> Everypony loves Twilight > by LankyLuna > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Chapter 1 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Wow, its a new record!" Twilight thought aloud. "40 new spells in one day! I can't believe I did it." "Good job Twilight." Said Spike jumping atop Twilight's back. "We should get ice cream to celebrate!" Twilight giggled. Of course ice cream was the first thing on the young dragons mind. "Definitely, Spike- Hey, I have an idea." Said the lavender unicorn, letting Spike off her back. Twilight floated her book of spells towards her and started flipping pages. "Okay Twilight, just as long as we-" Spike began "Found it." Twilight got into position, pointing her horn towards the table. "Found what?" Asked Spike in a hurry to get to the ice cream shop. Then two ice cream cones conjured on the table. Spike licked his lips "Make that 41 spells." Said Twilight, smiling at herself. As Twilight was casting spells at home, the other girls were having their usual 'Pony-pet-play-date' Rainbow Dash came up to Applejack, looking around. "Do you know where Twilight is?" "I was wonderin' the same thing." Said Applejack, blushing at the mention of Twilight's name. "Are you...blushing?" Asked Rainbow. "M-maybe!" Shouted Applejack "Now let me play with Winona in peace." And with that, Rainbow snorted, and flew away with Tank. Rainbow had the biggest crush on Twilight. Applejack couldn't too! Twilight was hers! Well, in her mind. Rainbow announced that she was going to go see if Twilight had forgot about their Pet play-date. "Ooh, oooh! Me and Gummy wanna come too!" Shouted Pinkie Pie "Well, I might as well come too, there isn't any reason to have a pony-pet-play-date with only two other ponies." Said Rarity, making an excuse to go to Twilight's house. "Why don't we all just go?!" She shouted sarcastically, her irritation showing. Everyone else nodded in agreement and trotted to Twilight's house along with an irritated prismatic pegasus bringing up the rear grumbling to herself. Back at the library, Twilight was reviewing her checklist, still content on her accomplishment of the most new spells she's done in one day. When she got to the second part of the checklist she gasped. She missed her and her friends Pony-pet-play-date! She got Owlicious and rushed out the door, then ran head first into Applejack. "Watch where y'all are goin'-" Applejack started saying as she looked down at the fallen pony. "Oh, ah'm sorry Twi." Applejack said nervously while blushing. "It's alright Applejack, really. It's my fault." Twilight said grabbing Applejack's extended hoof and stood up. Then she looked at her other friend's. "I'm so sorry for missing the Pony pet play-date guys! I just got so caught up with my studies and-" Rainbow butted in front of Applejack, cutting off whatever else Twilight was going to say. "You should be, I missed you! I mean...um...We all missed you!" "Aww, thanks girls." Twilight said. "Well, what are you all just waiting here for?! There's still plenty of time for the rest of our pony pet play date!" Said Pinkie, then they all headed back to their spot and played until into the evening. > Chapter 2 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- After hours of having fun. they decided to end the pet play date and go home. Fluttershy, Applejack, and Rarity left first, leaving Pinkie, Twilight, and Rainbow Dash, the latter of whom headed to her usual napping spot on the tree beside the area that had been used for todays festivities , and eavesdropped on Twilight and Pinkie's conversation. "Hey Twilight, did you have fun? I sure did. Gummy did too, didn't ya Gummy?" Asked Pinkie, looking at her pet aligator and nodding his head for him. "Anywho~, I was thinking, and maybe we could go to that new restaurant in town. You know, that french Fancy Shmancy one?" "Oh, sure! thanks Pinkie. I wanted to go there ever since it came to town, but I had no free time." Said Twilight. "Yay! How about seven?" "I'm there." Twilight said, then the ponies parted and went home to get ready. Rainbow sat there open-mouthed. She couldn't believe that she wouldn't be her future wife's first date. Well, maybe Pinkie was just being friendly. It's probably just a friend-date-thingy. Rainbow thought, trying not to get angry. Back at Twilight's house, sat a currently indecisive pony, looking back and forth at two different dresses. She usually didn't dress up but, she felt that she couldn't go to such an expensive new restaurant without getting a little dressed up. I wonder why Pinkie invited me to such an expensive place anyway, it's not like I'm that important. Twilight thought. "Oh well. Back to the important question; Purple and pink striped, or white, with purple polka-dots?" Pinkie was extremely excited, and why shouldn't she be? Her Crush said yes to a date with her after all. "It's like a dream come true or something, Gummy" Pinkie said, while bouncing around her room. Gummy squeaked. "Okay, I guess I did say that throwing an endless party was my dream, but.. I think that might be my second dream," Gummy looked up at Pinkie shocked. "Oh, don't give me that look Gummy, of course you're still my favorite guy in the whole entire world. But,Twilight's my favorite gal!" Said Pinkie, squeezing gummy into a bear hug. After about three minutes, Pinkie finally let Gummy go and sat him back on her bed after planting a kiss on his cheek and patting his head. She then turned around to her mirror at got ready