> The Journey of Blaze Wing the white parasprite > by The One With The Crystal > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > The Beginning of our story > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Parasprites. Everyone knows them and everyone hates them. True that they are cute and are good for company, but they can empty out an entire city's food supply in less than a day. Also with the ability to multiply themselves without the need for a mate makes them even more dangerous. More parasprites means more food to be eaten. Soon even the Princesses had enough. With an legal law passed out the Princesses allowed the parasprites to be hunted. Parasprite wings could be used for making a type of medicine that helped treat the pain in pegasi wings whenever they got intense cramps. Since they could multiply by themselves it wasn't a concern to anypony. Well except for Fluttershy. Stallions and young stallions (sometimes there would be some mares and fillies) would go into the Everfree Forest (with supervision for at least a dozen hot air-balloons. Mostly it was a unicorn sport, but with their technology they were able to make a bow guns for earth and pegasus ponies. For a few years everything went smoothly and everypony was having fun. This also lessened the appearance of parasprites in cities and from what the research ponies said the parasprite population hasn't dropped a bit. What slightly had everypony concerned was that the parasprites have started to eat less amounts of food for long periods of time. "Rarity!" Sweetie Belle yelled as she walked into her sisters store. "Sweetie Belle, deary, please use your inside voice. I have a terrible headache and I don't need any loud noises right now." Rarity said as she gripped her head with her hooves. Sweetie Belle looked at the floor for a bit as she tried to figure out how to word it correctly. "Uum..........Rarity?" Sweetie Belle asked softly. "Yes dear?" Rarity responded. "Can I go...........parasprite hunting with Scootaloo and her family?" Sweetie Bell asked. Rarity looked back at Sweetie Belle as though she had said a foul word. "Why would you ever want to do such a dastardly thing as to hunt parasprites?" Rarity asked. Sweetie Belle looked around the room for a bit once more. "Well. I've heard that Scootaloo and her family has done it before and I just want to try it ." Sweetie said with a little bit of hope that Rarity would let her go. "Sweetie I don't think that is a good idea. You could get hurt out there or worse." Rarity said with concern. "Pleeeeeeeeaaaaaaase!? I'll be extra careful." Sweetie Belle plead. Rarity sighed. "You've learned how to levitate objects with you magic?" She asked. Sweetie Belle nodded. "You know how to use a bow gun properly?" Sweetie Belle nodded again. "Are you done with ALL of your homework?" Sweetie Belle went to get her saddle bags. When she came back she showed Rarity her completed math and history assignments. "Okay you can go." Rarity said. Sweetie Belle grinned from ear to ear when she heard those four words. "BUT! Twilight has to come with you." Rarity included. Sweetie Belle lost her smile. "Twilight never lets anyone of us have any fun. She always making us do safety procedures." Sweetie Belle said as she rolled her eyes. Rarity almost laughed at that. It was true that Twilight made everypony she was with do safety procedures before doing anything that might cause serious injuries. "Its better to be safe than sorry Sweetie Belle. Also Twilight and Fluttershy are the only two ponies that I know that can actual handle you and your friends. Twilight has studied first aid too so if anypony gets hurt you won't to walk all the way to the hospital for medical help right away." Rarity said. Sweetie Belle took the cards she was dealt and went to Scootaloo's house. Once their she told Scootaloo what would happen. At first she wasn't happy, but she guessed it was okay as long as one of her friends got to come with her. "Alright Scoots time to get a move on." Said a female voice from inside. "Scootaloo is that your sister? I thought your parents were going to take us." Sweetie Belle said. "Yeah I know, but Applejack is in court right now and my parents are witnesses." Scootaloo answered. Sweetie Belle looked like she was just hit with a ton of bricks. "Wait. How did Applejack get sent to court?" Sweetie Belle asked. "Oooooh yeah. You were at your parent's house that weekend. Well anyway me and Applebloom tried to buy all three of us cameras to get a photography cutie mark when you came back. We bought the cameras, but there was something off about them. Applebloom tried out one of the cameras just to be safe. When the camera flashed it.......well.....exploded." Scootaloo said rubbing the back of her head with one of her hooves. Sweetie Belle gasped. "Is she okay?" She asked. "Yeah, but thats not the weird part. After the camera exploded once it exploded again into little pieces and then those pieces caught on fire." Scootaloo finished. "Scoots come on we have to get going now if we are to make it in time." A pegasus mare walked into the room. She had the same coat as Scootaloo, except it was a darker shade. Her mane was a bright red and it reached down to her lower neck. Her