Edaniel is cast into Equestria, and must make a choice that decides his fate and others. He must shed the weights of his old life, to create a new one in its place, or shroud himself in his old life, to protect him from the terrors the new one holds.
A boy, lost in his thoughts. A being, that watches over all life. A change, that opens infinite possibilities. When a group of friends finds a long-forgotten success, they learn about themselves, others, and all life. They open a portal into their new existence, but no one knows when it will close. They could go on endless adventures, or live their lives, make themselves happy, and forget this ever happened. One of the group can only wonder which life holds his existence well enough.
After being pulled into Equestria, a boy named Edaniel has to decide his fate, and his friends must as well. One decision opens a sea of possibilities for him to indulge in, but which one holds the happy possibilities? Sadly, Edaniel must allow one life to wither and die, while one blooms his existence into a new expanse of paths to choose. Can Edaniel leave behind his old life, to be a new kind of savior, or will he hold on to his old self, and his traditions?
Edaniel Erkuse was sitting in his desk, thinking about the same thing he always thinks about during class. He is thinking about himself, as a multiversal traveler (as he calls it). At first he was just imagining himself in stories, TV shows, books. You name it. one day he decided that he would imagine himself traveling across the dimensions and then next, the multiverses. Edaniel was a thirteen year old, average, normal teenager.
He had green eyes that seemed blue unless you looked closely. He had brown hair-that over the years had gone from blond to dirty-blond to brown-that was slightly long in the front and long in the back that was now turning black. He wasn't exactly a nerd, in fact he didn't have any of the titles. He wasn't a jock, he wasn't a rich-preppy kid. He was a class of his own (although he could be described as a class clown). He was built slightly, not the scrawny way that nerds were, and not the way that jocks were, in that over-built huge fashion. He wasn't ugly, but he wasn't exactly "drop dead gorgeous" either. He was tall for his age. Just like the rest of the men's side of his family. He liked to imagine things. He was a nice guy, who had an ordinary life.
Today he was imagining that he was in the magical land of equestria. The place where ponies rule and is basically peaceful. He was imagining that he and his friends from ponyville were on a nice picnic. He was a pony, just as other seven were ponies, save the dragon. Edaniel was asking a two-toned blue mare if she wanted to join them.
The ponies around him were; A butterscotch yellow mare with a light pink mane, a light pink mare with a slightly darker pink mane, a light purple mare with a darker purple mane, a honey-yellow mare with straw colored hair and a Stetson perched on her head, a marshmallow-colored mare with a violet mane, a Cyan colored mare with a spectrum of colors for a mane, the two-toned mare who was indigo and had an indigo and blue mane, and a light purple and light green baby dragon.
They had not set up the food yet, and were talking about their days. The Butterscotch pony said that hers was nice. The Pink one said that her day was 'Fantasterifulific'. The Purple mare said that her day was good. The White one said that her day was 'simply marvelous'. The Honey-colored one said that she had a hard working day and was looking forward to this. The dragon said that his day was awesome because he got some gems. The pony with the Rainbow mane said that her day could have been about twenty percent cooler. The Indigo pony said that she had a great day.
Edaniel too the bags that carried their supplies off his back and set them down. They began setting the table in the park where they were planning their picnic. Once they finished setting the table, they all sat down. They each took out some food that they had made for the picnic, except for the dragon, the two-toned mare, and Edaniel.
As he was imagining that the others were asking him to pass out the food, his friend Joey leaned over in class and whispered to him, "Hey Edaniel, Guess what?"
"What" Edaniel said in a quiet voice.
"Me and the guys found this really cool, old abandoned building out in the forest. Wanna come see it with us? We're gonna explore it." said Joey.
"Sure, I'm always up for junk like this, man." said Edaniel excitedly
"Mister Erkuse. Is there something you would like to share with the class?" said, the teacher, Mr. Otrahaw. Joey was now trying (and failing horribly) to conceal his burst of laughter at the question.
"uuuuuuuuuuuuuuhuuuuuhhhhuuuuhuuuuhuuuhhhhhhh... Potatoes?" said Edaniel, with a straight face.
"How are you in the eighth grade, Edaniel?" said Mr. Otrahaw.
"I blame the economy, for their misuse of the governmental funds and extrusion of our scholastic funds, as they have driven us into a deep economical crisis, which caused you to start teaching the eighth grade." said Edaniel.
"Oh... Yes. That's why." said Mr. Otrahaw while putting lots of emphasis on the word "That's". At this point, Joey was literally rolling on the floor, laughing uncontrollably at the conversation.
Mr. Otrahaw continued his one-sided discussion of the continent of Asia, after scolding Joey. Edaniel thought about his imaginary life in Equestria and how he wished with all his heart that he could travel the multiverses. To Edaniel, the rest of the day flew by. Joey, on the other hand, kept complaining about how long he would have to wait to get outside and have fun.
Once school was over, Edaniel and Joey went to their homes to prepare. During PE, they both decided that they should meet at the park with the others. Edaniel ate dinner and told his mother that he would be at Joey's house for a while. She said to come home before 11:00. Then, he went to the park to see the group. He showed up at the park to see that his friends, Joey, Kyle, Dylan, Greg, and Tom were waiting for him.
Joey Mencirikone was Edaniels friend that he'd known since the first grade. They had used to be enemies, but after one fight, they were immediate friends. Joey was Spanish, the real Spanish. He was an average height guy, he was nice, he was loyal, and he always, always tried to make Edaniel look good. He had Brown hair with tints of blond and dirty blond. He had brownish/orange eyes. He was well built. He was basically awesome.
Kyle Simericone was Edaniels second newest friend. He knew Joey, so Edaniel gave him a shot. Edaniel had made the right choice. Kyle was short for his age, although not that short. He had blond hair that folded over the side of his bangs, on the side. He was white. He was a nice guy who tried to lighten the mood, a lot. He had dark Blue eyes. He didn't look like it, but he was pretty strong. He was, all in all, a good guy.
Greg Samp was someone that Edaniel had known almost as long as Joey. He had approached him and asked him to be friends. Although they had never met before, Edaniel knew that he would like him. What Greg did was exactly like something that Edaniel would do. Greg had short Black hair that was long in the front and made girls like him (for some unknown space alien Greg reason). He had light brown eyes. He was average height. He was very protective. He was a great friend.
Dylan Exumerics was a friend he had met not to long ago, but still thought of as his second in command, right next to Joey. He was a joker, prankster, whipper snapper, the kind of guy that old people yelled at to get off his lawn. He was Kyle's height. He had the same eyes as Edaniel. He had Brown/Black hair that was always in his eyes. He was kind and generous. He was a good guy for comfort and joking around, and not to mention making you laugh uncontrollably until you almost die. Each of the group has experienced the last one on numerous occasions.
Tom Haloquise was a quiet guy who liked to hang out with his friends. He had met Edaniel a few days after Greg. He was new to the school at the time. He had been in the hallway, quietly heading to class when ,Edaniel, pulling a Greg, asked him to be friends. He had light Brown hair that fell to his cheeks in the back. It was short cropped on the sides and it was slightly longer in front then on the sides. He had Orange/Blue eyes. He was shy and dependable. As were the others, quite dependable. He was (somehow, by unknown reasoning) the second in command of the group.
Edaniel was basically a mix of all his friends. He was generous, kind, happy, shy at times, good-willed, loyal, and pretty honest.