for her and Twilight's "date" After three hours passed since the group had been together playing with their pets, Twilight and Pinkie were in line of the restaurant they were going to for their "date." "Thanks for saying yes to my invitation, Twilight. For a moment there I thought you were going to say no, but then you said yes, and I said yay, and then-" Pinkie was cut off by Twilight's hoof. "I was there Pinkie, and I don't see what the big deal is, it's just me. It's not like I'm the Princess. Anyway I should be the one saying thanks! I'm so excited to see what kind of food they have here." As minutes passed by, the two friends talked on for what seemed like hours, they came to the end of the line and were brought to their table to be waited on. Rainbow, having a nap, was dreaming about the mare of her dreams, Twilight Sparkle. As her dream became more interesting, she started to mumble in her sleep. "Oh, Twilight. Yeah. Uh." She moaned. Fluttershy was going back to were she and her friends had their pet date, because she had forgotten Angel's toy, and Angel was getting quite furious back at home. Fluttershy walked up to were they had played earlier, searching for the toy. "I.. Love you..." "Eeek!" Fluttershy hid behind a tree. 'Wait, was that Rainbow?' Fluttershy looked up to were the voice had come from, and sure enough, a sleeping Rainbow Dash lay on the tree mumbling in her sleep. Thank Celestia she wasn't talking to her. Fluttershy already loved Twilight. "Love...love you." "Aww." Fluttershy couldn't help to say. Fluttershy looked up to her friend and smiled. "Maybe Rainbow has a special somepony? I wonder who." Fluttershy said while flying up beside Dash. "Ohh, but I better not eavesdrop-" "I..... Love you so much, Twilight." She heard Rainbow say. Twilight?Tears welled up in her eyes. Rainbow Dash's special somepony was Twilight! The mare whom she had loved ever since the first day they met. Fluttershy knew that her and Twilight were meant to be, but if her and Rainbow were special somepony's.. Twilight must not love Fluttershy. The yellow pegasus flew straight to Rarity's as fast as she could, that's were she went whenever she was depressed. Once at her friends house, she knocked on the door. Rarity opened the door with her magic and looked at Fluttershy. "Oh.. Oh Fluttershy, darling. What's wrong?" Rarity rushed to her best friend's side and rubbed her back while bringing her to the sofa to calm down. "I.. Twili.. Rainb... Special somepony!!!" Was all Rarity could get out of her poor friend at the moment. "Hold on just a sec darling, ill be right back. " Rarity said tucking Fluttershy in with a warm blanket while she went to get tea for Fluttershy. After the tea was done, Rarity put it in a cup and carried it over to the crying pony. "It's alright Fluttershy.. Shh, shh, shh. Auntie Rarity is here for you." Rarity said pulling The pegasus into a gentle hug After taking a few sips of tea, Fluttershy had calmed down, now only hiccuping as silent tears streamed down her face. She just couldn't stop thinking how the mare she's always loved is with one of her best friends. "Now, tell me all about it, sweetie." Rarity cooed "Well...I found out that (hiccup) Rainbow is (hiccup) the mare I love's special somepony.." Said Fluttershy looking down, whimpering softly. "May I ask who it is that you love, darling?" Rarity asked, starting to braid Fluttershy's hair. "Okay, but can you promise not to tell anypony... Please and thank you." "Promise." "Okay.. It's... Twilight." Fluttershy said. Rarity's eyes widened as her pupils became tiny. > Chapter 3 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rarity shook her head. "Um, sorry darling, I think I heard you wrong. May you repeat that once more for me?" "...Twilight...?" Fluttershy said timidly. "T-twilight?" Rarity blinked. She let go of her friends hair and stood up, rubbing her temples. "Now Rarity, you mustn't have a horse in front of your weeping friend." Rarity mumbled to herself. "What did you say Rarity?" Asked Fluttershy. "Um...nothing dear. Just talking to myself." "Oh, alright." Said the yellow pegasus laying down. Rarity felt tears coming in. She couldn't help it, she was the most dramatic pony in Ponyville for Celestia's sake! Even she knew it. "Bu-but, I love Twilight too!" Screamed Rarity by accident. "What?" Asked Fluttershy, tearing up yet again. "Oh! Uh, ignore what I just said." Rarity said, turning around to Fluttershy But she was already gone. "Why does everypony have to love Twilight? I-I-I LOVED HER BEFORE ANYPONY ELSE!" Screamed Fluttershy, running back home with tears streaming down her face. Back at the restaurant, Twilight and Pinkie had just gotten their appetizers. "Mmm, these pizza rolls are good." Said Twilight. "I just can't get enough of them!" As Twilight took another pizza roll from the platter, gooey cheese dripped down onto her chin. Pinkie looked at Twilight's chin and giggled. "Here, let me get that for ya." Pinkie said, leaning across the small wooden table, proceeding by licking the tasty cheese off her chin. Then licking her lips and smiling widely at Twilight. "Uh-um.." Twilight looked around her table, making sure nopony saw what had just happened. Pinkie just sat there smiling at the nervous mare. "Um, why did you lick me?" "Just cleaning your face, silly! What else?" "Oh, well- never mind." Twilight said, blushing, then looking back down to the pizza rolls. Pinkie watched Twilight. She was so beautiful. She's the most