> Rise of unbalance > by shadow avenger > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > The seel is broken > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Deep beneath Canterlot castle where Twilight Sparkle had been imprisoned when the Changelings attacked, laid a statue of strange design. This statue was humanoid in appearance and stood on two legs with arms that divided into a gullet-like shape from the elbows down. The statue had a scale on its chest which was divided straight down the middle, along with the rest of the statue. The statue consisted of some strange colors with the right side of the statue being as white as marble and the half scales half on this side of the statue colored a deep jet black whereas the other half was a mirrored opposite, jet black and the of the the scale on this side was pure white. This was no ordinary statue, for it was the prison of an ancient evil desperately trying to escape.     Two solar guards by the names of Gold Lance and Sun Chaser had descended to explore the caves. Both of them were unicorns who had dazzling white coats due to their enchanted armor meaning that their cutie marks were their main means of identification. Gold Lance’s cutie mark was two golden lances crossed over each other in an X shape, Sun Chaser on the over hoof showed a half risen sun.     “How deep do these tunnels go?" Gold Lance asked.     "I have no idea." Sunchaser replied.     "We've been exploring these tunnels for a year and we still find new things each day, Sun Chaser." Gold Lance stated.     "Yeah, I’m pretty sure we could explore these tunnels for another decade and still not discover all of its secrets." Sun chaser just about managed to finish his sentence before the ground started to crumble and the rocks beneath them began to fall through "Cave in!" Sun Chaser yelled franticly as the rocks fell.     "Take cover!" Gold Lance shouted, quickly running to the nearest rock shelf for protection with Sun Chaser hurrying behind him.     "Is it over?" Sun Chaser enquired as he leant his head around the rocks to survey the area.     "I think so." Gold Lance answered.     "Did you see that?" Sun Chaser asked suddenly.   “See what?" Gold Lance queried in response.     “It’s over there… down that tunnel that opened up from the cave in, follow me." Sun Chaser declared.     "It doesn’t seem very safe in there…" Gold Lance hesitated as the two of them stared into the dark abyss that lay before them.     "No need to worry because I already found it!" Sun Chaser called out. Then Gold Lance saw it… a figure standing on two legs with the arms outstretched, making it look like the figure was raising its arms in celebration. "What is that?" Gold Lance asked, astonished at the site of the bizarre icon.     "It looks like some kind of statue." Sun Chaser said as he tried to analyse the sculpture.     "A very weird statue, I mean I’ve never seen a pony or anything that looks like this." Gold Lance retorted.     "What do you think we should do with it?" Sun Chaser inquired with great uncertainty.     “We should just leave it." Gold Lance returned.     "But this could be one of a kind and with the all the tunnels we may never find it again. This may well be a once in a lifetime discovery." Sun chaser protested.     ‘Sun Chaser is right.’ Gold Lance thought. This was a statue that could be who knows how rare and he was certain this was the only statute of whoever, or whatever it was. It was the only one of its kind he'd ever seen and probably would never get a another chance to bring it to the surface given not only were there so many tunnels, but they had a habit of caving in on the lower levels, and for some reason he had a craving, in fact an urge to bring it to the surface. "Well, I guess there's no harm in taking it with us." Gold Lance admitted.     What both guards didn't know was that they were making the biggest mistake of their lives.     "What is that?" The pure white alicorn princess asked inquisitively.     "We have no idea your majesty; we simply found it in the caverns." Gold Lance replied.     "Yes, we figured you would know something of it." Sunchaser added.     "Well now that I think about it, I think my father mentioned a statue." Celestia recalled.     "Your father?!" Both solar guards exclaimed.     "Yes, my father, king Nova, he said something about a statue of great importance in history, and that's all I can remember for some reason."     "Really then what will you do with it your majesty?”     Celestia began to think about what to do with it, she was considering giving it to the historical department but then a quiet voice in the back of her head gave a different idea in the most amazingly persuasive tone possible. It was sweet yet abrasive, calm yet strict and it overwhelmed her and bent her will.     "Since Discord’s reform there has been a vacant space in the royal gardens, and I suppose it’s time we changed that." Celestia answered.     "Really?" Sunchaser asked with clear surprise.     "Yes this statue is an important relic that all should know about." said Celestia. If only she knew what it really was, and why it had been placed within the dark reaches of the caves.     ‘This relic should make me happy to remind me of my parents yet something feels wrong about it.’ Princess Luna thought as she looked at the old statue in the royal gardens. ‘It almost feels like… no it can't be, could it… no, no of course not I'm just being paranoid.’ Luna thought. If only she knew the truth.     Now that the statue was free and exposed to all the unbalance in the air, it could begin to break free. The seal holding the evil was continuing to become weaker with each passing day, slowly it pecked away at the spell holding it. The beast within grew closer and closer to freedom. With the effect of being out of the cave, plus the fact that the bearers of the Elements of Harmony had changed twice since his first defeat weakened the seal even more. Then it happened, a small crack formed on the statue, then another and another, small at first but they quickly grew then the cracks joined up to form a spiderweb of cracks and from the statue a single evil laugh could be heard.     "MWHA MMWW HAHA!"