Edaniel walked towards them. Joey was the first to notice. The others gradually looked at him. Some waved, others just waited. Kyle was the first to speak.
"What took ya?" said Kyle.
"My dog exploded" Edaniel deadpanned.
"Harsh" said Greg.
"C'mon lezgo" said Tom
"You know Edaniel, your parents were pretty creative." said Dylan, while smiling.
"If you say that one more time, Dylan, it wont be Dejavou anymore." said Edaniel.
"And what would that make it?"
"A catch phrase"
"hahhahahahhaaha hooooo. That's funny"
"Yeah, ha ha, laugh it up mister 'I dunno where that mailbox came from, sir'" Edaniel laughed.
The group laughed at the memory of Dylan getting in trouble for somehow breaking a window with a mailbox that was still in the ground. After some talking, they headed out. Kyle led the way.
"So. What does it look like?" asked Edaniel
"Imagine a mix between a factory and a mansion, covered in vines and shrubs." said Joey.
"Sounds awesome. How'd you guys find it anyway?" said Edaniel.
"We were looking around in the forest for random junk to mess with." said Dylan.
"Okay" said Edaniel.
Edaniel began imagining himself back in Equestria. He started where he had left off in class.
"Would you pass me the Hay-Fries please, Edaniel." Asked the Butterscotch-colored mare.
"Sure thing, Fluttershy." Edaniel replied.
"Thank you." Fluttershy said.
They ate their food in peace and quiet. Their quiet, however, after a while was interrupted by the baby dragon belching out green flames. This was not unusual, for the dragon acted as a messenger for the Purple unicorn.
"What does it say, Twilight?" A few of the ponies asked.
"It says that the Princess would like to s-"
"Look! There it is Edaniel" said Greg.
They had traveled for nearly two hours. Edaniel notices an outline in the distance.
"Whoa." Edaniel gawked. It was massive. It was more like a mix between an airplane hangar and a factory and a mansion.Edaniel tried to inspect every nook and cranny, as though at any moment it would leave. They walked inside.
"We waited for you to come, to check it out." said Joey.
"Thanks man" said Edaniel.
They explored for a while, until Edaniel found an interesting machine. It was like a gate but with edges made of a weird metal that he'd never seen before. It was covered in layers of dust from what must have been years of sitting in this place. Oddly enough, it had no rust, no signs of decay, it otherwise looked as good as new. It was purplish yellow in color. It was square shaped. It had an emblem, but it too covered in dust to see. He was going to investigate some more, but he heard Joey yell, "Hey guys c'mere". They mostly obliged. He had found an old switch, and a very large one at that.
"I'm 'onna flip it" said Joey.
"I don't think that that's such a great idea buddy" Edaniel said nervously.
"Chill out man, we'll be fine, okay?" said Joey.
"Okay, if you're sure, dude" said Edaniel.
"It's alive!" yelled Joey as he flipped the switch.
Edaniel was still near the machine and he heard it hum to life. All of the dust shook off and it revealed the emblem. It read, PROJECT PORTAL THROUGH. "Get outta there Edaniel!" yelled Kyle and Joey in unison. Edaniel ran, but felt himself being pulled into something. He was sucked into the gate. Everything went black.
In a dimension, countless light years away, A new life form appeared in a flash of light. It was a pony. The pony had dust scattered around him and some old cobwebs as well. The pony appeared to be sleeping. A very powerful entity sensed this pony's presence. It sensed power, it sensed life, it sensed indifference. It also noticed one thing that it couldn't quite name. It was as though this pony was protected.....by nothing. It was impossible, but true.
It was not as though the entity could do anything in its current state, but it would have to dwell into this particular situation as it unfolded. The entity resumed what it was doing, as though nothing had happened. This pass-time was seeking out new toys in its land. In Equestria.
Edaniel awoke to the feeling of grass on his back.He was very drowsy for some reason. He tried to stand, but found that he could not hold himself up. "What's going on" Edaniel said aloud. He kept trying to get up, but to no avail. He tried to look around, but everything was blurred. Things began to come into focus.
He noticed that he was in a large field. He also noticed something very odd. He wasn't himself. He was shorter, by about a foot. He was a different color. He tried to move his fingers, but to his confusion, he couldn't move or feel them. He tried to move his toes, with the same result. ' I'm shorter, I'm naked, and I have hair everywhere, and I don't have thumbs.' Realization dawned on him.
"I'm a pony! Or a monkey." He exclaimed in a mixture of confusion and glee. His mane and tail were both pitch-black.His tail was long, as well as his mane, although the mane wasn't that long. His coat was a normal red color, not different from the kind in a street light. His eyes were still the same Green color. Each of his hooves had large tufts of white fur, that were hanging on the sides of them.
".........I don't know how, but I feel colorful........."
'I wonder just what happened', Edaniel thought. He recalled the events of what happened before he passed out. Just what had happened to him? He could guess that he was near the Everfree Forest, judging by the amount of trees nearby. He remembered the portal, Joey pulling that switch, and feeling an awesome amount of power before passing out. He also remembered A feeling of emptiness, and then a feeling of fullness.The feeling was as though the air around him became physical and part of him. Judging by his feeling and what he thought it meant, he thought that he must be able to use this feeling as if it were an extent of his body.
"I wonder if I can fly" Edaniel said before he launched himself into the air......., and promptly fell on his face.
"ow, my everything"! Edaniel said.
"Okay, I can scratch that off the list". Edaniel said while walking towards the highest hill in the area.
He was at the bottom of the small hill, when a question flew into his mind and hit him like a brick, effectively stopping him. 'I wonder if grass tastes good'. He bent down and ate some grass. He chewed slowly, staring straight ahead. He slowly bent down and ate more while still staring straight ahead. 'Must..... Quote..... Memes!' "Eat 'all' the grass"! Yelled Edaniel, after sticking his hooves in the air, and saying the word 'all' at maximum volume. 'Okay, time to climb some hill'. He climbed the hill and on the other side he saw something beautiful. Ponyville, with all of it's awesomeness just waiting to be found and used for the good of bronykind.
Edaniel took a moment to admire the scenery, looking at everything with extreme detail and curiosity. He noticed a few ponies walking around, such as Lyra and Bon Bon, Colgate, Cheerilie, Rarity, and Rainbowdash. 'Everything is so....... rainbow.....y'. Edaniel began walking down the hill, enjoying the scenery. There was about 40 yards of field behind him, Fluttershy's house was in the distance, about 70 yards to the left, towards the edge of the forest.
The world around him seemed untainted, compared to Earth. 'Is this earth, or is Equestria the planet? I never understood that'. The colours were brighter and seemed unnatural, although, he was trying to explain a dimension of talking ponies. The air tasted cleaner, and the ponies seemed to be in good moods. Everything about this place would make someone want to live here. The grass was greener and seemed like it had been cut minutes ago, but had sharp edges as though it had never been cut.
'Great, now I'm hungry, again.'
There were also animals like birds and bunnies everywhere.
He trotted into town and said hello to Bon Bon and Lyra. As he walked past them, he saw the gingerbread house-like bakery that was Sugarcube Corner. He decided to explore before meeting the mane-6. 'I wonder what episode I'm in'. He began exploring the town, looking at and saying hello to a few ponies. 'Hey, look it's Derpy hooves, or is it Ditsy Doo?' He thought noticing the oddly-eyed pony.
"Hello miss." He said, walking towards her.
"Hello mister" She said. "what's your name?"