eyes were a light yellow. "Oh hey Sweetie Belle. You guys all ready to go?" She asked. "Yes Starlight." Scootaloo said. The trio started to head for the library to get Twilight. Twilight had everything that they needed and this time it wasn't put into a giant suitcase. It was a first aid kit, a lunch box with a couple of daisy sandwiches, and a couple of juice boxes. The hot air balloons were still in the sky so they had enough time. "Now you guys I know that you want to go on ahead and start hunting, but we have to stick together alright?" Twilight said. Starlight, Scootaloo, and Sweetie Belle nodded their heads. Once they were in the middle of the area Twilight did her usual safety measures. "Ammo supply check, weapons are ready check, now lets see what else there is." Twilight said to herself. Starlight was almost asleep at the moment. Scootaloo had her bow gun strapped on and Sweetie Belle had her's in her magical grip. "Urgh if she doesn't hurry up I won't be able to hold this much longer." Sweetie belle said to herself. "Don't worry about it. How about this. Twilight has at least a thousand things on that list so while she checks it we can go exploring near by and look for some parasprites." Scootaloo said. Sweetie Belle was awestruck. That was the most smartest plan Scootaloo has came up with all week. Sweetie Belle nodded eagerly. Sweetie and Scootaloo wondered around the forest for a while. They made sure that they stayed in the sunlight paths. They were starting to get bored of seeing nothing for thirty minutes. Suddenly lady luck smiled down on them as they found a small clearing filled with parasprites. "Wow. Their all so pretty." Sweetie Belle said. Scootaloo aimed with deadly accuracy at one of the parasprite. Time slowed down as Scootaloo shot the arrow from it's resting place. A fire ball came out from the trees as it swirled around the arrow melting it in mid-air. The filly's jaws dropped. "Wha........What was that?" Scootaloo stepped back in fear. The parasprites in the area fled into the thick forest woodlands. "Um.......Scootaloo I think we should leave." Sweetie Belle suggested. Sadly lady luck's smile did not shine down on the fillies this time. A small ball rolled out from a tree. When it landed with a thud the two fillies jerked around to see it. When they saw nothing but a ball they started to relax. Then right before their eyes the ball began to unravel into a form. First it it's legs came unfolded as did it's wings. The wings had some kind of metallic machine on them. Finally it opened it's eyes. A white parasprite was standing before them. "Phew I thought it was a real threat. I'll take care about this." Sweetie Belle said. With one simple pull of a trigger the arrow flew through the the air. Click, Click, Dom that was the sound Scootaloo heard from somewhere. A flame covered the parasprite's wings as it took to the skies. Sweetie Belle looked up with a dumbstruck as the parasprite came down with a twister of flames. The two fillies quickly ran back to where they started. Twilight had finished her checklist for her checklist for her other checklist and was ready to go, but there was only one problem or make it two. While she was off in her own world the girls had managed to slip away into the course. The second was that Starlight was out like a lamp. "I have got to stop making so many checklists." Twilight said as he made her hoof contact with her face. "TWILIGHT! STARLIGHT! HELP!" a scream shouted from one of the paths. Starlight woke up instantly to the sound. "Twilight info now!" She shortened her sentence. "The girls wondered off while I ran through my checklists and are now being chased by something." Twilight said as she started to run. It didn't take long to find the two fillies. The site nearly caused Twilight to go into a total mind lock-down. The two girls were cornered by a flaming winged parasprite. Starlight was about to stomp the little creature into the ground. Twilight spotted her from making any moments. One wrong move and the girls would be nothing, but ashes. The parasprite just looked at the two horrified fillies. Click, Click, tink Scootaloo heard. 'What is that sound?' She thought. The flames on the the parasprite's wings disappeared and it's wings weren't even singed. It took off into the woodlands of the Everfree forest. "Can we go home now?" Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo asked with shocked eyes > The start of Blaze Wing's journey > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Blaze laughed his little head off from the scene he had just witnessed. "Those girls had it coming to them." He laughed out. An elderly parasprite walked up to him. "Blaze did you really have to scare those two fillies. Though they tried to kill our people there wasn't any need to scare them that much."She said. She was a light purple parasprite with red stripes on her legs. She was the parasprite's oldest elder and was their leader. Her name was Rosana. She was a kind leader that believed that everyone was equal even in these times. Back then parasprites could enter a town, eat some food, and be kicked out with little to no injuries. Now they had to go into towns in small legions and bring back food to feed. The only