adorable pony I know Thought Pinkie in her dream land, imagining kissing Twilight. Beatiful- "Hello, I'm Cherry Slice, and I'll be your waitress tonight. Have you two figured out what you'd like to eat?" "Yes, I'd like the dandelion quiche." Said Twilight "Okay, and you?" The waitress said smiling. "Two creme broule's, and shrimp jambalaya, please!" Twilight giggled at Pinkies choice for ''dinner''. Rarity sank down onto her couch crying. She just made her best friend cry, and her crush since last summer sun's celebration was dating one of her friends. Rainbow Dash beat her to Twilight. Just thinking about it made her want to throw up. "SWEETIE BELLE!?" Rarity Yelled, making the entire house shake. "Coming!" Sweetie Belle yelled, trotting down the stairs. When she saw her sister crying, she rushed to her side. "What's wrong, sis?" Sweetie hugged her sister tightly. "EVERYTHING'S HORRIBLE!" Yelled rarity, shaking the house once again, knocking Opalescence off where she was sitting. "Is there anything I can do?" Asked Sweetie Belle pleadingly. "M-make me some tea, please? Earl Gray, and make sure it's the loose leaf tea." Rarity said, pausing her sobbing to make sure Sweetie Belle got her tea right, then bawling right after she had finished talking. "Yes ma'am." Said Sweetie Belle, saluting her sister, then rushing to the kitchen to get her tea ready. After the tea finished boiling in the kettle, the white filly brought her sister the steaming hot drink and sat down to listen to her ramblings. "I've had a crush on Twilight for years! Rainbow Dash probably only started liking her this month! Why does Rainbow get everything she wants? It's not fa-a-air!" Screamed Rarity. As Rarity was letting her emotions out, her sister was ignoring her, the first word she said was now etched inside her head. What if me and the girls make a love potion for Twilight and Rarity, like with Miss. Cheerilee and Big Macintosh!? Thought Sweetie Belle, excited to make her sister happy. > Chapter 4 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Applejack was finishing her usual apple bucking at the farm, when she saw a distressed yellow pegasus running home, faster than she'd ever seen her go. Applejack quickly finished her chores, and being worried for her friend, she quickly ran off to Fluttershy's house, hoping she could be of help. When she reached her friend's house, she knocked on the wooden door. "P-please go away!" Applejack heard Fluttershy whimper. "Fluttershy, what's wrong? Did somepony say somethin' mean to you?!" Applejack said. "N-no please, I j-just don't want to talk right now." Whispered the crying pegasus from inside her house. "Fluttershy, ah'm always here for ya. Please tell me what's wrong."Applejack said sympathetically. "Okay..." Applejack took off her hat as she heard hoofsteps coming towards the door. When the door opened, Fluttershy pulled her in for a hug. Applejack smiled. "Ah figured something was wrong when ah saw ya’ll runnin faster than Rainbow flies, but I didn’t think it was this bad. Ah’m sorry I didn’t come right away Sugarcube." Fluttershy pulled her even tighter for a moment to whisper a nearly unheard “thank you” before slowly breaking the hug. "It's no big deal, now what's been troubling you?" When Pinkie and Twilight finished their dinner, they tipped the waiter and left, Pinkie walking Twilight home. "Soooooo...did you enjoy our date?" Pinkie asked Twilight. "Yes. It's been such a long time since I've been out to a place like that." "Yay! So you weren't bored at all?" "No I-" "Great! Then the date was a success!" "A...success?" The lavender mare questioned Pinkie, curious as to what she meant. "Yep! Actually...wait, Twi?" "Hmm?" "Do you..." Pinkie bit her lip. "Want to..." "Want to?" Twilight spoke up. "Go out with me?!" Pinkie nervously spouted out. "But we are outside." Pinkie started laughing at Twilight's comment. "Oh Twilie, you know what I mean! Do you want to be my mare?" Pinkie said, her nervousness disappearing, but reappearing again when she saw the look on Twilight's face. "Y-your mare? Uhh-umm..." Twilight put a hoof behind her neck. "This is another one of your pranks, right?" Twilight asked, looking for Rainbow. "A what? No no, I would never lie about something like this! I pinkie promise I’m being super serious right now!" Pinkie said, making her ''Pinkie promise" movements. Twilight was instantly paralyzed for a second, but she quickly came to her senses and made an excuse to get away from the awkward situation so she could think straight about all this, and most importantly, study. "Um, well...look at the time! Oh wow, already 10 o clock! I better get to the library so I can put Spike to sleep. So um..." Twilight waited for a response, but when none came, she galloped away. "Okie dokie lokie..." Said Pinkie suspiciously. As soon as Twilight got home, she closed the door and all the windows, making sure there was nowhere anypony could get in her house. She threw off her dress and searched for the books she was going to need tonight. "Alright, dating for beginners, dating for beginners..." Twilight said, skimming the bookshelf. "Ah-ha! Found it." Twilight breifly looked for other books on the subject, but when none were found, she hurriedly put the book on the table and sat down. Twilight didn't know one thing about dating. Sure, she got asked out quite a bit, but she always said no. Usually 'no' was the first thing that came to her mouth when somepony asked her, but something was different