"I'm Edaniel. What's your name miss?" Said Edaniel
"I'm Ditsy Doo." Said Ditzy
"Would you like to be friends?"Asked Edaniel
"Okay!" Said Ditzy
'My god, that was easy.'
Edaniel presented a happy face, the likes of which have rarely been seen, ever. She then noticed something odd. "Edaniel, you don't have a cutie-mark!" She Yelped in surprise.
"Oh, well I guess that I just have not found that special thing that I do best." Edaniel said with a smile.
'How...exactly.... did I not notice that?'
" How do you not have one? Everypony has one." She Said, obviously quiet confused.
"I guess it just means that I'll find one soon." Edaniel said in a sincere voice.
"Okay." Said Ditsy, still perplexed.
"Well, it's been great talking to you Ditsy, but I've got to be going." Edaniel said with that sincere smile. "Alright, bye Edaniel!" She said with a smile.
He began thinking and noticed that he would need a job. He set out for the cafe. After a lot of searching, he eventually found it. It looked the same as it did in "The ticket master". As luck would have it, there was a 'job wanted' sign in the window. 'Just like every fanfiction....ever' He thought as he walked in. The inside of the cafe was full of many potted plants and some ivy that hung from the wall into a dirt area alongside it. The inside color was yellow, or beige. A few ponies were sitting at tables, talking. There were two waiters, taking orders.
Edaniel began walking until he reached a small podium, at which a gray pony with a "spoon and fork" cutie mark and a black comb-over sat. He spoke.
"Please, excuse me sir, but may I try out for the job opening?" Said Edaniel in his fanciest voice.
"Of course, have you done this before?" Said the Gray pony.
"No, I'm afraid I haven't." Said Edaniel.
"Okay. Do you have any talents that would be an asset?" Said the gray pony.
"I don't know, to be honest." Edaniel said, slipping out of his fancy voice.
"May I do a sort of practice-run?"
"I suppose, it couldn't hurt." The gray pony said nicely.
"Thank you sir, and my name is Edaniel, by the way. It is very nice to meet you." Edaniel said while reaching out a hoof to emphasize the greeting.
"My name is Cater Way." It's good to meet you too, Edaniel." Said Cater Way.
"You can start by putting these on." Cater Way informed as he passed Edaniel a uniform.
'This uniform is gonna clash with my purse.....'He thought. "Thanks man." Said Edaniel.
Once dressed, Edaniel walked back towards the podium.
"Tight and uncomfortable?" Asked Cater Way.
"Eeyup." Edaniel said.
"That means it's working." Said Cater Way.
"So, which table should I wait?" Asked Edaniel.
"How about that one?" Said Cater Way, pointing to a table with two ponies.
"Aye, Aye, Cap'n." Saluted Edaniel.
Edaniel began walking towards the table.
"Hello, how may I help you?" Asked Edaniel.
"Hello, we'd like a Hay-Sandwich and an Ice-Cream-Sundae." They said at the same time.
"Did you two practice this?" Asked Edaniel, jokingly.
"No" They said, at the same time, blushing.
"You sure?" Joked Edaniel.
"Yes" They simultaneously said, again, while blushing.
"......" Poker-faced Edaniel.
"......." Poker-faced the couple.
"I'll get your order. Sorry to antagonize you." Edaniel apologized.
"No, it's fine" They both said..........at the same time........again.
"Okay, thanks for being forgiving. To the foods!!!" Exclaimed Edaniel.
He went back to the kitchen. "I need a Hay-Sandvich and an Ice-Cream-Sundae." Said Edaniel, to the chef.
"Gotcha." Said the chef.
'That hat looks like a bomb on his head.' Edaniel waited for his order by the counter.
~~TWO MINUTES LATER~~
"Here you go." Said the chef.
"Thanks, man." Said Edaniel. Edaniel merrily bounced his way back to the couple, balancing the plate on his head.
"'Ere you go." Said Edaniel in his best Leprechaun voice.
"Thank you." The couple said.
Edaniel made his way back to Cater Way with his plate on his back. 'Gotta figure out how I do this stuff later' Thought Edaniel.
"Well. That didn't go so great." Said Edaniel. Cater Way just smiled at him.
"What....Is there something on my face?" Asked Edaniel. He then patted his face as though it held the key to the universe...or a waffle vault.
"No, Edaniel. Your customers keep checking you out. They'll come over here." Said Cater Way.
" Hubbazaywhaaaaaa?" Edaniel said, before turning around. The couple from earlier was finishing their meal. The waiter and test-waiter awaited their arrival. (pun not intended)
"Hello there." Said the Mare.
"We never caught your name."
"I'm Edaniel, and you are?" Asked Edaniel.
"I'm Mrs. Cake. This is Mr. Cake." Said Mrs. Cake.
"It's a pleasure." Said Mr. Cake, extending his hoof, for a hand...hoof...whatever-shake. Edaniel gladly accepted it.
"It's great to meet you, Mrs. and Mr Cake." Said Edaniel.
"Likewise." Said Mrs. Cake.
"You should come by our sweets-shop. It's the house that looks like it's made of candy. Can't miss it." Mrs. Cake said with a smile.
"I'll be sure to come by, Mrs. Cake." Said Edaniel.'
"Great. See you then, Edaniel." They both said, in unison.
The Cakes walked out of the cafe. Cater Way gave him a happy look.
"What?" Asked Edaniel.
"That was great!" Exclaimed Cater Way.
"How so?" Asked Edaniel.
"You got them to like you instantly! That will probably make them come by more." Said Cater Way.
"All I did was make some small-talk and get their food." Said Edaniel, surprised by his new friends change from; calm and collective, to Happiness Mode Activated, *BOOP*.
"So, I actually get the job?" Asked Edaniel, incredulously.
"Oh, no. I just gave you that praise for nothing." Said Cater Way, flooding the sentence with sarcasm.
"Oh, well that's too bad." Said Edaniel.
Cater's face was what.
"You alright?" Asked Edaniel.
"You got the job..." Cater Way deadpanned. "Really? Wooh- Oh! Tight clothes, tight clothes!" Exclaimed Edaniel, as he tried to stretch his hooves out in cheer.
~One change, and a few minutes later~
'Okay, so I got a job. What now?' 'I bet that there's a pink ninja watching me and waiting for the moment to party.
'Edaniel thought. He did a quick scan of the area.
'Looks clear.' reported Edaniel.
"Oh dang' it. It's dark." He stated.
' I guess, I should have seen this coming. I'll just head back to the pasture.....Heh-heh. Pasture. Ponies. Punny.' He Snickered in his mind. Edaniel walked/trotted to were he awoke that day.
'Okay, I'll stay away from the Everfree, unless manticores suddenly get an everlasting burst of friendliness.'
*Yawn*"Time for sleep" Edaniel said aloud. He settled himself in for a good night's rest.
'I don't know what happened, but I'll ask Celestia and Luna. Maybe they know.'
~One sleepifacation later~
Fluttershy awoke to angel bunny tapping his feet on her stomach. " Oh, good morning Angel. How did you sleep last night?" She asked her slightly annoyed pet. Angel just continued tapping his feet on the bed, signifying his inpatients. " Are you hungry?" Asked Fluttershy. Angel nodded his head, an irritated look on his face.
Fluttershy yawned, put a small smile on her face, and got out of bed. After fixing her sheets, she walked downstairs. She began feeding all of her little animals.......and bear. She walked outside and noticed a peculiar sight.