problem was that the parasprites multiplied themselves almost on a regular basis, but with the hunts going on it didn't make a budge in the population for the past few years. All parasprites had lost hope that the hunts would stop some would even fly out into the open to get shot down already. There was one parasprite that wouldn't give up so easily and that parasprite is Blaze Wing the rare white parasprite. "Rose. I know you think that everyone should get along, but they have killed thousands of us in a few years." Blaze said. "Yes that is true, but we have eaten millions of their food for longer than they have harmed us."Rosana are you saying that we deserve this?" Blaze said as he flinched back. The elder turned around as she sighed "I do not mean that we deserve this. No one deserve this. This is just our punishment from Father Discord." Rosana said as she walked away. Parasprites are a creation of Discord from a eons ago. They saw him as the father of all of them and treated him like so. Now a days the parasprites would pray to him so that the hunts would stop and that they could find food in peace. Blaze stopped believing in that stuff a long time ago. "Rosana you know I don't be believe in that stuff anymore. Its all just a bunch of stupid thrash." Blaze said. Click, click, dom Blaze;s wings caught on fire again as he floated in the air. "I'm going to the diamond dogs. I need some more gem fuel." Blaze finished as he flew away. Rosana shook her head and sighed "That child is lost as a blind dog. I hope that he finds the path he was born to walk on." Rosana said as she walked around the small camp that was their home. Blaze flew off toward the mountains of the diamond dogs. Blaze was always the ones to think of new inventions. Thoughts how he was able to create his blazix. Basically it was what he used to make his wings catch on fire without causing them to burn off. There was one problem though was the power source. For the blazix to work Blaze needed a jewel that was very common to everyone and everything. Black gem crystals. Crystals with the properties of a gem. True that it was common, but to get it you had to journey to a pitch black cavern hidden among a system of underground railroads. Only the diamond dogs can remember where the cavern is. The diamond dogs that lived at the mountains knew Blaze like a brother. Blaze's blazix didn't go without a return of a pay. Blaze didn't have money. What kind of a parasprite would? So Blaze spent his spare time working in the mines of the diamond dogs for a small pay, but he got the work done. Right now after a few years he was very close to paying off his debt he only needed one more payment. Blaze arrived at the mountain tops of the diamond dogs. A tall dog climbed out of a hole in the ground. He had a collar with an orange gem on it and a red coat. Rover was his name. "Blaze! Just in time. Quick, jobs needs to be finished!" He said as he dove back underground. Blaze dove down the hole after him, following the dog's glowing orange gem so he didn't get lost in the many corridors. Finally they landed in a brightly lite corridor that lead to a larger room. "Digger dogs are sick. We nee you to work the digging tools." Rover said when he opened the door. Blaze knew how to work the tools that the dogs had obtained. The dogs didn't know how to work the tools saying that the tools had "Too many thingies". Blaze turned a few knobs and a few dials before activating a drill. Another dog that was there with him grabbed it and drilled holes in the spot where there was supposed to be digging activity. The little parasprite flew around the cavern of a thousand passageways looking around for a couple of more jobs. He had already done some heavy lifting around the place. Blaze has always had a hard head literally. Blaze has stopped a rolling boulder before with nothing, but his head. After that though Blaze's head did bleed, but he was happy as ever. Blaze always looked for a challenge to beat, he even looked for a rival a couple of times. The little parasprite was blown over by a large explosion from a hall not too far away from him. Blaze rushed quickly towards the hall with a single scene to meet him. There was an old digger dog under a rock and a younger dogs leaned up against the wall knocked out cold. They must have came in contact with some explosive gas. Blaze thought Blaze went towards the digger dog first and started to move the boulder that trapped him. "No.......brother Blaze......get......youngster first."The dog said. Blaze was confused at first. He knew the rules around here. One of the rules explains that young dogs couldn't do any high-class jobs and couldn't produce much pay for the products they obtain. Blaze looked back at the child then back at the dog. "Youngster.......will learn.......youngster will grow, but not if he dies...........here. I'm......old............will not last..........much longer.........please." The diamond dog said. Blaze sighed as he flew to the kid and dragged him by his coat. Other diamond dogs came to the scene. As Blaze flew to a near by rock to think. 