never told you this but while we were split up, Discord came and tried to use his magic on me. He showed me something that I still fear to this day. I saw something that made me want to turn around and leave right there. I wanted to give up and stop being a time lord. I almost lost myself to him. But then I heard your voice. It told me to never give up. You helped me see through his dark magic. We managed to meet up again soon after and beat him. I came so close to losing who I am. I sometimes wonder what would have happened had I not heard your voice. But it looks like we are seeing this instead first hand.”

Ditzy shrunk back away from the Doctor as she looked at the Pegasus-who refused to meet there eyes- and back at the Doctor. “Are you saying Doctor that this Pegasus is…?” The Doctor paled as he looked at the Pegasus in shame. “Yes Ditzy, that Pegasus…Is me.” Ditzy felt her legs go weak as she took it all in. “This is you Discorded,” Ditzy asked? The Doctor could only nod his head as his gaze fell back on the Pegasus. Ditzy then turned to the Pegasus. “So you’re the Doctor too?”

The Pegasus’ face shot up as she heard her address him. “No! That’s not my name. It’s…Zerum.” The Doctor glared at him. “You call yourself zero?!” The Doctor struck his hoof into the ground. “How could I have fallen so far?” Zerum glanced up at the Doctor. “It’s not as bad as you think. My master treats me well.” The Doctors face shot up in rage as he pointed his hoof at Zerum. “I am a Master to NO ONE!” Zerum slinked back in shock at the Doctors out-rage. Ditzy staggered back just as surprised. Then her face turned back into one of confusion. “But wait Doctor, if this pony is another version of you. Where is the Discorded version of me?”

Both Doctors looked at her in surprise. Zerum’s face fell. Tears began to fall from his face. “You don’t exist anymore.” Ditzy took a few steps forward toward Zerum. “Why, what happened to me. Did you send me home? Did Discord do something to me?” Zerum’s face filled with more tears. He could not take it anymore. “You want to know what happened to you. Do you know why you don’t exist? Because you are dead…And I killed you.”

Ditzy face went to one of horror as her legs finally gave out from under her. “What?” she squeaked? Zerum took a few steps toward her. “That’s right. I killed you with my own hooves. I watched you as you begged for mercy as my hooves continued to beat you. Your blood ran down legs yet I continued to pound you into oblivion! And as you looked at me with your dying eyes, I brought my hoof down again so that I would not have to see them. And even when your screams of agony stopped I continued to kill you. And you know what I enjoyed it. I killed you and I am glad I did. And now perhaps its best…”

Whack!

Before Zerum could go on a hoof had found its way right into Zerum’s face. The Doctor stood over Zerum. Rage filled his face and body as his hoof was brought down on Zerum again. Zerum staggerd and fell on his back rubbing his nose and eye. The Doctor then went and stood in front of Ditzy, who was now on the ground crying her eyes out as she held herself in her hooves. The Doctor looked back at Zerum who was just now starting to get back up.

“I would NEVER do such a thing to her nor anyone else that did not deserve it. I protect the ones I care about. I am a time lord and I am servant to no one. I fly around through time and space protecting anyone from those who are evil or want to destroy the innocent . I will stop anyone who wants to hurt those I love. And I will protect them, even from myself. If that means I have to resort to physical violence then so be it.” The Doctor then took a stance in front of Ditzy, preparing himself for whatever was coming next.

Just then a tail shot out from the darkness wrapping itself around the Doctor.” What?” was all he could say as the tail grew tighter around his body. As he tried to break himself free, a voice boomed from everywhere and nowhere.

"Sorry, but I am afraid I cannot allow such damage to come to my favorite servant.”