There was a large heap of something in the pasture next to her house. Granted, it was fairly far away. " Oh, my. Is that a pony?" Angel simply glanced at her and continued eating his ridiculously over-decorated salad.
Fluttershy flew towards the figure in the grass. 'It is a pony!' she sped her pace. She was now right next to the mysterious pony. He seemed fine. He was odd looking, to say the least. He had a black mane, Red coat, and White tufts of fur on his hooves. There was also dust and cobwebs littered around him. "Um, hello? Sir, are you alright?" Fluttershy asked, quite concerned for his well-being.
He made an odd gurgling noise, which scared her even more.
" Erugghagurblesmifts..... Morning." Edaniel gracefully awakens, somewhat like a beautiful swan, flying into the sunset. Yep, that's exactly how it went.
"So, you're sure that you're fine?" Asked Fluttershy, making sure.
"Yes. Now, what is your name?" Asked Edaniel, again.
"My name is Fluttershy" She mumbled, now returning to her usual state of shyness, after learning that he was alright.
"Nice to meecha' Fluttershy." Edaniel said, extending a hoof in greeting. She just bent her head towards the ground and glanced at his hoof every few seconds. After a few moments of this, she shook his hoof daintily. He obliged.
"Why were you sleeping on the ground?" She asked in a firm, yet shy voice.
"I just moved here from faaaaaaaaaaaar away and don't have a house yet" Edaniel stated happily. Fluttershy stared at him.
She stared some more.
"Did I break you?" Asked Edaniel.
"You don't live anywhere!?"
"..... Urhm..... No?" Edaniel said, scared completely everything-less by her sudden assertion-attack.
"But, but but but."......."You're staying with me." She stated.
"I'm fine here." Edaniel said happily.
"I will not let a poor homeless pony sleep out on the cold ground!" She stated, clearly punctuating her sentence with a stomp of her hooves.
"But... I like my ground" Edaniel fake-whimpered.
"No!" She repeated her claim.
"Can I keep rocky?" Edaniel asked while holding his new pet rock he had found while getting up.
"Yes, and we'll keep him nice and comfortable." She assured him.
"I dunno'. Rocky has some pretty high standards." Edaniel clarified.
"Like what?" She asked.
"He needs wide open space and a friend to play with." Edaniel stated his rocks needs.
"Done and done." She countered, with a smile.
"You've got yourself a deal." He replied while shaking her hoof again.
'I get to live with the aminals :D' Edaniel thought, as he followed her back to the cottage.
"Welcome to the cottage. I know it's not much, bu-" She was cut off by Edaniel.
"It's great. There are animals and food and animals and food and animals........and a couch." Said Edaniel, smiling at her.
"Okay." She meeped.
Some of the animals started converging on him. The first was a small squirrel.
"Well, hello there little friend. How goes it?" Edaniel said to the squirrel, not feeling silly in the slightest while talking to a cartoonified squirrel.
It looked at him....and looked at him.....and looked at him. It finally squeaked, AND THE SQUIRREL ARMADA ATTACKED WITH CHEEPS AND HUGS.
The squirrels all converged on him. They ALL converged on him. They hugged and sniffed and crawled.
"So. Much.Adorable!!!!!"Edaniel yelled.
Fluttershy just stood there quietly. She had never seen the squirrels, or any of the animals for that matter, so social with ponies. Let alone one that they had just met.
"You must really like animals." She said, her shyness evaporated due to the animals boldness.
"I love 'em!" Edaniel yelled over the noise caused by the massive squirrel-suit he was wearing.
Fluttershy thought that this was going to end well. She smiled. She had a feeling her new roommate was going to be fun.
---------------------------------- ......And so it begin......
Edaniel finally finished playing with the bunnies, after about two hours of non-stop fun, of course.
"What would you like for lunch?" Asked Fluttershy. She walked towards him, expecting an answer......That his stomach gave for him.
"Oh my. When is the last time you ate something?" She asked with deep concern. Which he earned with the unholy gurgling noise his stomach was making.
"Urhm.......... A day.... I think." He said after a few seconds thought. He realized that he had just told exactly the wrong pony exactly the wrong thing, at exactly the wrong time.
'Well..... Crap.'
"What?! You poor thing! Let me make you a full dinner!" She offered/stated.
"I'm fine. Really." He tried (And failed) to stop her.
'Freakin stomach. You couldn't have done that in my sleep, or yesterday?!!'
"No, no, no, no. I insist. Now you just sit down and wait for your food. I'll be done as fast as I can." She told him while trotting into the kitchen, in search of ingredients.
"She tends to over-react. Huh?" He asked Angel, who was currently doing an impressive Bugs Bunny impression with a carrot in his mouth. Angel simply nodded. Edaniel returned the gesture and looked for something else to do while waiting. He found a small turtle (moving at Internet Explorer league speeds) heading towards him. He slowly scooped the little guy...or girl up and set it down on his lap. The turtle snuggled itself into his legs and lay down. (For the record. Since Edaniel was recently turned into a pony. He still sits like a human.)
A few moments later, Fluttershy fluttered into the room clamping a bowl of vegetable stew in her hooves. She set aside half a second to glance at his peculiar seating style, but immediately refocused on the task at hoof. She pulled out a small table and set down his food.
"Here you go. Nice and steamy, but make sure you blow on it. It's very warm." She stated as she turned to him. He had been alerted of the foods delicious properties, simply by the god-like smell that came off of it.
"It looks delicious, Fluttershy. Aren't you going to have some?" He questioned her motives after she had not returned to the kitchen to make herself some.
"Oh, of course. I'll make myself some right now." She said, remembering that she needed to eat too. Edaniel dug into his stew. The only possible backfire to this stew, was that he burned his tongue several times. He still, obviously, continued eating, for this was the most amazing thing he had ever eaten in his life. He finished soon enough, and was perplexed to see that Fluttershy had not walked out of the kitchen with her food yet. He walked into the kitchen to see what was taking her, and saw that she had barely even started to make it.
'I suppose she doesn't need to hurry now that I'm full' Edaniel realized. He walked up behind her, making sure to alert her of his presence. He didn't want her to go Spiderpony on him and cling to the ceiling out of sheer terror simply because he had accidentally scared her.
"Hello. You're finished? Already?" She asked, wondering how he could have done it, because that stew was extremely hot.
"You want some help?" Edaniel asked. He walked towards her food-making station.
"Sure. Please give me that right there." She pointed to an ear of corn. He grabbed it with his hoof (Because, screw logic) and passed it to her.
"Thank you." She stated simply.
~One Stew Later~
"Thanks for the help, Edaniel." She said.
"No problemo." He promised.
"I think that I'll go explore the town." Edaniel suddenly stated.
"Okay, just be sure to be back before dark." She warned him.
"Yes ma'am!" Edaniel said with a salute.
"Later, Fluttershy." Edaniel sent the words over his shoulder with a turn of his head while walking out.
"Bye." She said with a small smile.
'I like this place. I should make some new friends, and meet the rest of the Elements while I'm at it. I should head to work first, though.' Edaniel concluded his route through town in his head, while his legs carried him into town.
He arrived at the Cafe within a few minutes. He walked in to see Cater Way at his usual station.
"Hey Cater Way." Edaniel said with a wave of his hoof. Cater Way waved back at him and waited for him to get to the podium.
"Hey Edaniel. How is it going?" Cater way asked his new friend.
"Pretty good. I just moved in with a friend." Edaniel half-informed his friend of his new accommodations.
