> Boomer and Sooner > by Willow Arqueiro > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Touch down, Twilight Sparkle > --------------------------------------------------------------------------       "And here comes Boomer Sooner and, THE SCHOONER!" the sports announcer blared over the massive speakers surrounding the stadium.        Two pure white stallions leapt from the tunnel, hauling a white, canvas covered, wagon on a red chassis. A sea of crimson and cream roared in approval as a couple, man and woman in matching crimson, spurred the horses onward to challenge the opposing team. Their blonde manes flowing behind them, elegant leather halters, yokes, chest strap, and a mess of more straps adored the pair. Blinders kept up the the posh appearance, a highly polished and furnished length of wood ran between the to connect them to the schooner as they raced across the field.        The virtual ocean of orange booed and hollered as the schooner raced past that team's side, they began yelling to have Bevo come out to return the challenge with his bullish bellow.        The man driving the stallions began smiling as he led them to gallop down the center of the field.  From under the the far off score board a dark figure stood, and grinned evilly at the joyful scene before him.  "Hmm, a pity these fools skipped their daily does of chaos!" The deep shadow waved a talon limb and chaos reigned below.        Boomer and Sooner shrieked a high whiney and screeched to a halt, desperately trying to stop. A massive, technicolor tree shot out of the ground before them. It rushed upwards, blurring brown bark together. Thin branches with small tufts of green whipped the stallions as they jinked to the side of the now towering behemoth. It rose onwards, reaching a peak height of nearly 300 hundred feet. The top was tufted with pine needles in a conical point. The female driver continued her ear splitting screech that she'd been sounding endlessly. Her male counter part desperately tried to spur the horses on but to no avail. The stallions locked up in pure fear and tried to fight each other on which direction to go, jockeying around and getting nowhere. Another monstrous tree erupted underneath the covered wagon. The Schooner was launched, using the hook up between the horses and the wagon as a pivot point. It flipped over the horse and then the equines were dragged by it. Flying backwards, then flipped upside down and slammed into the ground with the schooner. Sooner's right foreleg snapped in contact with the unforgiving ground.        The male driver quickly covered from the shock. Dirt soils their pristine white pelts and small bits of organic debris from the trees are stuck in their manes and tails. The driver struggled with the bent and mutated metal wood that pinned the stallions down.        All the crowds attention was focused on the wreck and no one noticed the small purple flash that spawned above the announcers box.        A lavender unicorn dropped the small distance down to the roof of the box and surveyed the scene.        "Oh, no," whispered the unicorn as the trees triggered her vast memory.        The female driver picked herself up slowly and slowly drew her gaze up the two towering trees. Even as she watched, the bark began to roil and bulge out in nearly six sections on both trees. Her heart leapt into her throat as the highest bulge stopped randomly shifting and settled into a sinister form.        A canine snout broke away from the trunk and four fearsome paws and legs shot out. The snout pointed at the other tree and howled, a long, fear inspiring howl. Similar shapes of all sizes broke out of both trees in the shifting sections. The first form dropped the long distance to the ground and howled again. The girl now screamed, and scream she did. Her piercing wail brought ever eye in the football stadium to the wooden wolf stalking forward towards the flipped wagon. The man looks over his shoulder from his work on the warped metal.        His face drains of all blood and fearful adrenaline empowers his muscles and he wrenches out the twisted metal hitching the stallions to the schooner. The equine pair lurch off, still hitched to each other and with Boomer helping the injured Sooner as they sprinted away. Sooner soon begins slowing down as he was only limping along on three legs. Boomer and Sooner screech to another halt as another Timberwolf drops in front of them. They wheel around, favoring Sooner's uninjured side.        The other Timberwolves spread out and began terrorizing the general populace. Half leaped into the crow da and snapped at bystanders who tried to flee in terror. The other half began chasing the players around the field which appeared to be great fun... for the Wolves.        The male driver allows himself a small smile as the stallions gallop away but a horrid stench gags him and saliva drips onto his upper torso. He slowly turns around and comes face to snout with the Timberwolf Alpha. It raises a heavy wooden paw and smacks the man in the chest, sending him flying nearly ten feet.        Bones crack as he hit the ground, he slowly and painfully rolled himself onto his back.        The lead Wolf emphasized his slow walk to the downed man. It snarled at the crimson clad Sooner fan and raised a clawed paw to finish him. The Wolf creaked and then howled as it brought his paw down.         Galloping furiously from the Wolf's blind zone, Boomer and Sooner slam into it, cracking the wooden animal. Unfortunately, the Wolf continued his clawed swipe and it connected with Sooner's chest, right side and slicing pelt and muscle all the way to his shoulder. The Wolf snarls viciously from it's place on the ground, paw trying to hold the cracked wood together.        Boomer and Sooner glance around fearfully as the other Timberwolves begin to surround them. They whiney tearfully as the leader makes his way to them. The rest of the Wolves crouch and prepare to pounce at their Alpha's signal. The leader raised his paw high and glanced around at the eager wolves' postures. The wolf seemed to smirk to himself, but that couldn't have been possible. But then, wolves made out of wood shouldn't have been either.        It dropped it's paw and ten wolves simultaneously pounced, claws extended, mouths agape, and instincts screaming for the kill.        But Boomer and Sooner vanished in a purple flash, causing the half score of wolves to crash into each other with sprays of splinters flew, wood cracked, and wolves simply snapped in half as they collided.  From far off, underneath the scoreboard, the shadowed figure frowned with disdain, "Alright Twilight, you win this round." With another wave of his taloned hand the trees, wolves, and himself disappeared from this world. Leaving masses confused as to what just took place this evening.  ()()()()()() Far away, in a different realm entirely, two white stallions flashed into existence outside of the iconic Ponyville. Far enough out to not be noticed by the general populace of Ponyville but it didn't go unnoticed by the diligent working ponies of Sweet Apple Acres.                > Uh oh > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- On hiatus as of yesterday when my phone (Which I do all my writing on) decided to quite life.  So all my work in progresses and all my ideas written down may be lost.  BUCK.