The Doctor’s Protector

The Doctor struggled as the tail wrapped tighter around his body. Ditzy stared in shock as a creature appeared from the darkness. He was horrifying. He had a head of a pony with a dear antler and a goat horn. His body had scales and fur. His wings were feathery on one side but a bat wing on the other. And every time she blinked, she swore that the wings had changed sides. He had lion paw on one arm and a turkey claw on the other. His legs were that of a pony on one side and a gaiter leg on the other. He wore a grin with one fang sticking out of it. Had she not seen such crazy creatures on her journeys, she might have screamed. Instead she could only stare at the creature in shock. The creature seeing Ditzy’s expression let out a laugh that echoed in all directions. It made both the Doctors and Ditzy’s hearts fill with dread. He then brought his tail up and examined his catch. When he spoke, his voice seemed to echo in all directions just like his laugh. “Now then, what have we here? It is not often I have visitors.” He turned his head over to the Pegasus, “Zerum, care to tell me why this Pegasus shares an interesting resemblance of you?” The grey Pegasus looked up, “He’s me Master, or at least me from another time line.”

The creature turned his head just in time to catch the scowl the Doctor was giving him. The Doctor then felt the tail squeeze him harder. He felt more air leave his lungs as less and less of it was allowed back in. Feeling desperate and much need for air he did the one thing he could think of. As soon the end of the creature’s tail got close he would spring his trap.

The creature snaked his way up over to the Pegasus. She was stuck, frozen in fear of him. He bowed as he got closer. “Hello, my name is Discord, welcome to my humble abode.” He smirked for a moment then gave her a confused look. “Hmm, odd, I swear have we meet somewhere before? I have caused chaos to countless ponies and I always have trouble remembering every face I see. But for some reason you seem...familiar.” Before he could ponder this any further, suddenly he felt a sharp pain in his tail area. He glanced behind him and saw that the brown pony had clamped his jaw down into his tail. As soon as the message reached his brain, he immediately flung the horse off his tail making a whipping sound as the brown horse flew a few yards and hit the ground hard.

He then brought his tail close to examine it. It appeared to be wrangled and the bite marks were there plain as day. He then handed his tail to Zerum. With a bit of annoyance he then spoke to him, “Here you know what to do.” Zerum nodded as he began licking the wound and massaging it. Discord gave sigh of relief; until he heard gagging from across the void.

The Doctor was back on his feet. He gave Zerum a look of rage as he pointed his hoof at him. “I don’t care what timeline you are from, I would never stoop so low as to lick the wounds of something so damn UGLY!” Discord rolled his eyes. He then turned his head toward Zerum. “Well, I have had about as much fun as thought I could get out of this. Take care of him for me.” Discord grinned as Zerum nodded and muttered “orders are orders” under his breath.
The Doctor took a fighting stance as Zerum walked over to him. Zerum's face was one of cold intent. No emotion other than to kill. He had done this before. Would it be so hard to do it again? When he got within a few feet, he lunged at the Doctor. Using a bit of his wings to propel himself, he launched at the Doctor intending to knock him to the floor.

But the Doctor was prepared for this as he quickly turned around and lifted up his back legs. Zerum realized to late what the Doctor’s intent was as the Doctor thrust his back legs hard into Zerum's face sending him flying back a few yards. Zerum landed on his back, but was only down for a few seconds before he was back up again. He wiped the blood off his mouth and nose as he grinned manically at the Doctor. Both the Doctor and Zerum ran at each other. As they collided, they each took a swipe at each other’s faces but missed before changing tactics and just taking swings at each other hoping for a good shot. Zerum managed to land such a blow as the Doctor missed a face shot, he left himself open to a gut shot. Zerum lifted himself by his wings as he hovered for a moment, and brought his hind legs out in front of him. He landed a clean shot. The Doctor doubled over as he gasped for breath. Zerum then lifted up his front legs as got ready to bring down his weight upon the Doctors skull. He hovered for a moment looking down. He took a deep breath as brought his legs down as hard as he could.

His legs never touched the ground as something shot out from the darkness, slamming hard into Zerum’s right side. Almost all air was knocked from his lungs as he found himself sailing through the air. As he landed, he clutched the side of stomach and looked up. Getting up after just colliding with him, stood Ditzy, her eyes filled with rage. She pointed her hoof at Zerum, “I don’t care if you are or even were the Doctor. You will not hurt MY DOCTOR!” The Doctor looked up in surprise, “Ditzy?” he wheezed. Ditzy smiled and turned to the Doctor. “Don’t worry; sometimes even you need to be saved. And I promise I will always be there to protect you.” She grinned at him and extended her wings in excitement.

