Today was the day, the day that the prophecy predicted has come once again. All of Equestria was bustling with excitement for the day that only came once every million years, the day of The Galactic Collision. Everypony everywhere was heading to Canterlot, to see the prophecy take place. They all drove slowly down the long, winding road to Canterlot in their old wagons or chariots or carriages. All bouncing in anticipation for the event that they would only see once in their entire lifetime. "Momma! Are we there yet?!" A small, lavender filly called out from inside a small, rundown wagon. "Not yet Periwinkle! We're almost there though!" Said the green mare driving along all the traffic. "Ok! Oh and momma?" "Yes, darlin?" "Where re' we going again?" The green pony sighed then gave a small giggle, she had only told her fifteen times what was happening today... "We're going to Canterlot, sugarcube." The filly jumped out of the back of the wagon in excitement "Oh! Are we goin' to that fancy chocolate store again?! The chocolate in canterlot is the bestest!" "Well, maybe we'll go while we're there, but that's not why we're headin to canterlot darlin'" "Well then, why are we goin?" "We're going to watch the prophecy happen, the day of The Galactic Collision, didn't you're teacher tell ya 'bout it?" The filly scratched her head, trying to remember if she really did, but she never really had the best memory, and her mother knew that very well. "Ok ne'ermind, i'll tell ya." The pony pulled her daughter close and as she continued to drive, told her daughter about the day of the prophecy.... "Ya see, Periwinkle, every single day, the sun and the moon collect the energy from the stars, gainin' power and storin' it for this exact day. On this day, they would take all the energy they gathered over the last million years, and use it to push towards each other, collidin' into one huge ball of magical energy, The Galactic Collision. Once they have completely collided into each other, they both send off a bright ray of magic right towards Equestria. And In that ray of absolute magical power, the next two princesses of the moon and sun are born, destined to rule over Equestria for the next million years. The sun and moon then part again, and begin collectin' more energy from the stars for the next time the prophecy will come true." "....WOAH! So, does that mean that Solaria and Artemis are comin' back?!" Periwinkle said Her mother looked downwards, giving a look of sadness, but she soon smiled and lifted her head back to her daughter. "No...Solaria and Artemis won't be comin' back sweetie, but we'll always remember em'. But now, it's time for two new princesses to rule over the land, it's time for a new era in Equestria." Periwinkle still didn't quite understand, but she was still very excited, and she smiled and bounced all the way to Canterlot. Meanwhile.... The Canterlot castle was in a hustle to prepare, the collision was happening very soon, and they still had so much to prepare. "YOU! Take those to the throne room now! Has the seal been made on the right spot?!" A tall, white pony with glasses and a pony tail yelled at what seemed like hundreds of rushing ponies, trying to get everything together. "Yes, the seal has been made, all we need is him and we will be ready." Said a gray stallion near her "Good! But WHERE IS HE?!" Suddenly, the large entrance doors flew open, to reveal a very tall, large, blue unicorn stallion "Sorry i'm late! I was caught up with something" "I don't wanna hear it Proctor! This is the day of the prophecy, NOT A TEA PARTY! YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN HERE TEN MINUTES AGO!" The white mare shouted "Alright, alright, get off my flank Eleanore...." Proctor chuckled as he walked forwards towards the spot where he was to be "well SORRY! Sorry that i'm upset because the guardian of the princesses is LATE FOR THE ARRIVAL OF THE PRINCESSES!" "Look, I know i was late and i'm sorry, but i'm here now, and i'm ready to do my job." He said with a smile Eleanore was not pleased. "....Oh nevermind, lets just get going!" she said as she pushed him to go faster "haha, alright i'm going!" he laughed as he let her push him along Eventually they both reached the arena, where the new princesses of moon and sun were to be born. All the once hustling and rushing ponies were now standing around the center of the arena in a large circle, surrounding the symbol of The Galactic Collision, which was the sun and moon together of course. All through the spectator area, ponies were anxiously waiting for the sun and the moon to collide and to meet their new princesses. Eleanore and Proctor walked to the center, now wearing cloaks like all the other ponies in the center, to begin the ceremony. Eleanore stayed in the circle, and Proctor walked to the very center of the arena, and began to shout, "Mares and Gentlecolts, the time has come for the moon and the sun to collide once again, to bring us our new princesses of Equestria!" All the ponies screamed and hollared in excitement, they looked as though they were going to explode from the tension. Proctor raised his head to gaze at the sun and moon, they were very close, it was almost time for the collision... "THIRTY SECONDS!" he shouted The ponies became even more excited, pegasus ponies flew up into the air to look just a bit closer, as they all watched the sun and moon slowly move towards each other. They all went breathless, the moment they have been waiting for for a million years was now about to happen in front of their own eyes And before they knew it, it happened. The sun and moon collided into a large, black orb that made everyone stare wide-eyed in amazement. Suddenly, the sky became a dark purple color, and the black orb began to glow more and more with power... Suddenly, two rays of shining brilliance cast down from the sky, one a deep, dark blue, and one glowing a bright golden color. The ponies were surprised, normally there is only one single beam that appears, but this time it's two....what could it mean? Suddenly, two figures began to