this time. Twilight opened the book, but quickly shut it. Will this make me a filly-fooler? What will people think of that? Well, nopony judges Lyra and Bon-bon, so why would they judge me? Twilight thought, opening the book back up, to shut it again. But, Pinkie's my friend! I don't want to ruin our relationship as friends. Twilight quickly opposed to her thought. Pinkie Pie is a forgiving pony. She wouldn't hold it against me forever if we broke up. Twilight opened the book again, then began reading its contents. > Chapter 5 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's been a week since Pinkie asked Twilight out, and Twilight hadn't left her house in all that time, except for once when she needed to fetch some diamonds for Spike. "C'mon, Twi! You haven't gone out for a whole week! What's wrong with you?" Spike whined with concern "I just need time." Twilight said with an annoyed tone. "Time for what? Why won't you tell me?! Twilight, I'm worried for you." "I'll tell you later, okay Spike? And you know what? I'll go outside today. Maybe me and the girls can hang out. We haven't done that in a while." Twilight said, mostly to herself. "Okay, Twi. As long as you get some fresh air... and, maybe some more diamonds? Please, please, please, please?" "Fine." Twilight said, rolling her eyes and smiling at her assistant's request. As she trotted outside into the warm rays of summer she took a big whiff of the crisp, clean air. I can't believe I stayed inside that long. the weather's perfect! she thought while making her way to Sugarcube Corner. "Wait, where am I going?" Said Twilight aloud, looking up to find herself at the doorstep of Pinkie's home and workplace. Twilight nervously stood there for a few moments. I wonder what Rainbow Dash is up to? she thought quickly before turning around and going to find Rainbow. The ''Cutie mark Crusaders'' were grouped up in their club house near Sweet Apple Acres, trying to figure out what they were going to do for the afternoon. "Maybe we could go ice-skatin'!" Shouted an excited Applebloom. "Where are we gonna find ice when it's this warm out? Maybe we should go bungee-jumping!" Replied Scootaloo. "Or we could make a love potion." Sweetie Belle suggested, trying not to seem 'too' enthused by the idea. "Another one?" Scootaloo asked. "Didn't it go, like, super wrong last time?" "Yeah, but..." Sweetiebelle began. "But nothin'! We ain't settin' two ponies up again! It just made everypony mad at us "Yeah, and we didn't even get out cutie marks for it!" exclaimed Scootaloo, irritated with the idea of trying to attempt match making when it already failed so badly the first time. "B-but, my sister...She's so devastated. The mare she loves doesn't love her back! Not to mention we might get our cutie marks for this if it actually works this time" Sweetie Belle stated trying get her friends on board with the idea. "Really? Who does she like?" Asked Apple Bloom. "Well, she likes Twilight." Sweetiebelle said. "Seriously? Twilight? But she's such an egghead. What about Rainbow Dash? She's cool, awesome, funny, nice and can do anything Twilight can do. Only one hundred and twenty percent cooler. I thought for sure that everypony loved Rainbow. Not Twilight." Scootaloo said. "Well, I don't know! You ask her." Said Sweetie Belle. "So... are we all on board with the love potion idea?" "Yeah, I suppose so. It better get us our cutie marks this time though." Scootaloo warned "Yep." replied Apple Bloom "Okay!" Squealed Sweetie Belle excitedly. In the skies of Ponyville, Rainbow Dash was practicing her new flying trick. The first part of the trick was a triple loop in mid-air, then to fly grass length away from the ground zig-zagged for three seconds, after that she'd shoot up into the sky as fast as she could, making a rainboom and flying straight to the ground, stopping at just the right time so she didn't hurt herself, and landing on her hooves. She'd almost got the hang of it, as she'd been practicing this for three days to impress Twilight for the next time she could see her. I can just imagine the look of Twi's face when she sees me do this new trick. She'll be so amazed that she'll just have to go out with me when I ask her! Heck, maybe she'll be so impressed she'll ask me! The cyan pegasus thought to herself while practicing on the trick for about the hundredth time today. After three more tries she finally got it. She would practice more, but she was achy, tired and parched. So she sat on the nearest bench she could find and started to drink her juice box that was waiting for her inside her saddlebags down on the ground. Why can't everything stand on clouds? She thought grumbling a little before starting to drink it. Rainbow took a big sip from the juice box as Twilight walked up behind her. "Hello Rainbow!"Twilight cheerfully said. Rainbow spit out her juice and turned around at the sound of her crushes voice, and flew up in the air. "Hey...Twilight..." Rainbow said as casually as she could manage. "So...I was just practicing a new trick and I was wondering if you could, like, watch or something, and tell me what you think of it?" "Okay, Rainbow! I'd be happy to!" Twilight sat down and watched Rainbow smiling. Rainbow started sweating with nervousness. She didn't realize how tense she'd be when Twilight watched her. Not to mention she's only done the trick perfectly once. 