'Diamond dogs have extremely good noses so if one one was to come across an explosive gas leak he or she would have noticed it. This was a set up.' Blaze thought. "Alright! ALRIGHT! Everyone is dismissed. That goes for you too Blaze." Rover commanded as he handed the parasprite a four pieces of black jewels. Blaze was surprised by the short work day, but he got to go back home early and that meant more time with his only friends. Destino and Carla. Destino was like a friend and a enemy to Blaze. He was black with golden stripes on his legs. Destino helped him out in the rough parts of life, but at the same time he was also a rival at almost everything Blaze does. Carla was a parasprite that was the most liked in the whole camp. She was JUST a friend. She was light purple and the only parasprite with a patch of fur. Some say when she was born she landed on a pony and took a bit of fur. Carla helped him when his temper seem to have no end. On his way back to the campsite something out of nowhere came and trapped Blaze in a immobile prison. "What the........?" Blaze was lost for words as his imprisoners came out of the shadows. "I told you we would catch that rare parasprite." One of his captives said. "Yeah and it only took us a month of planning, about eighty five bits, and the rest of my dynamite." The other one said. Blaze looked around to find that he was actually in a orb of magic, powerful magic at that. Blaze rammed into the sides of the barrier only to be met with a annoying headache and the laughing of the two ponies in front of him. "Oh your a riot little fella. I would have sold you on the black market, but I already have a offering for you my dear friend." Said one of them. Blaze couldn't really tell because the barrier was so thick that it actually blurred his vision. "Arrrgh. I swear when I break out of here I'm going to headbutt you two so hard even death won't know who you are." Blaze said. Sadly his threat fell on deaf ears because the barrier also blocked out his voice. This was going to be a very long ride. > Time for the Blue Flame technique > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It is really amazing how such idiots were able to make a very strong barrier. Blaze was put into the back of a cart in a box. Even though he couldn't see anything he heard the two bickering about what direction to take, when to stop, why not to stop, mostly stupid stuff to say the least. Finally after what seemed like eons the cart came to a stop. Blaze heard a voice from outside. "Let us see what you have in the back if you don't mind." Said a strong voice. "Uh......I don't think that is needed." One of the idiots said nervously. Blaze smiled at the thought about those two getting caught with whats ever in this box. Blaze came up with an idea. With his new gem crystals in his blazix he could now do one of favorite special moves. Click, click, click, click, click, clack, clack, clack, clack, clack, his blazix kept on making that noise. "Whats that noise?" Said the strong voice. Blaze heard hoofsteps approach the box. A light blue aura enveloped the box's wooden top. The top of the box was ripped off and surprising the barrier busted at the same time. The two idiots ran away screaming like little school girls. "Go fetch to two." The stallion said. There was sounds of hoofsteps running into the distance. Blaze got a good look at the stallion. He had a white coat and was a unicorn. He had a blue mane with a light blue streak down the middle. From the uniform he was wearing Blaze suggested that he was in the army or something. "Well what do we have here. Lets see.........black magic books.........highly illegal drugs.......white parasprite........weird alicorn necklace....WAIT a white parasprite?"The stallion said in surprise. Parasprites weren't suppose to be here and the hunting season was nearly over for this year. The stallion observed the parasprite. "Wait aren't you that parasprite that frightens hunters for the past few years?" The stallion asked. Blaze scuffed. "I wouldn't brag, but I'm sure to take credit for that." Blaze laughed. The stallion flinched back in surprise. "Parasprites aren't suppose to speak." He said. "We always have been able to talk, but you guys never take the time to listen to us. Your too busy trying to shoot us with bow guns to hear our pleas of mercy. Too busy trying to get rid of us to hear our cries for food. If you haven't noticed already we have started to eat less and that isn't good for us, but you probably don't care anyway." Blaze said while trying to stall for time. Clack, cling, cling cling, cling, cling, cling, 'Come on. Almost their.'