"Well, that's great. Where do you live now?" Cater Way prompt him.
"I live in the cottage outside of Ponyville." Edaniel informed him.
"Really? With Fluttershy?" Cater asked disbelievingly.
"Eeyup."
"Okay. Today you can have the day off, Edaniel. Because you just moved, and all." He informed Edaniel.
"Really? Thanks Cater." Edaniel said in gratitude.
"It's no problem. It's not right to just keep you at work when you just moved into a completely different place." Cater promised.
'You have no idea.'
"Thanks. IIIIIII guess I'll head to the library to check out some books." Edaniel decided.
"That sounds fine. You go enjoy your day off." Cater told Edaniel.
"Okay, bye!" Edaniel said while walking out.
"Bye."
Edaniel headed for the library first. Out of the corner of his eye, Edaniel noticed Ditsy, eating a muffin at a table by herself. 'So, the stories are true.' He trotted towards her. She gradually became aware of somepony coming nearer. She turned to see her new friend closing their distance.
"Hey Edaniel!" She said happily.
"Hey Ditsy. I see you like Blueberry." Edaniel said, noticing that her muffin was the flavor of delicious.
"Yep. How's it going?" She happily answered and asked him.
"Great. You?" He asked.
"I'm doing great!" She happily answered, once again.
They sat down and talked for a while. They discussed each others day, and his new housing. After about an hour, they decided to part way.
"Bye Ditsy." Edaniel sent her off.
"Bye Edaniel." She answered, in her usual happy demeanor.
The two parted ways as Ditsy headed home, and Edaniel to the library. He arrived and knocked; expecting Spike, the baby dragon, to answer. He was surprised to see Twilight answer the door.
"Hello there. How may I help you." She greeted him with a smile.
"Hello miss. I am Edaniel, and I'm here to pick out a book or two." Edaniel explained.
"Oh. In that case. Come on in. I'm Twilight Sparkle, by the way. I am Ponyville's resident librarian" She said with a new smile.
"Thanks. It is nice to meet you, Twilight Sparkle." He told her.
"It is very nice to meet you too, Edaniel." She replied
"What kind of book would you like?" She asked him as they reached the shelves.
"I would like the first Daring Do book and some Equestrian history books. I would also like you to recommend a book for me." He rattled off his choices.
"Okay, I'll get you just that." She said as she grabbed the books for him.
The first was a book called "Equestrian history and famous ponies". Another was "Daring Do And The Quest For The Sapphire Stone". The next was the most famous My Little Pony Book ever created. It was a simple Brown book with small twisting patterns, that seemed to have half a Fleur De Lis on each tip, at its four edges. It's cover picture was a Golden Alicorn head. This book was famous for being the absolute first thing seen on the first episode.
"This one is called Equestria's most famous fables and tall tales." Twilight informed him.
"Alright, thanks Twilight." He said while looking at the cover of the fabled book.
"Do you want to check them out now, or do you want to read them for a while?" She asked.
"I think that I'll stay here for a while and read. Thank you." He answered.
Edaniel sat down in one of the chairs that are an abundance in the library. He started off reading 'Daring Do And The Quest For The Sapphire Stone'.
Twenty Minutes Later
'Well, that was a nice book.' Edaniel thought on his way out of the library. He had read the first thirteen chapters of Daring Do, and decided to explore Ponyville some more.
He began by walking to Sugarcube Corner, to see the cakes and/or Pinkie Pie. It took a little backtracking, failing, direction taking, and just getting lost, until he found the sweets shop. A few ponies were going about their business around the shop, some talking, some buying goods, some just walking. One of them turned towards him as he walked by, and said "Hi there. Are you new in town?"
"Yes. I am." Edaniel answered.
"It's nice to meet you. My name is The Doctor, but most ponies just call me Clockwork." Doctor greeted Edaniel.
"TARDIS." Edaniel simply stated.
The Doctor's eyes went wide and his mouth went agape. His lips were moving, but no sound was coming out.
"I'll tell you later." Edaniel promised.
The Doctor simply nodded his head.
Edaniel began his walk to the shop once more. He noticed that there were a few ponies in the shop already.
'Guess I'll be waiting in line for a while.'
Edaniel didn't have to wait for very long. The shop was very efficient, so many ponies received their orders quickly. Edaniel kept himself occupied by thinking about what had happened to get him here.
'I wonder what Project Portal Through means. I wonder what the guys are doing since my disappearance. I wonder if they were blamed....OH GOD. WHAT IF THEY WERE?!?!?' Edaniel made a split second decision. He ran out of the shop and galloped to Fluttershy's cottage as fast as he could. He reached her cottage and quickly ran for an area by the door, where he kept his money, and grabbed all of it in his mouth, and thought about what he was doing for a moment.
He decided that what he was doing was rash and wouldn't work out in the end, so he headed back to Sugarcube Corner.
The crowd in the small bakery had thinned considerably, meaning that he was the only one there.
"Well, hello there deary!" Mrs. Cake chirped from behind the counter.
"I saw you hurry out of here earlier. What was that all about?" She asked
"It was nothing. I just forgot something before I came to visit." He replied.
"Okay then. How is your day?" She asked with her usual cheeriness.
"It's grea-" He was cut off suddenly by a blur of pinkness that tackled him, and sat atop him. She chattered at a speed the was incomprehensible to most. Edaniel had used this speed of words several times in his life and could understand it just fine.
"Hithere.Myname'sPinkiePie.What'syourname?You'renewintown,soI'mgoingtothrowyouasuperduperhugeamazingtasticalpartyofwelcomeness.Thatsoundgood?" She blasted off her welcome.
"Ahem" "MynamesEdaniel.It'sreallynicetomeetyou.Howhasyourdaybeen?Thatsaoundsgreat.I'dloveaparty.Youcomfortableupthere?" He said, matching her speed.
She didn't miss a beat. "My day's been great. I can't wait to throw you a party. It's been a really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really"(135,489,657,125,357 people were so lazy that they didn't read all those really's, or that number :D) "long time since somepony could talk as fast as me. It's super duper uper luper comfortable up here. What kinda shampoo do you use on your coat?" She said.
"I love talking like that, but some ponies can't understand it, so I don't usually talk like that. Thanks, I don't remember what kind I use." Edaniel said as she got up off of him.
The two untangled themselves from each other, and looked at the Cakes, who for the record, didn't pass out.They were pretty close though......Wait, there goes Mrs. Cake.....And Mr. Cake.
"Awe. I wonder what happened." They said simultaneously.
"I should get going now. It's getting dark. By the way, I'm staying with Fluttershy." Edaniel told Pinkie.
"Really? Are you two related?" She asked with her best 'what?' face on.
"Yep. Nope. She's giving me a place to stay while I don't have enough money to buy a house."
"Hello there Pinkie. Hello Edaniel. I was just coming here to tell you that Edaniel was here." Fluttershy said as she walked in.
"Oh, hi Fluttershy!" Pinkie yelled.
"Well, now that you know, I'll head home. Be home soon Edaniel." She said quietly as she walked backward to the door.
"I was planning on coming anyway. I'll walk you home." He said with a smile.
"Okay. BYE EDANIEL. BYE FLUTTERSHY!" Pinkie yelled as she turn around to tend to the unconscious Cakes.
The two waved goodbye to her. They began their walk home. About halfway there, they spoke.
"So, how was your day?" She asked him.
"Pretty good. How was yours?" He replied.