'Oh well' Rainbow thought. "You ready for this, Twilight?" Rainbow shouted down to her friend, who nodded vigorously. "Here goes." Rainbow whispered to herself as she began her trick. > Chapter 6 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fixated on a new dress was Rarity, trying to dismiss the thought of Twilight from her head. But for some reason, although she was the element of generosity, she wanted, no, needed Twilight to herself. "Oh, look at yourself Rarity! Thinking of Twilight again. It's been a week, and that mare hasn't left your head once for Celesta's sake!" Rarity moved her hooves faster, trying to get the gemstones on her dress as quick as she could, timing herself. "40 one hundred- done! And in record time, too!" Rarity smiled, pleased with her work. "And you seemed to get that darn Twilight out of your head...Oh Celestia..." Rarity said, her eyes catching on something outside of her house. It was Twilight and Rainbow Dash, They're probably on a date. Rarity thought, staring at Twilight and her 'marefriend'. "Oh dear!" Rarity said as she saw Rainbow tumble down from the sky brutally. She ran outside to go help her friends. "Rainbow!" Rarity yelled. As she got closer she saw red blood seeping onto the green grass. "Twi...ligh-" Rainbow passed out from loss of blood. "Oh gosh oh gosh oh gosh!" Twilight said, looking around for a telephone to use to call the ambulance. "Rarity! We need a phone!" Twilight shouted. "Yes, there's one in my boutique!" Rarity shouted back, running up to Rainbow. Twilight frantically ran to Rarity's house, calling the ambulance as soon as she found the phone. Back at the clubhouse, the Cutie Mark Crusaders were at their thinking spot, trying to figure out where they'd find another love potion, other than the one that made Miss. Cheerilee and Big Macintosh go crazy. "Well why don't we just go to the library?" Asked Apple Bloom. "But what if Twilight asks us what we're up to?" Replied Scootaloo, "Ah guess." Said Apple Bloom dejectedly. "Why don't we just tell her it's, uh, Crusader's business?" Sweetie Belle asked. "But if she knows we're making a love potion, then she'll probably be extra careful when we give her it. That's if she even lets us keep trying once she figures it out." Scootaloo explained. "What about Zecora?" Apple Bloom cheerfully asked. "Yeah, okay! That way we probably won't even need to make it." Sweetie Belle agreed. "Okay." Scootaloo said unenthusiastically. Applejack was back at the farm, making apple pie, apple cider, and apple crumble to sell in the week after next week's Heart's and Hooves dance. She was planning on asking Twilight out then. Not that I like Twilight. Thought Applejack. No, you love her. "What?!" Applejack said, then looked back at her pie and continued baking. Agh, hooey. Twilight will never say yes to a simple mare like myself. Applejack sadly cut up apples, and placed them neatly into the pie dough. Maybe askin' her out isn't such a good idea. Applejack looked at Granny Smith. Maybe I should talk to Granny before askin' her. No, Applejack. You can do this by yourself, don't go botherin' yer sleepin' granny for help. Anyway, ah'm pretty dang sure it's impossible to wake up that woma- The phone rang. "Hello?" "Applejack! You've gotta come quick. Rainbow dash got injured!" She heard Twilight say over the line. "Ah'm comin'!" Applejack hung up, and called Big Macintosh to finish cooking, then galloped straight to the hospital. > Chapter 7 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- After a scary journey through Everfree Forest, the 'Cutie Mark Crusaders' finally arrived to Zecora's house. After knocking on the door loudly, Zecora opened the door. "Zecora! I missed you!" Said Apple Bloom "And I, you. Our time together has been long overdue." Zecora replied. "Can we ask you something?" Asked Apple Bloom innocently. "Yes my dear. What would you like me to hear?" "We want a love potion. Don't ask why." Scootaloo bluntly interrupted. "Scootaloo, that was mean!" Apple Bloom scolded. "It's a really really really really big emergency. Please get us it quick. Or somepony may...die!" Sweetie Belle said dramatically. Zecora gave them a warning look, then disappeared behind a wall, coming back moments later with a familiar love potion. "Don't you fret. I have what you came to get." Zecora said, handing it to Apple Bloom worriedly. "Yes! Thank you. That's just what we need. Bye" "By my dear fillys-" The girls closed the door, and galloped to ponyville. "Wait, I need to finish my rhyme! you didn't give me enough time!" Zecora shouted to the girls. When Applejack got to the hospital, she wasn't surprised to find all of her friends, and even some members of the Rainbow Dash fan club there. "Howdy, Twilight." Applejack said, whilst sadly glancing at the injured pegasus, sleeping on the hospital bed. "What happened?" Applejack asked. "Rainbow had a big accident while showing me a routine that she made. I hope she's alright." "Me too, Sugarcube. Me too." Applejack said, nervously putting a hoof around Twilight's neck. "Thanks for coming Applejack." Twilight said, pulling her friend into a hug. Applejack blushed. "No problem, sugarcube. Anything for you- I mean Rainbow." "Umm, Twilight? She's waking up." Fluttershy said. "She's waking up!" Yelled one of the fanponies. At the announcement everypony in the room ran to her side. "Uh...Twilight? Where am I?" Rainbow asked, her eyes closed, and not yet adjusted to the light. "You're at the hospital. Are you feeling alright?" Twilight said, rushing up to her friend, and holding her hoof, while Fluttershy and