She didn’t notice the tail creeping up on her. She didn’t react fast enough when the Doctor shouted a warning. The tailed already wrapped itself around her wing. Before Ditzy could even shout in surprise, the tail contracted around her wing. The crack of broken bone echoed throughout the void. A soon as the sound reach her ears, Ditzy let out a cry of pain. Her mangled wing fell to her side. Then the tail wrapped itself around Ditzy as she continued to scream in agony. The agony and pain of her mangled wing grew as it was forcibly pressed against her. She could only continue to cry in pain. The tail then brought Ditzy to its master’s face. He had an annoyed look displayed across his face. “I am afraid you have become a nuisance to both me and my tool. You are a pest. And pests must be Squashed and thrown away.” He smiled at her. “I really hate pests don’t you?”

He then tightened his grip on her. Ditzy screamed like she had never screamed before. Pain laced throughout her body. She could feel some of her bones snapping like twigs. She slowly turned her head to look at the Doctor. “I'm sorry,” she said as a tear rolled down her face. Her eyes became clouded as she went limp in Discords tail. Discord raised an eye-brow before tossing her over his shoulder. She landed in a thud. She laid there unmoving. The Doctor, far on the otherside of the Void, lay there on the floor unable to move. His whole body had become paralyzed. Tears were rolling down his face.

Zerum got back up and limped over to his master. Discord patted him on the head. “Sorry about that. She will be a nuisance no more. Now we just have one last pest to squash.” Discord turned his head toward the Doctor as he grinned. Zerum smiled as he felt his master coax him toward the Doctor. His master was in a good mood again. So long as the Master was happy, so was he. He began to slowly walk toward the Doctor.

“You killed her.”

Zerum stopped in his tracks. The Doctor had stopped crying. He slowly got to his feet. His face was expressionless. Bags had formed under his eyes. Zerum and Discord stared at the Doctor in curiosity. The Doctor’s gaze locked with Discord. “You killed my Companion.” His mane grew a bit longer and began to fade. “You Killed Ditzy.” His fur began to fade into a grey look. He loosened his tie."I will never forgive you." He looked at Zerum as a grin reached his face. His whole body had changed. He let out a small laugh. “Let’s find out what your bones sound like when I break them.”

He took a step forward as his blue eyes fell on both of them.

Light in the Dark Void

The Doctor glared at Discord and Zerum. All sadness within him had been replaced with cold anger. Fire burned in his eyes. Discord was going to die. And he was going to die painfully for what he had done. Nothing else mattered anymore. Only revenge. The Doctor took a step forward and began casually walking toward them, his eyes never leaving them as he continued to only stare with a look of cold heartedness.

Zerum turned to Discord, “I don’t understand, how…?” Discord leaned back and scratched his chin. He then looked down at Zerum, “If I had to take a guess, I would say that my influence was not completely snuffed out whenever the other timeline me tried to take him. It just lay dormant. The mare over there was the only thing keeping it in check. But now that she has been deceased right in front of him, it has fused with his anger. Strange, though, that I seem to have no control over him. He is truly a spawn of chaos and rage.” Discord raised an eye-brow. “If it weren’t for the fact he is trying to kill us, he could have been fun. Oh well, time to end this before he becomes a pest like that mare. Zerum, kill him.”

Zerum nodded, he turned and ran up to meet the Doctor. Just as he was within a few feet of the advancing Doctor, he stopped and grinned at him. “It’s over. My master says you’re going to die. And he is never wrong. Prepare yourself. your blood will stain you fur and if you are lucky, you will make a nice red carpet” As he spoke the Doctor sighed in amusement. As soon as he was within a few inches, he raised his hoof and smacked Zerum at of the way. Zerum staggered in shock before crying out in anger and charging him. The Doctor stopped and rolled his eyes. Just as Zerum was about to hit him, the Doctor turned a bucked him in the face. After hearing a satisfying crack, and a thump from Zerum hitting the floor, he turned back around toward his attacker. He then casually walked up toward Zerum as he tried to get to back on his hooves. Blood poured from his nose. As soon as Zerum us was up, he turned to face toward the Doctor, only to meet again with the site of the Doctor’s behind, followed by his hooves. This time however, the Doctor made sure he made contact with Zerum’s neck.