"It was great. The animals really like you. You know."
"Great. I kinda just feel like going to sleep right now though."
"Okay. I'll make sure that you're nice and comfortable."
"Thank you, Fluttershy. For letting me stay here, for letting me be your friend, and for helping me out in general."
"It's nothing, Edaniel" She turned to him and replied sincerely.
"Thank you for being my friend, and for being friends with the animals." She said as she smiled and looked him in the eyes.
"No problem, Flutters." He said as he put his foreleg around her.
"Eap" She yelped, from either the sudden gesture or use of nickname.
After a few minutes, she was smiling a little more and they were walking peacefully down the path to the cottage. It was peaceful, and he was happy that she seemed happy.
"Thanks Edaniel." She said as they walked inside.
"It's no problem. I think that I'll go to bed now, ShyShy." He said with a weary smile, as he lay down on the couch.
"I thought it was Flutters." She said in confusion, with a small blush.
"I can't choose, so I'll just use both." He said as his breathing began to drift into an even pattern, and his eyelids fluttered a few times, before finally laying against each other for rest.
Fluttershy walked up the stairs after telling Angel and Edaniel goodnight. Edaniel muttered something incomprehensible, and Angel just shooed her away. She lay down in bed and went over today's events in her mind. After reliving the moments of her day, she let her mind whisk her away into the dreamy wonderland of the night. She slowly closed her eyes, and let her body relax. Her mind left it's usual state, and drifted into sleep.
Somewhere, an immeasurable distance away, a group of boys went to sleep, wondering where their best friend could've gone. The last to go to sleep was Joey. 'Where are you Edaniel? What happened? Are you okay?' He asked his mind. A whisper echoed throughout his room. It said "Do you want to know? Do you want to see him?".
"Yes. I do. Where is he? Can you take me to him?" Joey didn't care if the voice was in his head, or if he was going crazy. He listened to it, because the voice was Edaniel's.
Honestly, I chose that video because......well C'MON! Take your pick.These are for just the first part.

Joey awoke and was greeted by the sensation of grass on his back, and the smell of the outdoors lingering in his nostrils. He slowly opened his eyes. He just lay there for a while, and take in what he sees. He noticed a bright blue sky, up above. The area seemed to be void of any buildings. There was no noise, or no man-made noise. There were chirping birds and tons of other animals, but no people.
He closed his eyes, and went back to sleep.
Back At The Cottage
Edaniel opened his eyes to the darkness around him. He checked the clock on the wall to his left, which read 3:17. He walked outside, to enjoy the morning dew. That was always his second favorite part of waking up early. The best was watching the sun rise. Edaniel went sleep at about ten P.M., so he woke up at about three A.M., due to his odd sleeping patterns.
He walked around Ponyville, looking at the town. He admired gardens, smiled when the early morning breezes hit him, and enjoying his morning. He had walked around Ponyville and was heading for the clearing where he woke up two days ago. He noticed a pony in the exact same spot he was in when he woke up.
He trotted up to the pony, and immediately knew who it was.
The pony was Tan. It had a Black mane and tail. It was a unicorn. It seemed to be about Edaniels age. It had no cutie mark.
A few minutes later
Joey awoke with a groan. He knew this was his second time waking up that day, but something felt different. He was more comfortable, and was warmer than before. He looked around, and noticed that he was in a room, on a bed. He felt a difference in his body, too. He was a completely different being.
He was.....He was..... Those things that Edaniel likes.....The..The..Ponies!. He was a pony. How he became one, he did not know. He could tell that he wasn't dreaming. He was incredibly sore from sleeping outside, the first time. He was a light Tan color. He had pitch Black hair. He was a Unicorn. 'Well, that's an upside.' He thought as he got up. He could somehow walk easily, as though he had always done it.
Another pony walked into the room, balancing some food on his head.
"Hey Joey. It's me." The pony said in Edaniel's voice.
Joey's mouth went limp.
"Here. You should eat something." Edaniel said as he placed Joey's food on a small foldable table.
"How?" was all Joey got out.
"Eat this soup, and I'll explain." Edaniel said, pushing he soup towards his friend.
"Okay. I'll play your sick, sick, soup torture game, but you have to tell me what happened first." Joey told him.
"Deal" Edaniel replied.
Edaniel began telling him the story of what had happened so far. Joey replied in between mouthfuls of soup, but soon buried himself back into it's deliciousness.
"So we're ponies, and we're stuck here?" Joey asked as he finished off his bowl.
"Eeyup." Edaniel replied
"Seems legitimate." Joey said with a smile.
"Okay. Ready to meet the pony feeding you noms?" Edaniel asked his old friend.
"Hel-" He was interrupted by Edaniel saying " No cursing, no being mean to others, and no *cough cough* meat food *cough cough cough*"
"Oh my. Edaniel, are you sick?" Fluttershy asked worriedly.
"I'm fine Shy." Edaniel said, and was replied with an 'Eep' that was much smaller than last time's.
"Hello, there. Thank you for the food, Ms. Shy." Joey said, and was replied with a gigantic 'MEEEEEP' that was followed by Fluttershy hiding behind her mane.
"What did I do wrong?!" Joey yelped as she hid a blush the color of Pinkie Pie.
"Nothing. Shy is just my nickname for her." Edaniel said with a motherly smile. (Yep, he's a momma!)
"Wait.......So...You two.........Are dating?" Joey asked with his best 'lolwut' face on.
"Eeeek!" Fluttershy yelped ,before hiding behind Edaniel. She then realized what it looked like, and ran out of the room.
"Oh, Fluttershy, you silly waffle." Edaniel said with a seemingly oblivious smile. "No, we're not."
"Oh. Good." "What's that mean?" Edaniel asked, a little angry
"Well. She is a pony." Joey stated, as though it were obvious.
"I am too."
"No. You're not."
"I am. Look!" Edaniel stated, pointing at his hoof.
"Fine. Fine" Joey submitted with a smile. He knew that Edaniel was too stubborn to give into anything.
"Alright, let's show you around the house, my friend." Edaniel said, leading the way out of the room.
"Here's the living room." Edaniel said, as he led Joey into a room with a small couch, several bird houses of varying shapes and sizes, and a few aminals scurrying around.
"And, here's the kitchen." Edaniel pointed out, as he led his friend into a small area with a table, and a few pots and pans.
"Here's Fluttershy's room." Edaniel said, outside the door of her accommodations.
"Fluttershy? Hellooooooohooooooooooo?" Edaniel asked in a high pitched voice.
"Um. Hi." She said, peeking out of a crack in her door. She seemed a lot brighter than usual, as in her face.
"Sorry about that. He didn't know. You alright?" He said as he looked at Fluttershy tenderly.
"Sorry." Joey echoed from behind Edaniel.
"It's okay. Sorry for running off." She said in her usual quiet manner.
"Don't apologize. It was my fault." Edaniel cooed her.
"Wait, what?" Joey asked in confusion.
"Well, you see. I didn't tell you the moment you woke up, therefore it is my fault." Edaniel said using his spazztastically messed up knowledge of facts.
Joey and Fluttershy just looked at him.
Somepony farted downstairs. IT WAS THAT QUIET!!
"Urm......I thought we were the only ones here." Joey said with skepticism.
"We are the only ponies here. There are tons of farting animals.....The squirrels are planning their attack." Edaniel deadpanned.
"What?" The two other ponies asked in complete and utter confusion.