Rarity looked at Rainbow enviously. Rainbow smiled at the feeling of her crush's hoof. "Yeah, you know me. Nothing can knock me down." Rainbow chuckled, but stopped quickly, because of the pain in her throat. "Dashie! Are you alright? What happened? I was so worried when I heard that you got hurt." Pinkie said, squishing beside Twilight and some fanfilly. "Hey, Pinkie. Yeah I'm alright. And about what happened, um, maybe you should ask Twilight. I can't really remember it too well." Rainbow said, swallowing painfully. Twilight quickly explained to Pinkie what happened. "Mhm, mhm. Oh my! Oh, Dashie. Get well soon. I brought you some things." Pinkie worriedly said. "You too, Twilight." Pinkie whispered to the lavender mare beside her. Twilight raised her eyebrows, but didn't say anything. Rainbow Dash, open your eyes." Pinkie said. Rainbow opened her eyes, and looked at Pinkie questionably. "Surprise!" Pinkie said, pulling out Rainbow's favorite type of cupcakes, some movies, about fifty balloons, and a fluffy rainbow pillow for rainbow to lay on. As she let the balloons fly, and traded Dash's pillow for the new one, the room suddenly got a lot more lively. "Thanks Pinkie." Rainbow said, sitting up to hug the Pink pony. "I got you something too, Dash." Twilight said, pulling three new Daring Doo books from her saddle bag. "Thanks Twi! I can't wait to start reading these. I love these books." Rainbow hugged Twilight too, enjoying every second of it, but then laying back down, defeated by the pain in her back, and her flank. After several hours passed, and Rainbow had signed her fans hooves, all of the fanponies left, leaving the girls alone, watching the Doctor Whooves movie. "Psst- Twilight." Said Pinkie, tapping Twilight with her elbow. "Here's what I brought for you." Pinkie said, handing Twilight her gift. Twilight took the gift and unwrapped the wrapping paper, inside was a fancy, red, heart-shaped card, covered with candys, and sparkles, with a note telling her to push the button, followed by an arrow pointing towards a bright orange button. Twilight looked at Pinkie, smiled wearily, and pushed the button. 'Twilight Sparkle, will you go out with me?!' Pinkie's voice shouted at her from the card. The whole room went silent. > Chapter 8 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Twilight looked around at her friend's shocked faces. "So, what do ya say, Twily?" Pinkie Pie piped up energetically. "I-um-I" Twilight began. "Hold on a second!" Rainbow dash shouted, standing upright on her bed, pointing at Pinkie. "You can't just go asking out Twilight without finding out if anypony else lo-like's her!" "Wait, what? But, I don't like her..." Pinkie said, turning towards a open-mouthed Twilight "I love her." Pinkie said lovingly, making Twilight's mouth practically hit the floor. Fluttershy started to cry, and ran out of the room, covering her face with her mane. "Look what you did Pinkie!" Rainbow angrily yelled, staring bitterly into Pinkie's eyes. "But I though I was supposed to tell the pony I love...when I...love-" Pinkie looked at Twilight, who was still in the same shocked position. "You don't love me back, do you?" Pinkie asked sadly, her frizzy mane flattening down, it's bright tint darkening. Pinkie walked away dejectedly. "P-Pinkie..." Was all that Twilight could manage. Twilight looked at her remaining friends, noticing that Rarity must've left at some point. Applejack and Rainbow looked at Twilight. "YES!" Twilight shouted, running out of the hospital to find Pinkie. "No..." Rainbow whispered sorrowfully, desperately reaching for the love of her life, who quickly disappeared. Applejack felt like her heart was twisting violently in her chest. She tumbled down and covered her face with her hooves. "What just happened?" Rainbow said, closing her tear filled eyes. Pinkie walked home, her feelings crushed. I guess Rainbow was right. Maybe I shouldn't express my feelings. Pinkie thought. It'll only hurt me. "Pinkie!" The sad mare heard from behind her. "Pinkie! wait for me!" "Twilight?" Pinkie asked, turning around to see her favorite unicorn. "Pinkie..." Twilight said, breathing heavily, slowing down to a stop. "I..." Pinkie put a hoof to Twilight's mouth, silencing her, and smiling through her tears. "Twilight. Don't be sorry. I love you, and there's no way I would hold anything against you." Pinkie said, then turned around and kept on walking home. "No, Pinkie. I-I want to be your special somepony!" Twilight didn't know why she instantly felt this way for her friend. But it just felt right... "You what!?" Pinkie's eyes widened as her mane brightening and becoming frizzy again. Pinkie ran back to Twilight, and hugged her tightly. "I thought you hated me." Said Pinkie. "Hate you? What gave you that idea?" Twilight said, hugging her new marefriend tightly. "I love you Twilight." "I know..." > Chapter 9 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "No. NO. NO!!!!!!" Rainbow said, trying to run after Twilight, but failing, since she usually depended on her wings to be fast, and it didn't help that every step she took hurt her more and more. I don't care what happens, I WILL get Twilight to love me. Even if it means hurting Pinkie's feelings. Sorry Pinkie. As the Cutie Mark Crusaders reached Ponyville, they hastily made their way to the club house. "Okay, so now what?" Scootaloo asked. "We have to get my sister and Twilight together. It can't be that hard. Then all we gotta do is slip them the potion!" Stated