appear in the beams, but the beams were too bright to make out what they were...but they already knew... Suddenly, the two small figures opened their big eyes, and suddenly, the world became white. No one could see anything, that is until they blinked their eyes. It was already over... The sky was blue, the atmosphere normal, and the moon and sun were once again seperated, like nothing ever happened. Only one thing had changed. Two small alicorn foals were in the center, one with a small, pink mane and matching pink eyes, and the other, a dark blue just like the moon beam, with a lighter blue mane and bright blue eyes. It was them, these were the two new princesses... All the ponies roared and cried with joy, their land once again had their princesses, the prophecy happened, all in that one shining, glorious moment, that would change the fate of Equestria forever. "THE NEW PRINCESSES OF EQUESTRIA HAVE ARRIVED! MAY THE NEXT MILLION YEARS BE FILLED WITH HARMONY AND FRIENDSHIP!" ,Proctor shouted with pride. He then looked at the two small foals with hope in his heart, knowing that they would become great leaders. Little did they all know, that these princesses would be different from the last... > The Naming of Royalty > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 2: The Naming of Royalty Immediately after the collision, everypony returned to their homes and everyday lives, but returned with a lift in their spirits and hope for a better future. As for Proctor and the others at the Canterlot Castle, they all prepared to settle in their newborn princesses. Proctor took both of the small fillies and carried them on his back carefully, much to Eleanore's extreme uneasiness. He took them up a very large flight of stairs, leading to a grand hallway, and at the end, a gold plated door with the symbol of the galactic collision engraved on it. Inside the doors was a very large bedroom, clearly too large for only two fillies, or even two grown mares. Proctor took the fillies to their seperate cribs, each specially designed for sun and moon. He sat with the girls for a while, just looking at them. He smiled as he watched the two curiously observing their new surroundings from their cribs. "I'm guessing you two like your new room huh? Although this is just guess since you cannot talk yet, but since I spent five hours painting this place, i am gonna say that you love it." He chuckled as he continued to observe the two princesses "Come to think of it, you two do not even have names yet! Hmmm....lets see, what should I call you two?" He started to pace the room, thinking of what to name the two girls, when suddenly he stops in front of a large window and sets his eyes on the now setting sun. "Well, typically the princesses are to be named after the sun and the moon, so lets see....Sun, bright, star, solar, celestial.....celestial..." He liked the sound of the last one, he walked over to the small white pony and gazed at her, thinking, she looked up at him, giving him this bright, warm smile that would melt even the most heartless pony. "..........Celestia....Celestia! I like that one! You will now be "Princess Celestia"!" He then turned and walked over the the dark blue pony who represented the moon. "Now, what to call you?" He asked her "How about Crescent?" Proctor slightly jumped back, not expecting a response from the 1-day-old filly "Over here clueless..." Proctor realized that the voice hadn't come from the baby, but from Eleanore. She was halfway through the door, observing Proctor as he was talking to the newborn fillies. "Chatting it up with the new royalty are we?" She says with a giggle. Proctor slightly blushes from embarresment and turns back to the princess of the moon, but he lightly chuckles as he realizes how foolish he must have looked. "Sorry, I was just trying to come up with names for these two. I've already got one for our little sun spot, Celestia." "Celestia.....I like it!" "Yeah, that's what i said." Eleanore walked over to the dark blue filly and watched her. "So like i said, how about we name this one Crescent?" She said as she watched the filly chew on her own hoof "Didn't we already have a Princess Crescent?" Proctor asked "Yes, during the Pinto Era. She was a magnificent moon princess, so why not name this little one after her?" "Well for one, i don't think it would be a good idea to name a princess after another. What if she grows up thinking that she expects us to be just like her or something of that sort? I want this one to be her own princess, and rule the night in her own special way. And if she does not feel that way, other ponies might feel that way and compare one to the other. No, this one needs her own, unique name, to seperate her from the past princesses of the night." Proctor said as he sat and stared at the child. Eleanore was surprised by Proctor's response, but smiled at how caring he was towards them already. Afterall, he will be guarding the princesses for the rest of his natural life, so she was more comfortable knowing that the one doing the guarding would be someone who genuinely cared about them. "Hmmm....you make a good point. So then, what else could we name her?" Eleanore asked him. They both pondered and pondered, trying to think of the perfect name, when all the sudden, Proctor got a brainstorm. "Eleanore, remember that time when the moon became covered by a shadow from the sun and Princess Artemis was weakened, what was that called?" "Huh? Oh! I know what you're talking about! What was it.....a Lunar Eclipse!" "Lunar Eclipse....Lunar..........I have it!" He walked over to the small filly and smiled triumphantly at her as he spoke: "You will now be known as "Princess Luna"!" Suddenly, a creaking door sound crept up from the other side of the room. Eleanore and Proctor turned towards the sound to find a zebra, decorated in handcrafted ornaments and jewelry, standing at the door to the nursery. "Miss Eleanore?" Eleanore stepped forward and smiled at the zebra, "Uma, finally you have arrived, shall we get started?" The zebra smiled back at the white mare, "Of course."