"Edaniel. In all the years that I have known you. You never get less random. You just get weirder." Joey said with a snort of laughter.
"You two know each other?" Fluttershy asked, not understanding.
"Yep. It's a long story, that I will tell you one day. For now, where will he be living?" Edaniel half explained.
"He can stay here. If you want." She whispered to Edaniel and Joey.
"Thank you, Fluttershy. I'ma make it up to you. I know! Let's all go for a picnic!" Edaniel exclaimed.
"Okay." The other two said.
Edaniel and Joey made the picnic food. They thought that Fluttershy had done enough. They each split up half the work. Between them, they got it done in less than twenty minutes. The turtle from earlier bumped into Edaniel. He picked the little guy up. "Hey, little buddy. How's it hangin'?" He asked the adorable turtle. It nuzzled him.
"Joey. I made a fwiend!!!!" Edaniel turned to Joey and mustered the most adorable face he could.
"Oh. My. God. That's adorableness amplified, dumped in a cuteness machine, and put in a little business man suit!" Joey said with glazed eyes as he looked at the turtle.
The turtle licked him. Joey's mouth made the biggest smile ever smiled. Edaniel looked at the turtle and said "What's your name?"
The turtle chirped. 'Summer Phazer' 'Wait WHAT!?!?!?!?!?! I just understood A TURTLE.' Edaniel let his face flicker for a moment to one of surprise. He quickly set it back to the setting labeled 'Adorableness absorbance'. "Fluttershy. What does it mean if I can understand turtles?" Edaniel asked through his seemingly permanent smile.
"You can what!?!?" both of the ponies yelled.
"This turtle just said that his name is Summer Phazer. I AM THE TURTLE GOD!" Edaniel said, raising the turtle above his head. He could imagine the music from The Lion King playing in the background.
"Well. I guess....I don't know. Edaniel, can you understand other animals?" Fluttershy asked.
"I don't know." Edaniel said as he set Phazer on his back, and headed towards the bird nests.
He noticed a few bluejays, a robin, and two blackbirds. He chose the robin.
"Hello, Robin" 'I have a mission for you, the joker is on the loose again' " What is your name?" He asked in his regular voice, in contradiction to the batman voice that he just used in his head.
The Robin tweeted. 'Birdsong'.
"Yep, I can talk to animals. This Robin's name is Birdsong." Edaniel reported with a salute. Phazer gave a second salute, amplifying the adorableness.
Everything seemed to stop, and D'awwww at Phazer. The moment ended.
"Okay, Joey. Should probably see the Princess right about now." Edaniel said, dropping his usual happy tone.
"Wh-why do you need to see the princess?" asked Fluttershy
"Princess?!" Joey asked.
"Well. Fluttershy. here's the quickest version. Me and Joey were teleported here from somewhere far away. We've never been here before, so we don't know how far away. We need to see if the Princesses know about this." Edaniel explained their predicament vaguely to her.
"Okay, we'll get spike to send a letter." She said with meaning in her voice.
"Let's go." They all said. Even Phazer meeped in along with them. (#Adorable)
At The Library, Ten Minutes Later
*knock* *knock*. The knocks echoed throughout the quiet town, during it's morning hours. It would usually be bustling with many ponies, at work, trading, or just enjoying their day. None of this happens in the early morning, except for Sweet Apple Acres. The ponies were wide awake at this time, there.They were hard at work.
Twilight got up from her early morning studies to answer the door. 'Who could that be?' She thought. Twilight opened the door, and was greeted by Fluttershy, Edaniel, and a new pony.
"Twilight. I need to send a letter to the princess." Edaniel was the first to speak.
"Why?" She asked, curious as to why he would be here this early for something like this.
"I need to ask her if she knows anything about Project Portal Through, or if she's felt any disturbances." Edaniel finished.
"What?" She asked.
"I don't know exactly what the first one is, but any types of major disturbances will do."
"I don't think so." Twilight deadpanned.
"Please? Twilight?" Fluttershy asked, activating her cute.
"Okay. Only because you trust him, Fluttershy."
"Thanks, Twilight." Edaniel thanked her.
"No problem, Edaniel." She replied.
Twilight was suspicious, but she wasn't going to let her friends down. She trusted Fluttershy, if she trusted them, she would too.
Twilight began writing a letter to Celestia or Luna. In the past two days, Edaniel has learned that they were in about the third episode. Luna had been freed and there were now two royal sisters again. She finished the letter and went upstairs to get spike.
Edaniel heard the smoke leave his mouth from downstairs. Twilight walked back downstairs.
"Okay. I'll tell you when she se-" She was interrupted by a rather loud belch, coming from her room.
"Wow. That was quick." She stated as Spike marched downstairs. He didn't look groggy in the least. He must have been awake for quite some time now.
"Here you go Twilight." He said as he passed her the scroll.
The scroll was enveloped in her magic, and her eyes seemed to grow slightly wider. She finished the scroll and gave it to Edaniel. He grabbed it and read.
Dear Twilight, and company
It has come to my attention that two magical disturbances have erupted in the Everfree Forest. These are the disturbances that your friend is talking about. I am afraid to say that I have not heard of Project Portal Through. I would like for you and your friends, new and old, to come to Canterlot. I am sending you a royal chariot, to bring you straight here. It will arrive there in about half an hour.
Princess Celestia.
Edaniel finished reading the scroll aloud, and turned to his friends.
"Okay, let's get ready." Edaniel stated, back to his happy demeanor.
The trio headed back to Fluttershy's house to pick up anything that they needed. Phazer had burrowed into Edaniel's mane, and was now sleeping peacefully. Birdsong flew up to Edaniel, to also lay on his back. He and Phazer lay together in Edaniel's mane, resting peacefully.
"What do you think we need, Fluttershy?" asked Joey.
"I don't think we need anything, except to talk. What are the things you asked Princess Celestia about!" Fluttershy asked with concern.
"I don't even know what 'Project Portal Through', is. We were transported here. By what? We don't know. I told you pretty much everything." Edaniel replied.
"Pretty much?" Fluttershy asked, still suspicious.
"We don't know if we're from this planet, either." Edaniel finished.
Fluttershy's mouth went limp. Her mind, a cacophony of thoughts, trying to comprehend what he just said. Her eyes widened. She stayed like this for a while. She finally got words to form in her brain, and travel into her mouth.
"Re-really?" Fluttershy asked, not knowing if she should be scared or confused. She found a good balance.
"Yes" Edaniel stated simply.
Joey stood quietly during the ordeal. He was surprised by Edaniel's comment also, but not as much as Fluttershy.
"Ah-are you hereg to hurt anypony?" She asked, regaining her state of mind.
"No. I don't see why we would." He replied, slightly shocked by her comment.
"Okay. I believe you." Fluttershy said with renewed courage, and trust in her new friend.
"Okay, are these two coming?" Edaniel said, pointing to the two new friends on his back.
"I don't know if they should..." Fluttershy said, shyly.
The two responded by nestling themselves deeper in his mane. This gave an obvious reply. They all looked at them, except for Edaniel, who could only feel them. Joey laughed.
"It might take a while to get a hairdo goin' now, Edan!" Joey said in between laughs.
"Har-de-har-har." Edaniel deadpanned.
"Okay, let's get ready. I need to make sure all the animals will be Okay while I'm gone." Fluttershy broke them off.