Sweetie Belle, eager to continue their plan. Apple Bloom got some paper as the three girls began to hatch their plans for getting Rarity and Twilight together. "So how about we tell Twilight that, uh, Rarity has a book about math or something smart like that at our house." Sweetie Belle pondered with her friends. "Okay, and if that doesn't work?" Scootaloo asked. "Uh...um...then we'll just have to wing it. Even though chickens aren't very good with their wings." Snickered Sweetie Belle." Scootaloo rolled her eyes, and agreed with winging it, she just wanted this love potion business to be out of the way. "Okay, so it's settled. Let's all meet at the library at three. I'll set up a romantic dinner at our house while you get Twilight." Announced Sweetie Belle. Fluttershy ran home, but stopping herself quickly while seeing Pinkie and Twilight hugging each other. She felt anger built up in the pit of her stomach. No, no, no. Pinkie didn't do anything wrong. But she did steal Twilight from me... The fiery anger continued to grow bigger. I liked her before anypony!! I should've been the mare to ask her out! Pinkie did do something to me. She stole my one true love. Fluttershy's anger was burning so large inside her that you could practically see the fire in her eyes. "TWILIGHT'S MINE!" The words seemed to get thrown out of her, along with the anger. But it was soon replaced with guilt and sadness as she looked up to find Pinkie and Twilight staring down at her. "I'm sorry. Please don't hate me..." Fluttershy quickly ran off to her house. "What? Where you dating her before me?" Pinkie's pupils started to grow. "No I wasn't. I don't know what's wrong with her..." Twilight looked at the running pegasus questionably. She looked at the clock. It was almost three, and Spike probably hadn't even had his lunch yet. "Oh, Pinkie. I have to go to get lunch for Spike. The poor guy hasn't had anything to eat since lunch, and I promised diamonds." Twilight said. "Okay Twilight. See ya later! Love ya." As Sweetie Belle walked towards her house with, she noticed a lavender unicorn trotting towards the same place she was heading to. I guess we're winging it. Thought Sweetie Belle, running into her house through the back door. She climbed onto the counter, reaching into the cupboards to grab two cups, as the doorbell rang. "SWEETIE ANSWER THE DOOR!" Yelled Rarity from her room. Sweetie quickly jumped off from the counter, and poured the love potion into the cups, then answered the door. "Hi Twilight! What a surprise to see you here. I was just making a drink for Rarity, and was wondering if you'd like to taste it?" "Okay, Thanks Sweetie Belle," Twilight said, absent mindedly floating a cup to herself with her magic, and taking a sip. "Mmm. That's really good. I'm sure Rarity will love it. Actually, I was here to see Rarity. Would you mind getting her for me?" "No problem!" Sweetie Belle rushed up the stairs to her sister's room, bucking the door open, all too excited to see her sister and Twilight. "Twilight's here for you." "Twilight? Is Pinkie with her?" Rarity almost yelled. "No?" Sweetie Belle replied. "Oh, that's great. How do I look? Good? Is my mane alright?" "You look good." Sweetie Belle rolled her eyes. Rarity rushed down the stairs, followed by Sweetie Belle. "Hello, Twilight." Rarity said, smiling. "Hey Rarity, I was wondering if I could get some gemstones for Spike?" "Sure thing darling," Rarity said, levitating a treasure box towards them. "You can have them for free. My treat." Rarity said, looking into Twilight's eyes and blushing. "Rarity! Rarity. I made a drink for you!" Sweetie Belle said, pulling her sister's tail lightly. Rarity silently took the glass from her sisters hooves, never taking her eyes away from Twilight. Sweetie Belle smiled widely, then sped up the staircase, peeking down from the top stairs at the two mares. Twilight quickly picked twelve gems, and put them inside her satchel. "R-Rarity?" "Yes, Twilight?" "I um, was wondering if, I mean, if you aren't too busy or anything if you'd like to, you know...if you'd like to go on a date?" Twilight asked hopefully. "Like a play date, or..." Rarity's blood rushed up to her cheeks. Twilight smiled shyly. "Yes! Yes! A million times yes!" Rarity screeched, "Ahem, I mean, yes." Sweetie Belle giggled happily. Applejack had walked home a while ago, bucking as many apples as she could to get her mind of Twilight and Pinkie. "Ah can't believe she said yes!" Applejack yelled, bucking the tree behind her forcefully, knocking the branches and leaves off along with the apples. "Now, Applejack maybe y'all shouldn't be buckin' apple's while you're mad." Big Macintosh said. "How did yah know ah was mad?" "Lucky guess." Big Macintosh said, looking at the trees behind them, and applejack followed his gaze to see all of the leafless, and almost completely branchless trees. "Ah'm sorry..." "Don't be. if anypony should be sorry it should be the pony that made you so sad." "But it's not her fault." Applejack sighed. "Who is this mare?" "Ah don't feel like talking about it right now, Big Mac. Ah'm sorry." "Never be sorry for being sad." Big mac pulled his sister into a hug. "Spike, I got your diamonds!" Twilight yelled as she entered her tree house. Spike ran downstairs, drooling while he looked at Twilight's hooves, where she was holding the diamonds and he licked his lips. He quickly gobbled down all of the gems, and looked at Twilight, raising his eyebrow. "Why are you so happy?" Spike