. The stallion grabbed the parasprite in a weak magical grip. "There is a major warrant on your head. I think the princesses would be happy to know that you will be out of the way. Oh and by the way my name is Shining Armor captain of the Royal Guard and you my friend are arrested." Shining Armor said. Cling, cling, cling, Tiiiiiiiing.. Finally ! "I don't think that is going to happen." Blaze said as he smiled. With a quick motion his wings caught on fire, but this time it the flames were blue. Shining was a little shocked for a while, but that was all Blaze needed. Blaze broke out of the magic grip and zoomed forward with great speed. He landed a powerful headbutt into Shining Armor's head. Shining grunted as he turned away from the parasprite. This gave Blaze enough time to preform his combo. First he flew circles around the white unicorn at super sonic speeds. This is what the gem crystal can truly do. It creates blue flames that can quicken almost anything. Shining was starting to get annoyed by this parasprite and sought to end this fight quickly, but the parasprite was thinking the same thing. Suddenly the spinning spotted to reveal not one, but four parasprites. "Wha......What? You just have surprise after surprise. I didn't know parasprites could use magic." Shining Armor said as he shook his head. Blaze scuffed. "Its not magic it's science. I'm moving so fast your seeing multiple mes, but thats not the cool part. THIS IS!" Blaze said as the four hims bashed into the sides of Shining Armor. From the left to the right. From above to below. Pain busted out all over his body. "THATS IT! I'VE HAD ENOUGH!" Screamed the captain as he casted a magical barrier. The parasprite smashed right into the shield and slide down the shield as he blacked out. Shining panted very quickly. " This parasprite is a hand full. Its like handling a small version of Rainbow Dash. I should tell the princesses about this guy. Sadly there is no telling what they would do with him. Hmmmm. Its still my duty to report this guy in. I can't just ignore every rule for just one little parasprite." Shining said as he put Blaze back into the cart. The guards that were with him came back soon saying that the two culprits had gotten away. Shining sighed. "There hasn't been this much confusion since the wedding." He said under his breath. After hours of sorting through papers and a conference with the princesses all of them agreed that the parasprite should be put in jail. It was about the time the conference was almost over that Blaze woke up. When he did he realized that he was held in a magical sphere. "You know I'm really getting tired of you unicorns and your magic." Blaze said with a blank stare. The ponies in the room was quiet surprised that he could talk. While the ponies were discussing about what to do next Blaze charged his blazix. 'I don't have enough energy for another Blue Flame, but I can do my regular moves." Blaze thought . Princess Celestia was about to decide the final decision but at the same time Blaze's sphere burst into tiny pieces. "Yeah. He can do that too." Shining Armor said to the princesses. Princess Luna was amazed. "Is that a blazix. I have heard about them before, but I have never seen one in person." She said. "Well finally someone noticed, but I have to leave now." Blaze said as he flew towards the door. "Don't worry. That door is thick enough that no parasprite is able to move it." Princess Celestia said to her ponies. The ponies seemed calm at the moment, but the moment Blaze's head met with the door it opened on impact. At least a thousand jaws hit the floor. Blaze flew out of the room and into the hall. Prince Cadence flew into the room to seen everyone's jaws on the floor. "What did I miss?" She asked > PIE! MY ONLY WEAKNESS! > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Laughter filled the empty halls as Blaze flew through them. Nothing was as good as seeing shocked pony faces. Sadly Blaze didn't have time for laughing to the shocked faces of ponies for his stomach was growling. "Urgh. I forgot how hungry I am." Blaze said as he flinched from the hunger pains. Suddenly a taunting smell filled his nose. It was a scent that Blaze had know for all of his life. The scent of apple pie. "PIE!" Blaze said as he zoomed through the halls looking for the source of the smell. Blaze rushed past room after room. Flew up floor after floor. Past thousands of terrified servants, but still didn't find the pie he had been looking for. Suddenly as if lady luck had beamed down on him with the luck of a thousand four leaf clovers, Blaze was able to find the pie he had looked for for so long. There the pie was sitting on a plate next to a pony with wings and a horn. 'Alicorn, that she was.......I think.' Blaze thought. She had a pink coat and multiple colors in her mane. Blaze really didn't care about her details he just wanted the pie. The pie that had a golden crust and was still warm. There was still some steam coming off it. Blaze couldn't help himself as he dove right into the pie only to be blocked by what else? A MAGIC FORCE! Only half an inch from the golden pie. "I knew the trap would work. You must be very hungry ."The mare said. "FLAGITHAMETH!" Blaze tried to scream even though he had he mouth wide open. It was a word that he made up. It translates to 'SHUT UP!'