Awoken
“It’s time to wake up”
“What? Where? Who.. Who’s there?”
“ You've been asleep for a very long time.”
“Wha- what? Who are you? Where am I?”
“Be careful with who you associate with, tragic things will occur from being with the same influence for too long.”
The pony woke up. In the middle of a forest, he looked around, there seemed to have be an explosion recently around him, because the immediate vicinity of the forest was destroyed. He stood up and noticed he was standing on four hooves. He looked at his body, his coat was an ocean blue, he then noticed a horn on top of his head that parted his fiery red mane, and upon further inspection, found he had a mark that looked like a golden explosion on his flank and two large blue feathery wings. He wasn't sure what was going on, but intend find out, he took a step forward and everything went black.
Awoken, but in a daze, he found himself in some type of building, it appeared to be a hut, he looked to his left and saw a zebra with neck rings and a strange looking mark that looked like a sun on her flank. “Sorry to have moved you, I suppose introductions are due. I found you this morning, you came from an explosion without warning.”
“Who are you? Where am I? Why are you talking in rhymes?”
“My title is Zecora, I found you in the remnants of the fauna and flora. As to where your situation, my hut is your location.”
“Okay. Zecora, my name is- ah!” he suddenly got a huge headache. “My, my name is Stasis. Sorry my head hurt when I tried to remember my name for some reason.”
“It is fine as you can see, I can fix you a remedy.”
“Uh, thanks.” Looking around he spoke up “so I guess you are a herbalist?”
Zecora went to speak when there was a knock at her door. She went over and opened it to find a purple unicorn standing looking a little worried.
“Hi Zecora I was wondering if you could make me a cure for fire breathing. Spike keeps on accidentally breathing fire when he talks.”
“I can make you a cure, of that I am quite sure. But I must finish my brew, for this person who to me, is quite new.”
The purple unicorn looked past Zecora, she walked in as the zebra went back to her work. “Hello sir, my name is Twilight Sparkle.”
She bowed for some reason, he felt uncomfortable for a moment.
“Hi, uh, my name is Stasis, may I ask why your bowing?”
“Stasis? That doesn't sound too royal.”
“Royal? What are you talking about? I don’t even know where I am.”
“Wait, what? Your in Zecora’s hut in the Everfree Forest. And normally Alicorns are royal. Are you lost?”
“Well I kinda just showed up in the middle of the forest, Zecora said I came from an explosion. I woke up and passed out, I woke up again and I was here.”
“An explosion? I need to go look this up!”
“How would you look it up?”
“Books, of course. I live in a library in Ponyville so it should be easy for me to find something about ponies coming out of explosions. You were probably teleporting and messed up and lost your memory, it happens more often than you’d think.”
Zecora brought over a bottle and a bowl, she gave the bottle to Twilight, and handed Stasis the bowl, he drank it and gagged. It was horribly bitter. Twilight levitated the bottle with her horn and was holding it in front of her.
“Thank you Zecora, I should be going, you could come with me if you like Stasis.”
“Ok, if you don’t mind Zecora.” He looked over at Zecora for confirmation.
“It is fine, I hope you find out what happened in time.”
Twilight opened the door and walked out, Stasis followed. The alicorn was looking around as they walked trying to see if he could remember anything familiar. Twilight looked over at him.
“So you don’t recall anything?”
“No, not really, oh wait, there was this voice and it said something about me being asleep for a long time, and that something bad would happen if I was with the same influences for too long.”
“A voice? Hm, that’s weird, I’ve never heard of voices being heard. What kind of influences?”
“I don’t know, it just said influences..”
“Could you have been listening to Zecora or somepony else? This doesn’t make any sense. Was it a male or female’s voice?”
“No, it definitely wasn’t Zecora, no rhyming, and I’m not sure if it was a guy or a girl. I can only remember the words, not the voice, sorry.”
“It’s fine, it isn’t your fault, but it just sounds really odd. Plus your an Alicorn! I mean normally Alicorns are royalty. So somepony must know who you are.”
“I guess that makes sense. But still, how could I just lose my memory from teleporting wrong?”
“Well, the way it normally happens is that when you mess up when you come out, you hit your head.”
“Hm, well I guess that would explain the headaches.”
The two walked in silence for the longest time. The entirety of the walk she looked lost in thought. After making it out of the forest she looked up, snapped out of her thoughts, and stopped. He abruptly stopped with her.
“Well this is ponyville, well, the outskirts anyways.”
“Looks nice.”
“Oh it is! It has some of the nicest ponies I’ve ever met.”
“Okay, so where’s your house?”
“Oh it’s just on the other side of town.”
They started walking in general silence again. When they got into town Stasis started looking around at the buildings, there was a large clock tower, as the walk continued he saw more buildings, one looked like it was made out of candy and assorted treats. They passed a large building in the middle of town. They eventually stopped at a large tree.
“Why did we stop?”
“We’re here.”
“But, it’s a tree.”
“Yes, but it is also my house.”
“Oh okay..”
Twilight opened the door with her magic and as he walked in, he dropped his jaw, the inside was a huge tree that was hollowed out and made into a pretty big house, it looked comfortable enough. Twilight looked over and saw his expression. She laughed a little.
“ Weren't expecting an actual house?”
“Well, no actually.”
“It’s okay, I’ve had that reaction before. Spike, where are you at?”
A small purple and green dragon came from upstairs. He had his mouth zipped. Literally zipped, he had a zipper attached to his mouth.
“Um how does he have a zipper on his mouth?”
“Oh, he couldn’t stop talking and burning everything so I had to do it, I used magic.”
“That doesn’t seem right..”
“It’s fine.”
Spike came down and crossed his arms and gave her a dirty look.
“Oh don’t give me that look, just drink this.”
She hovered the bottle over to his hands and he grabbed it, unzipped his mouth and drank all of the contents of the bottle. He gagged and Stasis chuckled, he knew the feeling.
“It tastes awful doesn't it?”
“You have no idea.”
“Oh yeah I’m pretty sure I do.”
“Okay, but anyways, I’m-”
“Spike, yes I figured that much out.”
“Okay well I've got chores to do so if you don’t mind, I’ll get to them.”
“Nice to meet you too.”
He walked off and started cleaning random things. Twilight spoke up.
“Sorry about that, he’s just in a bad mood, he got yelled at earlier when my books got burned.”
“It’s fine, I’d probably be pretty upset if I had my mouth zipped all day too.”
“Hey! I had to do it. He would’ve burned this place to the ground.”
“I know, it had to be done, I was joking.”
“Oh, okay. Well I’m gonna start looking for a book to see if I can help find out what happened to you.”
“Sounds like a plan, can I help? Or should I just find something to do.”
“No, it’s fine, you could stay here and read a book. I’ve got several.”
“Eh, I don’t want to get a headache again, could I just go out to town and get familiar with the place?”
“Sure, I don’t see why not, I’ll come get you if I find anything. Do be careful though. And don’t get lost.”
“Okay, I’ll try not to.”
He laughed and walked out the door.