asked. "Oh...no reason..." Twilight pretty much sang. "Oh, oka-" Spike began. "Except that me and Rarity are going out tonight! Romantically! I think...whatever! We're going out!" Twilight squealed excitedly. "Jeez, Twilight. You're acting like Pinkie." Said Spike. "Pinkie...oh Celestia...what will I tell her?...I know." Twilight ran past Spike straight to her papers and quill. She began writing. Dear Pinkie Pie, I'm sorry to say that when I said yes to you when you asked me to be your marefriend, I only said yes to protect your feelings. I love you. But only as a friend, Pinkie, please don't hate me for this. I'm such a foal sometimes. I... Twilight bit her lip, then crinkled the paper up and threw it in the trashcan. She couldn't just send her a card telling her that she needed to break up with her! Twilight thought of how sad Pinkie was when she thought that Twilight didn't love her...but she did love her. She just loved Rarity more. But I can't break Pinkie's heart! "Twilight, whats wrong?" Asked Spike sympathetically as tears dropped from Twilight's eyes. "Nothing...just thinking about um," Twilight quickly thought up an excuse. "How Luna must've felt about the ponies shunning her beautiful night." Twilight smiled. "Okay?" Spike said suspiciously. "I'm gonna go for a walk." Twilight said while opening the door with her magic. "So I can break up with Pinkie before me and Rarity's date... Twilight whispered to herself in a guilty tone. > Chapter 10 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rainbow Dash was at her home in cloudsdale, which she came to after her friends left and the doctor put a cast on it, reading the Daring Doo story that Twilight had given her the last time she injured her wings. Her wing was fractured in two places, meaning that she wouldn`t be able to use it for a whole month. The only way she was able to get to cloudsdale was by taking a ride, which costed a unusually large amount of bits. Hearts and hooves day was coming up in two weeks, and Rainbow vowed to have Twilight by then, whether Twilight liked it or not, but she was sure she would to make her. Rainbow counted her bits and sighed. The ride costed thirteen bits, and Rainbow only had nine. Guess I'm just going to have to figure out a way to get down myself. Rainbow thought, bent on her vow. She set the book down on her side table and looked around her room for something to use to get herself down. Maybe I'll tie my blankets to my bed, make a whole in the ground and climb down from there Rainbow smiled, and began to tie her blankets together, tied the first one to her bed and stomped hard enough on the ground to make a hole. She looked down. She was at least 320 meters from the ground. She'd practically need the Eiffel Tower to get down. "Darn it." Rainbow said, pulling the blankets back, some getting caught to the clouds and making the hole even bigger. "Oh, Twilight." Rainbow sighed, pulling out a picture of her and Twilight from the cupboard beside her bed, and hugging it. She looked at it again, and stood up, with a look of determination on her face. "No. I will get down before hearts and hooves day." The determined mare sat on the other side of the room, looking outside her window, and taped the picture of Twilight to the glass. She stepped back and look at it. "We look so perfect together, I know I'll get her! We're the perfect couple!" She turned around and started to walk back to her bed, to rest her wing a bit. But then she slipped. "Jeez, I'm getting clumsy..." Rainbow opened her eyes. "NO NO NO NO!!!" She was falling from her house. "Help! Somepony! Please please!" Rainbow flapped her wings, but found it impossible to flap her fractured wing, without searing pain that would knock anypony weaker than Rainbow out. While flapping her one good wing as fast as she could, she frantically waved her hooves around trying to grab onto air. "Help! Somepony! I'm gonna die!" Rainbow screamed. She looked down. She was going to die. And nopony would be able to save her. Twilight trotted as slowly as possible towards Pinkie's house. I hate myself for doing this, Pinkie. Twilight kept on repeating to herself in her head. "Heep! Some bunny! Peas peas!" Twilight faintly heard somepony yell. She looked around for the voice, then shrugged it off, and kept walking slowly. She then heard it louder. "Melt! S'not funny! I'm gonna die!" What?! Twilight searched her surroundings, trying to find the source of the noise. She then spotted a familiar rainbow pegasus...falling. Can't she fly?! Twilight thought, scared for her friend. She then remembered the accident that happened today. "RAINBOW I'M COMING!" She yelled as loud as she could, then teleported to Rainbow Dash. "Twilight! What are you doing? Twilight, get out of here before you die!" Twilight grabbed rainbow by the shoulders, then smiled and closed her eyes as her horn began emitting a purple light. "TWILIGHT! WE'RE ALMOST TO THE GROUND!" Rainbow yelled. Twilight peeked down, and squeezed her eyes tight Rainbow Dash was certainly not lying. After about two seconds, Rainbow's wing was enveloped in the purple glow from her horn. Twilight looked down. They were so close to the ground. Maybe they were going to die tonight. "I'm sorry Rai-" Suddenly, the two ponies stopped in midair. "Why? You just saved my life." They then began flying upwards. > Canceled. > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey everyone. I'm sorry to say this, but I'm going to stop writing this story.