. The pink mare smiled at the little parasprite. "You know I've never seen a parasprite like you before. Especially these metal things on your wings." The mare said. Blaze didn't look like he wanted to be drooled over by a stupid mare who is standing in the way of him and his pie! Blaze's face contorted into a face of serious concentration. Then his entire wings blossomed with a roaring fire 'X'. The pink alicorn mare gasped and flinched as she dropped Blaze into the pie. In no time at all the pie was completely devoured the moment Laughter filled the empty halls as Blaze flew through them. Nothing was as good as seeing shocked pony faces. Sadly Blaze didn't have time for laughing to the shocked faces of ponies for his stomach was growling. "Urgh. I forgot how hungry I am." Blaze said as he flinched from the hunger pains. In no time at all the pie was completely devoured the moment Blaze landed in to pie. "You must have been really hungry. Sorry I kept you waiting." The mare apologized. "Apology accepted." Blaze said as he sighed. A few minutes pasted before anyone said anything. "Oooooookaayy. Why are you staring at me?" Blaze asked as he scooted back a few inches. "Oh sorry. Its just that I have always been told that parasprites multiply themselves after they eat or after a while." The mare said. "Yeah that is true, but for some reason I don't do that. Also why are you so calm around me? Most ponies ate shocked when they hear me talk." Blaze asked. The mare seemed to be thinking it over for a bit. "Well I've had weirder experiences before." The mare said. "Really? Like what?" Blaze asked sounding disbelief. "Hmm. I've been foalnapped before my wedding, had my husband drained of not only his magic, but his love for me, had to survive in a crystal cavern with barely any water and food, for my honeymoon I had to go to an ancient kingdom that was thought to have disappeared forever, stayed up for days and nights barely eating or drinking to keep a magical force field up, and got thrown through the air by my husband like a javelin to grab an ancient artifact that would restore peace to the kingdom. Is that weird enough for you?" The mare asked. "I don't know what to say." Blaze said with a surprised face. Now it was time for the mare to laugh at the little parasprite. "Hey. I never got your name." The mare said. "Its Blaze. Blaze Wing. You?" Blaze asked. "I'm Princess Cadence. Its nice to meet you Blaze, but I have to end this conversation a little bit short." Princess Cadence said as she used her magic to grab a hamster ball that she had hidden in a plant not too far from them and place Blaze in it. Then she twisted it to seal tight. "Hey whats the big idea! What your going to take me to a sound proof room and kill me for my wings or something!" Blaze yelled with fire in his eyes. Cadence sighed. "I don't like the idea of killing creatures that can't defend themselves. Though from what I have heard you can defend yourself, but does that go for the others as well?" Princess Cadence asked with curiosity. Blaze looked down at the ground. He was the only one to make a Blazix. Many parasprites have tried, but all have failed. Destino was close to getting it right, but failed just like the rest. Carla was the ONLY one that was able to recreate the Blazix, but they would only fit her. Nobody made a blueprint to the Blazix. It was only by chance that Blaze was able to make them. "No, only one other can protect herself." Blaze said sadly. "I also hate the idea of these 'hunts', but my aunts and husband aren't listening to my pleas. They just say its for a better cause, but they don't realize what kind of mistake they have made have they?" Princess Cadence asked. Blaze nodded his head. "That is why I trapped you. I'm going to turn you in, but not like that. You will be questioned and hopefully my husband will understand your troubles. The least thing you could be sentenced for is a thirty bit fine." Princess Cadence said. "What if he doesn't and send me to jail?" Blaze asked. "Oh trust me he will." "Did you see the way....." "If you go peacefully and stop asking so many questions I will get you another pie.". Blaze grabbed a roll of duck tape with his wings. Surprisingly the duck tape had shrunken down to where it could fit inside of the hamster ball and not take up much space. Blaze then tore out a piece of duck tape and applied it to his mouth so that it was sealed shut. "Thats better. Wait and see my friend. You will be surprised at what I can do." Cadence said as she walked down the hall to Shining Armor's office. > A game of strategy and piecakes > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Blaze was astounded. Princess Cadence was right! Well sort of. At first Shining Armor was totally flipping out because his wife had made a deal with a so called 'criminal'. After the conference ( which had to be rescheduled because some old pony had to push some of Blaze's buttons ) Blaze had to pay a thirty bit fine for terrorizing ponykind and after he payed the fine his punishment would be decided. Though Shining Armor didn't let him go that easily. Blaze flew into the courtyard where Shining Armor was waiting for him. In front of him was a large board and triangle pieces on it. "What is this?" Blaze asked. "This is a strategy game we use to train new recruits it tells us if they are ready for the fast pace of war or combat. I still don't trust you and you have a long way to go to earn my trust. This is the first step. If you can beat me in this game I MIGHT consider rethinking my thoughts about you." Shining said. His words were tough as rocks. "And if I lose?" Blaze asked sounding cocky. "Then I will keep a Royal Guard member on you at all times." Shining answered without any hesitation. "Then I accept!" Blaze said. "Now what are the rules?" "Each piece represents a general of an army. You can only move one