Zerum felt his vision go cloudy as he found himself staggering back gasping for air. But it only came in shot spurts. He could feel his body failing him as oxygen was deprived from his system. Just before he blacked out, he saw one last image of the Doctor’s front hoof connecting with his face. Then his mind went blank. The Doctor stood over Zerum as he examined his hoof. It was covered in Zerum’s blood. He then shrugged his shoulders as he wiped his hooves off on Zerum’s coat. After making sure he was presentable again, he turned his attention to the amused draconicus.
“Well that was interesting. So you defeated my tool. Now you think you are going to kill me; the embodiment of chaos?” Discord let out a vicious laugh. It rang out into the Void and continued on for a few moments. The Doctor just stared at him; a glazed look was all that he gave him.

Discord ceased his laughter when he caught the Doctor’s look. “Oh, please don’t tell you lost all emotion entirely. It would be at least a bit more entertaining if you gave me a look or fear before I kill you. Or better yet, the look you gave to the mare a killed a while ago. That look was priceless.” Discord grinned when he saw the Doctor flinch at the mention of the light grey mare. Discord then raced forward until he was inches from his face. It was then that he noticed a strange glowing object in the Doctors mouth. He chose to ignore it for now. He was going have one last laugh. “So you think you can really hurt me? Aside from a lucky bite, I say you don’t have a whole lot of hope of doing much to me. But I will tell you what; I will allow one free shot at my body. Take your pick. But chose wisely, I am only going to allow one shot.”

The Doctor set the glowing object on the ground. He then looked up at Discord, “One shot is all I need. You know that mare wasn’t the only companion on this trip.” Discord raised in eye-brow in confusion. The Doctor smirked as he continued, “This fine companion has been with me since the beginning. She is one sexy thing and tends to hold a bit of a grudge. By the way, heads up.” Discord heard a strange noise behind him. He turned just in time to see a blue box slam into his face. Discord fell onto his back as the blue box flew over him and landed right next to the Doctor. He held up a hoof and put his ear against it. He then turned to Discord, “Bad news…She hates you. Good news…You’re the first creature to ever be bitch slapped by her.

Discord rose back up onto his feet. He rubbed his nose trying to dissipate the throbbing pain the blue box had given him. He had seen it before and knew what is was and what it did. He did not however know that that thing had a personality. Let alone that it was good hitter. He was just about to return fire when the blue box began to disappear. Discord looked around and back at where the blue box had disappeared. “Where…?” Before Discoed could even begin the though process, the blue box appear behind him, slamming into the back of his head. Discord fell, slamming his injured nose against the floor as the blue box disappeared into the darkness. As Discord shakingly lifted his head, he saw the Doctor was just a few inches in front of him. The Doctor grinned at him, “It’s called the TARDIS by the way.” He then flicked his hoof right into Discords noise.

Discord stumbled back clutching his nose, just as the TARDIS decided to take another swing at his head. Discord held his head and nose in pain and found himself swatting the air, trying to take out the TARDIS as if it were an annoying fly. The Doctor casually walked around him, laughing as Discord continued to miss over and over again. Blood was starting to form from his nose and mouth.

The Doctor was so wrapped up in amusement; he didn’t notice Derpy until he literally tripped over her. Slowly picking himself up he glanced back at the light grey mare. Her eyes were closed and tears of blood ran down her face. Her wing was mangled and in a very bad angle. Her legs where left in a bad position and her fur was messed up. She appeared to have a few broken ribs. A breezed past over her stomach causing it to rise and fall.

Wait there isn’t any wind in the Void.