20 Minutes Later
The royal chariot arrived with two pegasus guards leading it. The chariot was roughly two thirds the size of a carriage. It was open, and had seats. The walls of the chariot were a pristine gold, and a majestic Dark Blue. It had several intricate patterns, lacing the outer edge of its body. It also had two beautifully made alicorns on each side, facing the guards.
The small group stepped into the chariot, and each took a seat on the ledges connected to the walls. The pegasi leading the chariot asked if they were ready, and received a few yes's. The chariot began crawling across the ground, and slowly climbed into the air.
The ponies simply sat down and enjoyed the view on their aeronautical cruise, the view being most of Equestria. As they overlooked the forests, towns, and fields, they thought about their soon-to-be visit to the castle of Canterlot.
'I wonder what She wants us there for, exactly.' Edaniel thought to himself.
'If that wasn't Edaniels voice, who's was it?' Joey pondered.
'I hope Edaniel and his friend aren't in trouble.' Fluttershy thought.
They were still in the air, when each of them gradually began to notice some other chariots, meeting theirs. Pinkie was in a chariot with RainbowDash. AppleJack was in a chariot with Rarity. Twilight was in a chariot with spike. All the chariots were the same size, shape, and design.
Pinkie and the others waved, the ponies of Edaniel's chariot waved back. For the duration of the ride, Edaniel and Joey were deep in thought.
'If I was tricked, the others could be too. Maybe it was Edaniel. Maybe he wanted some company, but how would he do it? No, no. It was someone else, someone who copied his voice. Who?' Joey asked himself, desperately grasping at the most relevant thoughts he could think.
'I need to ask Joey how he came here. I need to figure out why the others aren't here. I need to find a way home. I need to.... So many things. I think I'll start by seeing if Celestia could forge a link between my mind and Someone from my world's mind. I need to, at least, get Joey home. Who would have done this, and why would they hide it?' Edaniel's concentration was deep in his mind. His thoughts flicking through memories, stories, and even scientific formulas, to figure out how and who did this.
Fluttershy was characteristically quiet. Her mind not wondering into the intense areas that her partners were. She simply thought about what would happen at the castle, and if Angel Bunny was okay.
17 Minutes Later
Edaniel and Joey were each done with their respectful thoughts, and were now bored. Edaniel began poking Fluttershy, getting reactions ranging from 'Eeps', to counter-pokes. Joey simply watched, and after a while, lay down and rest his eyes.
As Joey rested, Edaniel finished poking Fluttershy. He began playing with is amphibious friend. Phazer stirred, but did not react past that. Birdsong was equally un-wakeable. Edaniel did not ponder this, for he noticed the outline of the castle, in the distance.
The castle was beautiful. It was hanging off the side of a cliff; so it was, arguably, impossible not to be seen as beautiful.
Edaniel woke Joey, to be jolted as they lost altitude. Fluttershy visibly flinched in terror, so Edaniel hugged her. She did not protest, in fact, she cuddled into his coat and tried to block out the turbulence. Joey was now wide awake, and he too, cuddled into the two. They didn't mind. As far as Fluttershy was concerned, the more cushion, the softer the impact.
Even with their scaredness, the chariot landed smoothly and easily. They simply stopped hugging and stepped out of the chariot. They were soon met by the others climbing out of their respective chariots. All of the ponies soon stretched out their stiff muscled and popped bones.
Once they were all finished, they began walking towards the castle, only to be met by Celestia. Edaniel promptly knocked over both of them.
"Ohmygosh, sorry! I'm so sorry!" Edaniel apologized as he already helped her up.
"It is fine. Luna does it all the time." Celestia said with a smirk.
"Hey!" Luna protested.
"I'm just kidding Luna." Celestia apologized.
"But really, she does." Celestia then whispered in Edaniel's ear.
"What? What did she say?!" Luna asked him.
"She said that she likes waffles and bananas." Edaniel said as though it were common knowledge.
Everypony, even the guards, looked at him as though he just said that he were Celestia. The guards each smirked, holding in laughter. Celestia had no such quarrel, for she laughed her everything off.
"Twilight Sparkle, it is good to see you, my little pony." Celestia said, still shaking off some laughter.
"It's good to see you too, Princess." Twilight said as she nuzzled her mentor.
"Come, my little ponies. Let's go into the castle. I would like to hear about your lives since the last visit." Celestia said, beginning to lead the way with Luna by her side, and a guard trailing behind.
They reached the throne room within a few minutes. Once there, the girls took turns speaking with the princesses, PinkiePie taking a longer time than the rest. Celestia finally made it to Edaniel and Joey.
"What would you like me to do?" She asked Edaniel.
"I don't know how you know that I want something, but can you set up telepathic links?" Edaniel asked, his face matching his seriousness tenfold.
"Yes, just think of the pony you want to speak to in your mind, and I can send a link to them." She said without question.
"Can we do one now?" Edaniel asked, anxious to speak to his friends.
Edaniel began thinking of each of his friends, at once. She focused her magic to send a telepathic link to his thoughts, and stretch it to wherever he was thinking. It was harder than she had expected. The link-stretch was incredible. It stretched for several light-years, and then she lost track of where it went, as though it traveled by itself now. she could still feel it, asking her for more power, so she obliged.
This lasted for several minutes, physically and mentally taxing on both participates. It was finally over when each heaved a great sigh and fell to the ground, breathing heavily. They were both exhausted in mind and body.
"Oh my."
"The both of yah' okay?"
"Woah."
"Wowie-zowie!"
"Oh dear."
"Woah"
"Sister, art thou alright?"
"Dang, man"
"Are you okay? Do either of you need me to get someone?" was the chorus of reactions from the nine standing-ponies in the room.
The two grounded ponies calmed them and said that they were fine.
'Hello?' Edaniel tried out his new ability, first on Tom.
'Ahg! Edaniel? Where are you?' Tom yelled in his mind.
'It's a long story, but I need you to go back with the others, to Project Portal Through. Joey is here with me. Search for any papers, letters, or anything that would remotely tell you who made that portal. I am not on Earth anymore Tom.' Edaniel quickly told his friend.
'Are you crazy!? Why would I go back there?' He asked his seemingly insane friend.
'Because it might get Joey and me back.' Edaniel responded.
'.....Fine. I'll do it for you two. How will I convince them?' Tom asked, in his mind.
'I'll do that.' Edaniel simply replied.
'Okay. I'll get them now.' Tom finished.
'Okay, tell me when you get there.' Edaniel stopped their conversation.
"Celestia. Can you do the same for Joey?" Edaniel asked hopefully.
"I will need to recuperate for at least a few hours first, but yes, I can." She responded.
"Okay. Thank you princess." He said, wholeheartedly.
"It is no problem. For now, we should rest. I will be able to repeat the spell soon." She stated.
"Alright. Let's rest." Edaniel said, as his two little friends burst out of his mane. The girls played with the two, small animals as Edaniel and Celestia rested.
Tom
'Okay, I need to do this for Edaniel.' Tom thought.
He was still in school, so he couldn't do very much about the situation at the moment. Tom went through his usual classes, with his usual quietness. This time, though, his quietness was due to the fact that he was deep in thought. He finished school in two hours, and was on his way home.
He gathered many supplies. He grabbed paper, a feather duster, tape, an immeasurable number of pencils, a backpack, and a new change of clothes. He informed his mother that he was heading out, to play with his friends. She was happy for him, because he was getting over the loss of Edaniel. He waved her goodbye, and was on his way.
He headed towards each of his individual friends houses. First up was Kyle.