piece at one time. There are twenty four pieces on each team and once the general has been conquered that person wins. There are spear men who can attack one block away. Archers that can attack two blocks away. Spell casters that can attack four block away, Finally pegusi that can attack two blocks away. Do think you can remember that?" Shining Armor said. Blaze nodded his head. "Then you have the first move." Blaze looked down at the pieces and found a piece that had a spear painted on it. He moved it up a square. Shining instantly moved a pegasus piece forward. Blaze moved an archer behind the spearman. Shining moved a unicorn piece slanted left. Blaze moved his spearman up a space. Shining moved his unicorn piece slanted right. "I attack your spearman from four blocks away. You lost one piece." He said. Shining seemed very concentrated on this game, but so was Blaze. They played the game for hours until Shining had half of his army and Blaze had only three pieces. His general, an archer, and a spearman. "Looks like its over for you. The odds of you winning are one in a million. I'm surprised that you made it this far." Shining Armor said. Blaze chucked a little bit. "Whats so funny?" Shining Armor asked. "Its just that........what you said just then........reminded me of a friend I have and he said the exact same thing, but do you want to know what I told him?" Blaze asked as he started to move towards his game pieces. "I can still win with just one!" Blaze said. It was like lightning! In a blaze of commands and strategy instincts Blaze took out the rest of Shining's army. Shining was left speechless. "Shining buddy if you don't close that mouth of your's your going to be eating flies for dinner." Blaze joked as he flew away. "That kid has some skills. Okay lets see what else he's got." Shining said as he called a guard over. "I want you to follow Blaze around for today. When you think he least expects it ambush him." Shining said. "You want us to hurt the little guy?" the guard asked. "No. Just give him a little rough housing. The traditional welcoming to be precise." Shining said. The guard nodded as he walked off. The traditional welcoming was a term used in the barracks alot. For any 'fresh meat' that joined the ranks they would get ambushed by two royal guard and after that it was a wrestling match. All fun and games. Nopony got hurt too back. The last serious injury that had was a broken back leg, but they have learn from their mistakes and still carry on the tradition. "Sir why do you keep on pushing this parasprite to his limits?" A servant said from out of nowhere. "Jinkens you always sneak up on me no matter what I do. How do you do it?" Shining Armor asked. "Well if I told you it wouldn't be a secret now would it? A slice of cloud cake?" Jinkens asked. Shining Armor gladly took the cake using his magic. Blaze started to fly close to the ground now. His wings were getting tired and he wanted to land, maybe walk to the kitchen and see what they have. Blaze suddenly realize how distant he was from the others. He stopped to think for a bit. Why am I different from the others? Constantly ran through his mind. He was so deep in thought that he didn't notice a large shadow cover him. Then a punch knocked the wind out of him as he flew a great distance. When Blaze landed he did a whole bunch of rolls down the corridor and finally stopped when he hit a wall. "Did anyone get the number of that cart that hit me?" Blaze said in a daze. His strength was greatly drained and so was his stamina. Click, Click, PING! "Dang it I don't have enough power." Blaze said to himself. A blurred figure suddenly rushed towards Blaze. Blaze didn't have enough time to react so he placed his wings along his body, tucked in his legs, and began to roll. Blaze has done this many times before to escape from many certain death. The figure missed Blaze by a land slide and hit the wall by accident. Blaze stopped rolling after he turned a corner and found himself facing a dead end. His wings were still tired from the constant flapping so he couldn't fly out. Then Blaze found something that really surprised him. A cupcake made out of a pie! There was a note attached to it. Blaze pulled it off and started to read it. I know that I'm not in this story, but I couldn't help myself! I made this piecake JUST for you! I hope you enjoy it! Signed, Pinkie Pie Two things happened in that moment. One, Blaze was totally confused about who this 'Pinkie Pie' was and why did she make him a............piecake? Two, Blaze's hunger for pie resurfaced and he devoured the dessert in one gulp. Slowly Blaze felt a small tingle surge through out his body, then it quickly got out of control as it made him all hyper. "Tooo.......muuuuuch.......suuuugarrrr!" Blaze said even though his body was jumping all around. With a burst of energy Blaze flew throw the air at super sonic speeds. Every thing was just a slow blur to Blaze, as if it was all slowed down. The figure that knocked the breath out of him stood right where he left him. He appeared to be looking for something or someone. "Big guy wants to play rough huh? Well then let go!" Blaze said to himself as he headbutted the figure. It was a pony. Not just a pony a Royal