The Doctor’s hearts nearly stopped. He quickly bent down and but his head against her stomach. And he waited. A loud screech filled the air as Discord bellowed in rage as the TARDIS swiped him the back. “Hey,” the Doctor turned toward Discord, “would mind keeping it down for a moment?” Discord turned toward the Doctor and glared at him, only to be blindsided by the TARDIS again. Discord turned a spit some blood out of his mouth before going back to swatting again.

The Doctor took a deep breath and bent down to listen again. ...Bump. It was small and quick but there none the less. The Doctor could not believe his ears. Yes she was dying, but she wasn’t dead yet. The Doctor closed his eyes for a moment as he pondered what to do next. Just then he heard a loud crack. The Doctor turned just in time to see the TARDIS crash to the ground. Discord had finally gotten a lucky shot. The Doctor stared at the TARDIS as it lay on its side. He reached back a produced his sonic screw driver from his pocket (still trying to get used to having them on his body). He pointed it at the TARDIS and a few bright flashes later, the TARDIS had disappeared. He then stowed his screw driver away as he turned toward Discord. The creature was just now getting a second wind.

Discord stared down at the pool of blood at his feet. He then wiped the blood off his face before turning toward the Doctor and suprisingly calmly saying, “I am going to grind your body into dust and drink whatever is left. Or better yet, I just crush you slowly here and now.” The Doctor then turned back to Derpy. Even as he Discord was making his way toward him, the Doctor did not bother to move or do anything else. He just sat there and wraped his hooves around his companion as he embraced Derpy’s near lifeless body. She felt so cold, even though his body was becoming warmer. He turned his head and whispered into Derpy’s ear, “I’m sorry Ditzy. But it is time to wake up.”

Discord was now right behind the Doctor, raising is foot ready to crush them. But before he could bring it down he was blinded be a flash of light. Discord stumbled back as he held up a hand to block the light. In such a dark place, light filled the air. Discord stared back in amazement.

The Doctor and the grey mare where surrounded by a gold aura.

Journey's End

Sparks and beams of light shot forth. Discord stood back as the light began to grow and surround the Doctor and his companion. The Doctor, whose mane and fur glowed yellow, was almost impossible to look at. Yet through the haze, if one were to look carefully, they might just make out the image of him holding the grey mare as she too was wrapped in the light. If someone were to listen closely as well, they would have heard him calling the mare’s name. But the mare continued to stay limp in the Doctor’s arms.

***

Derpy’s mind had been blank. She only just recently woke up. Only to find herself in some empty place. It was filled with an endless darkness and Derpy could not see in any direction as she flouted in the Darkness. There was no sound, yet she thought she heard someone speak a moment ago. It was faint but she knew she heard someone say her name. “Hello?” Derpy called out. She twisted around in any direction she could. She looked around in hopes of seeing where the voice had come from. “Doctor,” She yelled out into the void as she faintly heard her name again, “Doctor where are you? Please answer me.” Derpy wrapped herself in her wings as she fell into a fetal position as tears formed in her eyes. “Doctor…Please answer…I’m scared.”

She thought back to all the times she and the Doctor and saved each other. It seemed like the Doctor got her out of more jams then she had. Now, here she was, asking for his help again. But she didn’t care. She knew that the Doctor cared about her and she cared about him more then he knew. They needed each other. “Alright Doctor, wherever you are, I’m coming!” Derpy looked out into the void again. “But do you think you could meet me half way?” As soon as she said this, a small beam of light appeared in the distance. Derpy’s face brightened up as she took off and flew after the beam. It continued to get brighter as she got closer. It felt so warm. So inviting. She was filled with a feeling of being hugged. She could smell the Doctor and his voice was becoming clearer. She closed her eyes as she felt her hooves touch the light.

***

Discord reached out behind his wings and produced a pair of sunglasses. Though his chaotic powers didn’t truly work in the Void, he could still do small things like this. Even after putting on the shades, the light was still almost impossible to look at. But at least now he could spot Zerum nearby. He was staring straight at the light (how was he doing that?) and had his jaw nearly touching the floor. Discord moved closer to him. Zerum nearly jolted out of his skin as Discord tapped him on the shoulder. Zerum turned to look at Discord. Discord then pointed forward at the light, “Care to elaborate?” Zerum glanced over at the light then back at Discord. “It appears that he is using his regeneration abilities to heal Ditz…I mean the mare over there.” Discord raised an eye brow, “I thought I recognized her.” Discord then looked away in deep thought. Even though I send him to kill her, she returns her again. It seems that things are about to become even more tiresome. Should he realize what really happened to make him kill her, I may lose him as my servant. She was the last piece needed to fall in order to break him. This does not bode well. “Damn it why can’t she just stay dead,” Discord yelled out!

Zerum turned away from Discord and looked back at the light, he knew what was coming next, yet something in his gut told him not to warn Discord about it. Zerum shook his head. He then got up and slowly backed away as Discord continued to rant, not noticing that he was now all alone.

Derpy slowly opened her eyes. She was surrounded by a swirling gold light and sitting right in front of her, with his hoofs around her, was the Doctor. He smiled at her. She looked at him confused, “Doctor how are you doing this. Wasn’t I…?” Derpy felt a hoof cover her mouth. The Doctor stared into her with his blue shiny blue eyes. “It doesn’t matter. All that matters is that you are safe. I will always be here for you, just like you are always there for me. We truly make a fantastic team! I couldn't have made it this far without you” He then leaned in. Derpy felt the Doctor’s lips meet hers and world seemed to explode around them.

Discord felt his train of thought came to a screeching halt as he felt the world shake around him. He turned just in time to see a wall of light barreling towards him. He barely had a chance to cry out as it hit him like a freight train. Immediately his whole body felt like it was going to split apart, but being an immortal being that wasn’t going to happen. So instead, he found himself being continually pushed back as pain shot through every part of his body. Discord wanted to scream in agony, but that only made it hurt worst. He managed to stare to at his bear paw only to notice the skin was gone and replaced with nothing but bone. He then did a quick body check and found that he was nothing but bone. Again, being an immortal being was not helping him at all.

At least the pain was gone.

Then everything went dark. Discord wondered if perhaps he had reached the end of the explosion. He then fell to the ground as his bones scattered in all directions. His eyes must have melted off because could not see where his head had landed. Though he was literally in pieces, he knew it was only a matter of time before he could put himself back together. By then he was sure that the other Doctor would be gone. This had not been the kind of day he had been hoping for. But should the Doctor return… He would make sure not to make the same mistakes again. Now all he could do now was wait.

Zerum watched from a great distance as the golden explosion took place. It really was a magnificent sight. It almost made him feel warm inside just looking at something so beautiful after living in such a dark place for so long. Zerum thought back to Discord and then to Derpy. The way she looked at him. He couldn’t help but feel a pang of regret for what had happened but there was nothing that could be done differently. This was punishment for what he had done to her. To his Ditzy. He was willing to pay it in full. Zerum turned away as the light began to disappear. He saw his master was now in pieces. It was time to put him back together and take whatever punishment he was going to give him. But for some reason, it was worth it.

Derpy slowly opened her eyes again. She was back in the TARDIS. The Doctor was sitting nearby. As soon she tried to lift her head the Doctor gently placed his hoof on her. The Doctor then smiled at her, “Hey, you need to rest now. I fixed all that I could but your body will still needs time. I am afraid that I may have used up a bit too much healing power on you. I just barely managed to get the TARDIS going again. When we get back I am afraid I may be out of commission for awhile. I am leaving my body in your capable hands.” With that the Doctor collapsed onto the floor. Derpy quickly got up ran up next to him. The Doctor gave her a reassuring look as looked up at her. “I may be out cold for a few weeks but don’t worry, I will be fine. You have already proven you can take care of the both of us.” He then closed his eyes as he whispered “Thank you…For everything.” Derpy got up. She ran out into a hallway (one of ,many inside the TARDIS). When she returned, she had pillow in her mouth and a blanket folded on her back. As she tucked him in, she nuzzled him and thanked him as well. “Good night Doctor” she said as she heard the TARDIS beginning to land.