Guard pony. That made it a whole lot easier for Blaze to let loose his anger that he held so perfectly well the passed few years. The was only one attack that he could perform at the moment and that was...."Multiple Headbutts!" Blaze screamed at as he attacked repeatedly. Not even giving the pony to regain its balance or breath Blaze kept on attacking without a moments hesitation. Suddenly Blaze's sugar rush ended with a fast and blunt stop. With all of his energy spent he pasted out on the floor. "Shining never did say that Blaze could do this. The little guy actually did a number on me. Well I better get this guy to his room." The guard said as he picked up Blaze with his teeth. > Bad News > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Blaze flew around town for a bit searching for a job that he could work at to pay off his debts. So far all he got was rude ponies yelling at him, two women fainting, two angry husbands trying to kill him, and he almost took an arrow to the face. "Man, I guess a lot of ponies hate parasprites." Blaze said to himself. Blaze checked how much energy he had left in his Blaziks. With three 'clicks' Blaze knew he didn't have much left. Knowing how ponies work and how they didn't like the idea of a wild parasprite roaming loose in the city. They probably have some guards keeping a close eye on him. There weren't that many shops that the white parasprite could go to. He had thought about going to a bakery, but then he had some second thoughts. Blaze might accidentally eat the sweat and then be in even more debt. Then he saw something. A stand with two diamond dogs in it. The one to the right had brown fur with a black stripe going around his neck. The one to the left was a light black with a scar over his right eye. Blaze was excited to see someone that he could actually talk to without trying to get killed. The diamond dogs were about to leave the stand when they spotted Blaze flying to them. "Brother Blaze! It good to see you." Said the diamond dog to the right. "Its good to see you to Nenetix. How are things going in the mines?" Asked Blaze. "Everything good. Exploded mine-shaft fixed. Found two stock worth of gems, but that not important. What happened to Brother Blaze's village?" said the dog to the left. "Himick what are you talking about?" asked Blaze. "Diamond Dog leader went to go find Brother Blaze to tell news, but when leader got to Brother Blaze's village it was burnt down. Many wingless parasprites were found." Nenetix said. "What!?!" Blaze yelled. He was surprised to hear about this. He didn't even care that ponies were starting to look towards him. "It true. Large funeral ceremony was preformed. Not much of village was spared. We only found bag with coins in it." Himick said. He reached under the stand and pulled out a sack of bits. "Did anyone survive?" Blaze asked. His eyes were filled with concern. "Sorry Brother Blaze, we do not know." Himick said. "Thanks anyway guys. Hey are you going to use that bag of bits?" Blaze asked. "No, Brother. You can have it." Nenetix said as he handed over the bag of bits to Blaze. The bag was heavy for the little parasprite to carry, but he had carried heavier things before. Blaze made his way back to the castle feeling really tired and depressed. He gave over the bag to the servant that was given the task to watch Blaze while he stayed at the castle. The servant counted forty bits and said that he would take them to the princess. "Ten bits left over." Blaze said. He was about to fly back to his room, but a piece of paper landed right in front of him. It read: Dear Blaze, Sorry about what happened to your friends and family, but don't be too sad. Your two closest friends are still alive. Also you probably want revenge on the ponies that destroyed your village and yes. Three ponies attack, murdered, and burnt down your village. I bet that makes you angry doesn't it. The three ponies will be at a bar this evening telling how they scored the biggest batch of parasprite wings in the season. Do as you wish. Signed, D Blaze was slightly relieved that his two best friends managed to survive, but that didn't cover the fact that he was angry. His anger reached levels he didn't know existed. The black crystal gems in his Blaziks began to glow a dark red. Blaze's anger fueled the crystal gems' power. 'Click'. Blaze knew he had to get out of here and now.'Click click'. Blaze flew as fast as he could and managed to burst through a door that led to a garden. 'Click click click.' Blaze search for the nearest body of water and found a small pond. He jumped in the pond just in time. His Blaziks unleashed a powerful column of fire for all to see. It soared high in the sky and twisted and turned into the form of a phoenix. It was the twilight hour and both princesses watched the show in awe. Even the ponies below in Canterlot could see it and watched in awe as well, but this show was not to last forever and the phoenix faded away. Blaze was laying down on his side with his wings limp. The water that wasn't evaporated fell back to the ground. A crowd began to flock towards the site to where that saw the spectacular show. Only to find more that most of the pond water was gone and Blaze pasted out on the ground.
